Where is the closest grocery store to WDW. I am staying at the All Stars and want to buy Dannon bottle water. I usually go to Walmart but not sure if they would have it.

Publix Groceries Store.
I think the website is Publix.com, which will locate the nearest store by address and map.
I think the one is located south of HIFS on Rte 192, is closest to the Allstars Resort.
You can buy a foam cooler to keep in your car and bottle water at reasonable prices.
Also there is a Publix near Sea World, so driving from the airport you can stop at either one.

If you exit WDW on World Center Drive it will take you to S International drive. Make a left onto Int drive (going straight will take you to airport). Follow Int drive a couple miles up to Central Fla Pkwy , make right and there is a Publix about 1/4 mile on the right.
NOTE:
When exiting on World center drive bear to the left, DO NOT get on I4 , shortly after I4 you will see Marriott Word Center on your left & Holiday Inn Family Suites on you right. Keep going straight untill you see Int Drive.

Goodings have a store at the Crossroads Shopping mall, near Disney DownTown (2 minutes drive away), closer to WDW than the previously mentioned Publix. The Crossroads centre is at the junction at the south end of Hotel Plaza Boulevard.

Another is on West US 192 in the Maingate area, about 2 miles west of the junction with World Centre Drive.

If you're onsite, the Crossroads store is your closest option, the one on 192 is bigger, better stocked and a little cheaper as I recall.

Goodings is ok for things that carry a standard price like Entenmanns or Hostess donuts but on other things LOOK OUT ! Most other items are way out of hand pricewise, sometimes more than double.

You're welcome Buzz ! :teeth:

And Thanks MK ! I try to add bit of Austen-like flair to my posts ;)

Bigs1923t, I dont think I've ever shopped at Publix. I usually stay at the Sheraton Fourpoints Lakeside on West US 192 when I visit Disneyville, and the big Goodings is right opposite, and to be honest I think its a great store.

However there's a Publix about 3, 4 miles away, if its that much better I'd make the journey. How much difference in price does there tend to be ? Selection better ?

Any info would be appreciated ! Thanks !

There is a brand new Publix next to the Premium Outlet Mall, which, as the crow flies is just across I4 from Crossroads.

It opened on June 27th., according to the Publix website.

Its at the Regency Village Shopping Centre, 8145 Vineland Ave. Its also accessible from the bottom of International Drive.

That'll save you a drive!

Thanks Malcolm, forgot about that one. they were building it when we were there in March. Beejay dont know about Goodings on 192 but the one at crossroads I would say is at least 30% higher than Publix.

There's a Walmart on 192 in Kissimmee. It's about 7 miles east of I4 but their prices can't be beat! :) :) There is a full service supermarket inside too! You can find everything you're looking for there!

In my four visits to Orlando, we've been most happy with Publix. It's much less expensive than Goodings, although there is nothing wrong with that store. Publix has a nicer deli though, in my opinion and a greater variety of things to choose from. Plus my husband won't visit Orlando without the chance to eat Publix fried chicken (bought in the deli) on our first night in town! It's the best! Have fun! :D

We're with you Cindiu. We do 90% of our food shopping at Publix. Much nicer experience than Wal*Mart.

Just got back from Fort Myers/Sanibel pass through Orlando, Fort Myers FLA. newspaper had an article that Winn-Dixie is matching Publix price but you have to get a member card.
Took the soutern route out of mco and stopped at the Publix one mile south of HIFS. and bought supplies for the trip to Fort myers. they and Walmart are selling a Thermal ice bag that holds up to 30 pounds cans and ice. It goes for 2.99 to 3.99 and snaps close plus can be folded after dried in the suit case. We used it to bring ice and beverages in the car each day.
Note: We returned to today from Fort Myers in a rain storm about 11:30am on I4 and traffic was at a stand still at the I192 exit for Disney and Celebration so we took RTE 417 back to MCO but had to pay tolls ( 3.50) which was worth it and exit 10 John Young pkwy had gas for 1.35 gal 31/2 miles from MCO. also ST. Regis Hotel is being built not to far away, It has to be the tallest Resort in the area.

OOOOOH!
I got to get some sleep, nighty nite.
