So, I decided to do this....I'm feeling better about myself on the inside, now want to feel better about myself on the OUTSIDE. Little about me....I just turned 36 years old, been battling weight for a long time, and I'm tired of it. I had good success with nutrasystem, it just costs WAY too much. So....I got myself a treadmill from a lady at work, and a pair of sketchers shape up shoes, boy do they WORK, and have been going to town. Here's me....this was at disney on Dec 19th, and was at my max weight of 173.

http://i373.photobucket.com/albums/oo176/tylerbugmom/seaworldchristmasdisney015.jpg

That's also my hubby, he's been WONDERFUL thru all this. So, as of this morning, I am at 168, and feeling good. I walked for 30 minutes on the treadmill before going to work, and am sore cause those shoes REALLY work. I made good choices in food, and almost limited my portions....another big deal for me! :rolleyes1 I had a bowl of special k for breakfast, and a small portion of marie callenders parmesan chicken for lunch. I had a bag of the special k crackers for a snack, and I made beef tips with mushrooms, and peas and pasta roni for dinner. I stayed away from the chocolate at work, for now. Lets see how long the will power lasts!!

So, here is my plan. I have a closet full of size 12 pants, that I can't wear, and I would LIKE to wear them, soon!!! So...my short term goal is another 5 lbs by the end of next month. Walking on the treadmill will help my goals, and I do it before work. So, there's no excuses. When I go in at 9 in the morning, it's easy, I put DS on the bus at 7:20, get on the treadmill for a 1/2 hour, then get in the shower before work. I'm guaranteed to go in 2 to 3 times a week, so if I do it on those days, it'll be easier for me. DH is getting ready to be deployed, so that'll make walking on the weekends easier. So....this morning, I walked for 30 minutes, and went 1.43 miles. I would like to start the walk to disney, just need to get the distance, and will post that later. Please, all help me in this journey, it's a big step for me, and any support is well appreciated!!!

Welcome! Looks like you have a good plan in place and this is an excellent area to get support.

I've heard of those Sketchers shoes and always wondered if they worked. It's an intriguing concept.

Oh, they work alright!! They're SUPER comfy, and don't hurt the joints like the knees or ankles, which is a plus for me, and the back part of my thighs and lower butt are sore today!!! VERY sore!! Not something I was getting with my regular shoes. But, of course I'll keep ya'll posted on how the shoes are doing. I'm eating my special k for breakfast now....glad i like that stuff! HAHA

walked 1.51 miles this morning....been doing only a half hour on the treadmill, hopefully i'll get less and less sore as the time goes along. As for the challenge of walking to disney, I'm at 2.94 out of 60.03 TO disney, I'll walk back too :) I should have time before june!!! HAHAHAHA Weight this morning was 166.5!!! :)

Those shoes sound pretty cool. I'll be setting up a walking schedule with a friend when we get back from our cruise, so I might check them out. I have trouble finding workout shoes because I live in flip flops since we moved to FL and my footsies don't like being enclosed now.

Keep up the walking! Hopefully the Special K will work out as well as it does in those commercials.

Sorry I haven't been on in a while, DH has been home, so been spending time with him before he deploys for 2 months. I fell off the wagon a bit, but I"m back on as of Saturday. I got back up to 169, and this morning, I'm 166!! I have been walking still, and I'm at 7.56 miles out of 60.03 miles to disney. I'm eating my special K now....and getting ready to head to work!!!! :)

walked 1.59 miles this morning. I keep upping the mph on the treadmill, when I started this, i was at 2.5 mph, and now i'm at 3.2!!! I've touched the chocolate at work, but not too much. I've been good for the most part there. Another little background on me, I have a rare type of Muscular Dystrophy, it's called FSH, it's in my face, shoulders, hips and ankles. Not to the point to where I'm wheelchair bound, yet. I hope I got another 20 years before that!! :) But, exercise is hard for me, and I can't do too much, so this walking is a very big deal for me. my dr's say the more i use my muscles, the less I'll lose them, so any exercise is obviously good for me!! Anyways, eating my special k.....almost time for work!!! Have a good day everyone!!!

thanks!!! It helps having support. I HATE dieting, and weight issues, and all that....so it helps to have people who are going thru the same battles as I am!!!

