Well it's taken me a while to get back on after our original thread was deleted back in October last year I think it was!!

We are also doing our second cruise, and it's also the last bit on our itinerary!!! Just me and the two kids (Travis and Amelia). We are doing 10 nights of bounceback at DW prior to the cruise and I cannot wait!

I'm looking, the excursions in Nassau, we love the dolphins encounter, we did in Conzumel my DD and I, great experience, we like to do sea lion this time, but in blue lagoon is 8 years or 48 inches and in Atlantis in Dolphin cay all age can participate, Atlantis is good idea I would like visit that paradise we have time to decide. :rolleyes:
I have some magnets of the last cruise and others new, now is the WONDER :love:

Hi Jenny, I'm sure there is the DCL coach transfer but we have used FL Tours in the past and to be honest I think it actually worked out a little more cost effective and it was a private transfer too. Not only that, they will include a grocery stop in case you need to pick anything up:thumbsup2

You just pay for the transfer in cash on the day. I just booked at :

Sorry Jenny, I've just checked on the FL Tours website and they now like prepayment 2-3 days prior to travel by calling their office due to a high number of cancellations. I just booked from DW to port to MCO and it cost a total of $220.00.

This is my DH and my 2nd Disney cruise (1st was a Magic 7nt Western in 2002) and 6th cruise overall. We also have two kids- Aiden (5) and Caleb (will be 9mo). The lanyard Dis members use to identify all member of the group meet, example if I use a lanyard with the logo(first post) and you see me in the port or in the boat, you know who I am, then we meet in somewhere to take pictures with all Dis group meet, I'm thinking The best area is in the Triton's front of the bronze statue of Ariel, Deck 3 (Lobby) the hour I think is better before the Safety Drill, I need more information about the hour of the Safety drill to know the hour.;)
I hope you can understand me, my language is Spanish, so my English is :headache: but I try to do my best:love:

Hi to all our fellow cruisers. October is not far away now. This will be my second cruise on the Wonder this year. My DW and I went on our first cruise ever back in May just the two of us. This time we have decided to bring the kids during their fall break. We are all excited, I went all out for this one and got a balcony room this time. Don't worry ;). The lanyard just copy and paste the image that appear in post #1 cut, laminate and put in a lanyard use this to identify the people in this thread on the port say hi and takes pictures (see post 58) To the magnets here is the link for request

May I suggest that we move this to the Promenade Lounge around the corner. They will still be boarding at 3pm and we may be in the way of the crew trying to get all of the passengers onboard. It will also be hard to talk with the family name announcements.

We didn't spend as much time in the Sydney area as we'd have liked, but spent an excessive amount of time up in Darwin & Alice Springs and everything in between (lots of croc spots and buffalo & barramundi BBQ!).

The release of the Florida Resident Rates prompted my mom and I to book so late.

I would imagine there may be A LOT of Platinum cruisers on this one because there are many who sail often on the Wonder's shorter cruises. I've only done the Magic in recent years. This will be my 13th DCL cruise, but DCL only counts it as my 12th (having completed 11) because my very first was a "Disney Cruise College" as a TA, which doesn't count. ;)

We didn't spend as much time in the Sydney area as we'd have liked, but spent an excessive amount of time up in Darwin & Alice Springs and everything in between (lots of croc spots and buffalo & barramundi BBQ!).

What kind of special events have they had in the past? How many platinum are typcially on board? We plan to book another cruise while onboard in Oct so we'll be gold for our Alaskan cruise next August. :)

There are usually 5-10% of the passengers on board that are platinum. However, it looks like there will be a larger portion on the inaugural cruise for the Dream, probably 20% or more.

Awesome! And yes, I did. The Koala was holding a little plush Koala for security. So cute and cuddly! :goodvibes Are there sheep ranches in the Blue Mountains? I may have visited a ranch in that area. As I said, it's been too long, and all my photos are at my other home in Idaho.

RE Packing: I am so OCD that I was already mostly packed for my Dec. 4 Magic, so I've had to unpack to cut down for the 4-night Wonder. Feels odd taking things out of my luggage to prepare for a cruise. :sail:

This will be our first cruise!:cheer2: But my 4th trip to WDW......it will be my son, Alex' 3rd trip! We will be going to WDW after the cruise. Staying for the first time on Disney property, at the ASMusic. Between the DDP and the F&W Fest, we will be eating like PIGS! popcorn::(Which we really shouldn't as we are both quite FLUFFY!:rolleyes1) But, as is well known, none of the food or desserts on cruise ships or at WDW has any calories AT ALL!!!! Right? Right?pixiedust:Disney Magic just makes those nasty old calories just disappear!:rolleyes2 Right?

They do a great job of keeping all of the available sports on. There will randomly be some black out games, same as you would find at home, but Diversions will have several games on. For big games (SuperBowl or BCS bowl), they usually play in Diversions and on the big screen by the goofy pool.

Thanks! When we cruised last fall they had no games on Sunday as they only had limited channels. All we got was NASCAR.

FYI for anyone who cares - As noted on another thread, apparently Captain Henry turned the ship over to the new Captain Marco (formerly of Carnival Cruise Line), so he will now be our captain. He originally was not supposed to take charge until December.

Lets hope if it does come north it stays away from us. We have all been waiting soooo long to take this cruise I would hate it to be affected in any way.

It's still too soon to tell, but I'm not worried about it. The long-term forecast shows Port Canaveral as partly cloudy/partly sunny the 3rd, 4th & 5th. It shows Nassau as 60% chance of scattered thunderstorms on those days. No forecast for beyond that yet, and of course this far ahead it may change. Although anything can happen, I'm not worried about tropical storms or hurricanes as they all seem to be steering clear. We could get rough seas, but the ship handles those quite well. If you don't, take Bonine (non-drowsy Dramamine) daily, maybe even starting the day before we sail. Couldn't hurt. Ginger root pills also help.

Storms can affect deck parties (would be moved inside) and of course island time or excursions. That can happen on any cruise, any time of year. Just keep your fingers crossed, don't worry and BE HAPPY! DCL will take care of you. :goodvibes

I AM NOT WORRIED AT ALL. The weather pattern indicated for at least through Sunday is completely typical for this time of the year. If you go to the NOAA website, there is really no threat whatsover for any issues beyond a little rain, again completely typical for this time of year. We went on a cruise last year at the same time of year and had a little rain but it did not affect much at all.

Just tell me I am worrying too much. Just dont want our flights down or the cruise being cancelled thats all. I'd hate to have to tell the kids the trip is cancelled, but I am optimistic that wont be the case.

We tried to change that but it would have cost us $300 just to change our return flight for the 4 of us + accommodation + food + event tickets for 4. I couldn't justify $1000 just for one extra day. We would have don't it for sure though if the airline had not charged the re-booking fee.:mad:

In the history of the cruise line, Disney has cancelled only one cruise due to a Hurricane. At 6 days out, if there isn't a threat on the Bahamas, we are pretty much good to go. These things take a long time to form and cause problems. After living in Florida for several years, I can tell you that weather people over dramatize everything.

Yep, local weather man said it should be clearing up Friday so we should be just fine for Saturday travels and a Sunday cruise. (of course, you know how well we can believe our local weather worriers! ;))
