Is opening a Halifax account the only way of buying shares for Disney Paris?
I only ask as my parents have said that they will buy me 20 shares for my birthday:cool1: and are under the impression that they will get in touch with their financial advisor and tell him to purchase these shares? But I'm not sure if it works that way or not?
I have never bought any shares nor dealt with any shares so things like this just go over my head!!
Thanks for any advice.:)

Im in the same boat as the OP.
Can I just add to her questions... How many shares do you need to join the shareholders club without paying a fee? Do you remain in the club all the time you have the shares? Does it get your entire party into the Saloon, or just yourself? Is there a saloon at both parks? Do any benefits extend to Disney outside of Paris?
Sorry to hijack Fiona...(same name as my sister :cool1:)

we have not yet bought the shares but are in the process. we are buying them through the company we have other shares through, so no you don't have to use halifax.
there is full information on salon mickey in the sticky, and have a look at the shareholders club site for all the rules and benefits, but as far as i can see your whole family get into the salon (it is open 9-12) but you are only allowed to visit a certain number of times a month (4 i think?)

You need to buy 20 shares to have the fee waived, however you still have to renew the membership every 2 years just like the fee paying people.
There is a limit to the numbers you can take in 4 if they are your children, parents & spouse, 3 if they are not related to you. You also need to have an entrance ticket to the parks to gain entry to Salon Mickey & its is only for the main park. You can get discount in Disney stores across Europe but this is only 10% as opposed to the 15% in the resort

Thanks tennisfan... so long as I know to buy 20, and that I can take my fiance in, then I am happy. Will be buying in the morning.
