Welcome to the start of our new pen pal swap. We have ladies from both the United States and internationally, so this will be alot of fun.http://bestsmileys.com/valentine1/2.gif

Each month, I will post a new thread so that we may discuss any questions, you may check in on that particular thread for the month, let us know when you have sent out your letter, and as you receive one.... Please send out your letter for each month out either on the first or second week of each month.

Each month, there will be a "Topic of the Month-(TOTM), and a "Twist" aka Twist of the Month. The Topic of the Month will give you a subject on one or two things for you to include into your letter to your pen pal. And the Twist will be something "fun" that you can choose to do if you wish. You may discuss this option with your pen pal.

This months "Twist" is-
-Remember when you were a child, or maybe even as an adult making cut out Valentines for your classmates, family, and friends for Valentines Day. Since Valentines is in February, you are to cut out a Valentine heart, and decorate it for your pen pal. If you have kids, your kids can also help you in decorating it. Just use your creativity. :flower3:

We will keep it a secret as of now. But once everyone starts to receive their first letterl/mailing, they can surely let others know who their pen pal is.

There will be another fun "twist" in a couple of months that will require you to "write" more than just one letter.

We had almost 8 in of snow last Fri/Sat and schools are still closed due to melting snow turning to ice by morning. :eek:

:) Hooray our first pen pal letter arrival. Yes my daughter had helped me with all of the Valentines. She wanted to put that poem on since she had seen it in one of her books. I think she was able to do a better job on them then what I could have done. :lmao:

Some are more creative then others, and I do give out hints, so if you keep up with this thread, you might even just figure out what the next monthly twist will be. ;)

That was quick. I went online to get the postage rate as I was supposed to send it airmail. I had a choice of 98 cents or $20+. I figured that the 98 cents would have to do----plus, I cannot imagine it going by boat. Could be wrong!!:cool1:

Waiting to hear back from one other pen pal regarding sending out their letter..... THEN, the new info. for next month will be revealed. So, the sooner all letters are mailed, the sooner the luckilyness of the upcoming months theme, and info. will become avaliable.

But, everyone does have till the ending of week two of each month to send out those letters. Please be on time. Like I always say for exchanges as well....it is always better to send things out early rather than later since you never know if an emergency or such may happen. ;)

You're right, Cindy. All USA mail is now Air Mail. The difference in the price is for Priority, which has a tracking number and a certain amount of insurance $$. Usually priority takes about a week for international packages, and first class doesn't take too much longer, depending on the country.
