Hi, i have a quesiton about booking excursions. the last time we did a 7 day magic cruise, you couldn't sign up for the excursions until you were on the ship. now, i hear you sign up for excursions after you pay for the cruise. do you have to pay for the excursions at that time, or later? is it still possible to book the excursions once you are on the ship, or are they all gone by then? we are looking for the golden eagle catamarran and the trunk bay snorkeling trips on the eastern cruise. are there any new excursions since last june of 2001? thanks for the help. barb

The last time I sailed (10/27/01), you booked on the cruise. However, this time (8/3/02), we can book 60 days out.

Well at day 38, I called to book the scuba excursion, guess what.... it was sold out. I did get the Dolphin one in Cozumel though. The charge will appear on your onboard expenses. You can cancel up until 2 days before you sail.

FYI, I emailed the excusion desk 2 days ago, and inquired about the scuba excursion, 2 people cancelled, so I got it. But that was lucky. I would book the excursions on the 60 day window if I were you. You can always rethink them as you get closer and then cancel if you want. Better to have the spot than no spot at all.

I would for sure try to book in advance as soon as you can for certain excursions that are very limited availability. Waiting to book until you get on the ship may cause you to be very disappointed if the excursion you are interested in doing is already sold out.

If you are told that an excursion is sold out when you try to book before boarding, definitely try again once you're on board if you're still interested.

We had luck booking my DH on the Castaway Cay fishing excursion once we were on board but were told it was sold out when we tried to book it long before sailing.
