We are on the regular dining plan.
If my DD10 orders from the kids menu at a table service restaurant (not a buffet or family style,) can we pay for her meal OOP? If she does this 4 times we will have enought to do an "extra" table service buffet meal for all four of us.Even if she only does it three times it would still work out cheaper for us in the end - so is it okay to do?

Yes, just make it VERY clear to your server what you want to do and check your reciepts.

That is actually a good idea. My kids still prefer kids meals in a couple of locations, although they did love the regular DP last year :)

Wow this is GREAT! I have been debating on getting the DDP because DS will be 10 and doesn't really eat adult meals. This will be perfect! :goodvibes
With CS I thought we could do Cosmic Ray's or other places and get him the adult meal and he could share with his sister (4) and then save those credits too.

You can get very creative with saving your credits. I found this to be a great way to stretch the plan out to cover the last day for dining. We now book later flights home just to be sure we get the best value out of any plan we get. It's also a good way to do some 2credit dining and not miss a meal if you plan it right.

Thanks so much for this tip! I had no idea you could do this.
My DD turns 10 this year and she would prefer kids meals at some of our TS.
This is why I love the DIS! :disrocks:

We did this one year when we were on the regular plan. I POP for meals that were priced at $7.49 and used the plan for buffet and character meals that were priced higher. :)

This is a very helpful thread! I was wondering what to do since my party is splitting up so only the girls/women do CRT (boys aren't interested in the princesses). Since it's a 2 TS meal and the boys will probably just do CS, we can rearrange the remaining TS's to get another meal altogether. I guess the only distinction is between adult and child, right?

On the deluxe plan, they don't distinguish between adult and child credits, but on the regular plan, you are correct - you would only have extra child credits if the children eat at a 1 credit place and the adults eat at a 2 credit place.
