So I need to make a decision should we go to Artist Point or Jiko on this upcoming trip? I keep going back and forth on the menu at Jiko, especially feeding my PICKY daughter. I know she could eat off of the children's menu at Artist Point without a problem. Does anyone have an opinion they would like to offer?
I really would like to try the appetizer that Kevin raves about at Jiko but we are staying at AKL and I figure hey, I can go sit in the bar of Jiko and order that some evening.
Thanks!

I haven't dined at Jiko, but the meal I had at Artist Point was EXCELLENT. I love, love, loved the buffalo. Everything was just fantastic! :thumbsup2

We talked it over and after looking at the menus that were available we decided to cancel Jiko and book Artist Point. I think our daughter will be happier at Artist Point and it actually puts us near the Magic Kingdom which is open until 11pm that evening. So after eating dinner at 7:10 we can hope over to MK for a little while. My family is all about shutting down the parks in the evening.
I haven't been back to WL since we stayed there and I LOVE it there. I'm hoping by going there to eat everyone will remember how wonderful it is and agree to stay there again. I'm sneaky that way!

I LOVE Artist Point. I always get the portabella mushroom soup (delicious) and the Copper River Salmon. I really love the food and the atmosphere is so relaxing to me. I went to JIKO a long time ago and didn't think it was that great, but vey pricey. I have heard the chef changed since then and I am planning on going back my next trip. Have fun!!!

Well, you've already made the call, but you can't go wrong with either...Jiko is just a slight favorite above Artist Point, but both a great! Hit Jiko on your next trip, tho!

No contest, I would have picked Jiko. Both for food and atmosphere. I have tried lots of their menu items and have never been disappointed. The food I've had at Artist Point has been nothing special for me.

I will go out and recommend Artist Point - haven't been to Jiko's but mmmmm man, AP is just amazing. What an experience we had there in August.

I had a really nice meal at Artist Point in December. The buffalo was very good - yes it tastes like beef and was prepared very well with a cherry/chocolate reduction. I have also eaten the salmon there and enjoyed it. Their signature salad is very nice, very much northwest influenced. Their cobbler dessert is also good. If you like wine, some of their NW wine selections are very nice.
I think you will enjoy Artist Point and your DD will like the atmosphere - especially the paintings / murals. Also the view can be very nice at sunset, you may also be able to see the Electrical Water Pagent float by.
You probably would also be fine at Jiko, their kids menu has stuff that kids like.

Artist Point was our absolute favorite (I could live on the mushroom soup voluntarily!:lovestruc) but after our trip in October Jiko was moved up the list to number 1!
The last couple of times at Artist Point were really kind of spotty for us. Once we had incredibly bad service and cold entrees(Oct). We tried again in Dec and got overcooked steaks and what had to be the absolute bottom scrapings from the pot of mushroom soup....:sad2:
The sad thing is, I'd still go back. I'm forever hopeful that way.

Sigh. That's sad to hear (about AP). It had been our favorite for years. And then they started playing with the menu items we loved. Eliminating the Venison Spring Rolls appetizer, the Coffee Two Ways desert, the Pork Chop on Tillamook Mac n Cheese. We haven't been there in the last 4 visits to WDW. We're trying Jiko in March.

I do love Jikos. But with DD, you know what she likes to eat. Heading back to Mk on the boat from Wilderness lodge after AP dinner makes for a nice night. Since you are staying at AK, you might end up with a Jiko dinner you did not plan!

Although I haven't personally gone to Artist Point yet, I don't think you could go wrong with either restaurant. Jiko is one of our favorites. The food and service there has always been just wonderful. I am sure the chef would accomodate your picky eater's needs as well.
