It's The Day Before Friday!! :dance3:

Another good day at work yesterday! What a difference it makes working with happy people! And I heard that there was stress and nastyness at the other hosp... sigh... Is it wrong to be happy to be out of the mix? I'm especially happy to NOT be the cause of it (for a change):lmao:

We didn't go to the new (for me) gym after work yesterday. My boss's mom is in the hosp, and she had to go there after work. We are going to try again for Friday...

A poem on China and Google? Seriously? Did you draw the short straw or what?

I'm up. 'Nother headache. I think it may be sinus, cuz I was a little stuffy too.

No big plans for the day. My niece is going to be induced, but not until later tonight (they're doing some gel this morning and then start pitocin at 7:30 tonight), so Sophie will be here much later tonight or early tomorrow morning. I plan on taking Morgan in to see her on Saturday morning (they are in Boston, Betsy had cancer so I think she needed a specialist) to see her. I can't wait!

So, my list is easy for today.

PrincessM up, fed, dressed, bus
Pay bills
Cards
Baby Book
Lunch
Baby Book
Homework duty
Dinner - Calzones and salad? DH didn't feel well yesterday, so we had baked potatoes from Wendy's

I had to write a poem on China and Google last night. That was... awful. And the poem is awful. But at least it rhymes.

there once was a search engine named Google........
no one knew the oo was pronounced like Bugle.
It's now the best thing since sliced bread......
Google told me the flag for China is red.
If you want to know more
you can't go to a store
you have to search the World Wide Web.

would I pass?? :rotfl2:

to do:
nothing

White crap is falling from the sky and I'm to depressed to do anything. What a cruddy day!!! And yesterday was so nice too.

morgansmom2000
01-28-2010, 12:05 PM
It's falling here too. I have absolutely no motivation to do anything. I did do some organization/clean up this morning, but now I just want to sit on the couch and watch as many episodes of Law & Order I can.

01-28-2010, 12:24 PM
Well, nice to know we're all in the same funk!

I can't get out of my own way today. Watched "The Bucket List" this morning since it is insanely overdue from the library and I have to go over there later today. Also talked with SPED department folks and am tearing my hair out...

Didn't walk the dog, didn't work on swaps, didn't do a single thing around the house - sigh. At least I'm not popping Advils like Skittles today (like other recent days) to battle headaches. This weaning off meds stuff totally stinks - but I've gotta get off this stuff.

But I do have to pull myself together to get DD to her carpool later today to go to a Girl Scout cake decorating class. White crap is falling here too - supposed to be very bad at rush hour. Great...

Buffy - um....lovely attempt at the China/Google poem! Apparently, Ben Franklin took news items, turned them into poems, then turned them back into prose. This is the model the professor is employing to get the students to reflect upon current day world issues. Ok...but thank heavens for full ride scholarships and that I'm not paying for this exercise!!!

Check and see if the events been canceled. School just canceled all evening activities.

PrincessNancy96
01-28-2010, 12:43 PM
Well, at least the evening is without stress... Are they letting the kids out early???
The sun is shining so hopefully it will head your direction for tomorrow... now I say the sun is shining... note I didn't say anything about it being warm! :(

BernardandMissBianca
01-28-2010, 12:45 PM
nope. We don't release unless to HS does (we share buses). I'm hoping the worst of it is over before the kids get out. Maybe they can clear the roads a bit.

I went in to see Chelle this morning and I saw her briefly open her eyes!
Then before I left I went in to see her again
I said her name, she opened her eyes and looked right at me!:yay:
They are now trying longer periods of keeping out of sedation and they took her off another med!
Im sure its just because of the emotional strain but I feel exhausted!:goodvibes

Jennifer, pixie dust and wishes to your niece for a safe and healthy delivery!

To all who have those headaches, I hope you all feel better soon!:flower3:

Yes. Sadly, today was a poetry slam... and I wish I could have slammed everyone - nothing was very good. Lou's was actually pretty good, some of his lines were downright Seussical, but the teacher said "I think I liked the lines that were your own words more." Lou was like "Most of them were.. the ones that weren't were poetic already, since they were by a poet, and I wanted to showcase them"

I am not a fan of this guy.

And my poem was pretty bad... but he was like "oh, great job!" Yeesh.

AR- That's great news! Continued good thoughts P&PD :wizard: going her way!!

We ended up with a big wind today, but it felt suprisingly mild walking to the parking lot. We are in for the deep freeze coming over the next few days. I am SO ready for spring!!

I plan on taking Morgan in to see her on Saturday morning (they are in Boston, Betsy had cancer so I think she needed a specialist) to see her. I can't wait!

My Mom's husband has a brain scan appt at MA General Saturday so Mom will be up there too around 11. I can't wait to see pics of Baby Imelda!

Rita, how terrific that Michelle opened her eyes when you spoke her name. No wonder you are exhausted, the emotional stress must have been a strain on you this week.

Brook, give yourself some TLC time until you are 100%.

Roads were fine coming home tonight even though it snowed all day. It wasn't until the temps dropped that it started to ice over.

My to do list today went like:

Wood in the woodstove
Feed kitty :cat:
Clean stinky pete box
load of darks into the wash in the am, put into the dryer when home from wor
Get DD up and ready for school
caffeinate
Work
Check on how Mom feels, her COPD was acting up again.
Haircut (and color)
Oversee tubby time

Buffy let me get the sander out of the truck and I'll be down around abt tomorrow am :lmao::lmao:.

Windy and the white stuff finally hit here with such force First I had trouble keeping the truck on the road then seeing the road. L's like mom you're on the yellow line No kidding kiddo it was the only way to tell I was in the road.:rotfl:

I'm curling up with a good book, my down comforter and my dog and enjoying a nice night in since I had to run the kiddo, course I wasn't about to trade cleaning the chiminey for doing the run. at 1 point there was a 3lb hammer, a crowbar, and 25' of rope all lost in the chiminey:scared1::scared1: I didn't even ask just put on the jacket and left. guess it involved chain falls and the lally column in the basement to retrive the hammer.
