First I wanted to say thanks for everyone's advice in a couple of threads I started a while back. I was contemplating buying a resale and was going back and forth for a couple of months.
Well, I finally ended up buying AKV direct as the incentives and last years points tipped the balance. I ended up buying 100 pts, Oct. use year @ $97 point. My wife really wanted BWV, but after I figured closing cost on top of about $80/ point it ended being pretty close to Disney. Although, in convincing my wife and daughter, I promised to add on at BWV if we ended up having a tough time booking there at 7 months. Hopefully I don't have to cross that road!
What tipped me fully towards buying direct was the ability to use my Visa to pay in full. The rewards points alone are enough for a short haul flight, and I made my 1st reservation at the end of the buying process. You can't do that with resale!