Put me down for another 1.54 miles....total 10.69/60.03 to disney!!! I haven't tried my size 12's yet, haven't gotten on the scale for a few days...but I feel different in my belly. Upper part of my belly anyways. It's getting smaller....so baby steps!!! My size 14's are getting loose, so that's a good sign!!!

did 1.65 this morning in 30 mins....got up to the point that I was running for a couple of minutes....which is a big step for me!! I HATE to run!!! So, I'm at 12.34 out of 60.03 in the walk to Disney challenge, so I'm getting there, slowly but surely. This friday is the big test for my jeans.....so I need to get in the walking and fat burning while I can!!!! :) Yesterday I made good food choices, my special K for breakfast, a banana and cottage cheese for lunch, and lean beef and broccoli for dinner. Haven't weighed in yet, but will work on that soon. Have a good day everyone!!!

Hey Barb!!! I hope you had a good time on your cruise!!! Yea, it is amazing what you can do if you push yourself, and if you have the drive!!! I feel great, work is going good, and life is generally good. Which is weird, cause my husband is deployed, I'm usually REALLY down when he leaves!! Next week is gonna be tough with the walking, I'll have to do it at night, which I haven't done before, have to go down to Palm Bay for new accounts training....but I'll get it done!! :) I am a little sore today....so I'll probably take it easy. Got a BBQ at my dad's house this weekend, that's gonna be tough to make good decisions, but I hope I can manage!!!

on another note....got on the scale this morning....164.5!!!! WOOHOO!!!! First goal is tomorrow, getting into my jeans, can I do it? I'll take a picture if I can!! :)

I have faith you'll make it into those jeans! :thumbsup2

And as long as you plan ahead on some good choices, it will be easier to do well at that BBQ.

I talked to my step mom last night, her and my dad are doing south beach diet, so there will be some good choices there. Plus I'm gonna get up and walk in the morning before I go up there. They're in New Smyrna, which is 45 mins north of here. I also got volunteered to make the cake, I got the apple cake from Tastefully Simple, so hopefully it's not TOO bad!! My DH is working out about 2 hours a day right now....since he's deployed, he has to. He comes home and is very ripped. I love it!! :) Anyways, gotta go get the rugrat up and see if those jeans fit!! If they do, I'll post a picture. I have seen some difference in my face....and the girls at work are noticing too! :) Have a happy friday!!!!!

I didn't do too bad at the bbq, they grilled a whole pig, and I tried to get the less fatty pieces. I had lots of carrots before dinner, so I could get some good stuff in me before the meal. And I didn't eat that much, got interrupted by my brother trying to figure out microsoft word to write a letter for his friend, so I was in there helping him with that, came back out to my plate, and lost interest. So I didn't eat but half my dinner!! :)

This morning, I walked for 25 minutes, only did 1.42 miles, had to go potty!! LOL So I got off 5 mins early. I'm at 13.76 miles on my walk to disney. The rest of the week is gonna be hard, I got new accounts training tomorrow and wednesday, and then thursday and friday I go in early to work....so I'll have to find something to dig out to do at night, maybe a good time to dig out the wii fit!!! :)

Have a happy monday everyone!

Thanks Barb, I am!!!! My DH is deployed, and I've been emailing him, he comes home next week, so he's in for a surprise!!! I haven't walked since last monday, my schedule hasn't allowed it, and I HATE walking at night, so I gotta get back on the bandwagon with that. We went to AK yesterday, and I had a mickey bar. A moment of weakness!!! LOL But, Scale is still my friend today. I close tomorrow at work, so I'll get back to the walking. Thanks for the support!!!!

Those Mickey bars can indeed be a killer (they are free on the Disney ships so it's even worse there although I usually manage to avoid them). The good thing is, AK is a part where you do a LOT of walking.

Yea, I did do alot of walking....BUT, my ds smacked my nose with his hard head, and fractured my nose!!! I went to the dr earlier, and it is indeed fractured. My head has been killing me!!! But, I'm gonna walk tomorrow, start slow, and see how my head does. UG!!

Owwww is right!!! My headache is STILL there!!! Even with Lortabs, it doesn't totally go away. They said it'd be like this for a few days, but man, I'm a wus when it comes to pain!! :) My allergies are going nuts, and my nose itches, so that doesn't help matters either LOL Ah well. Accidents happen!!!

I tried to walk yesterday, and didn't make it too far. My head was just pounding. So I'm gonna try again friday, see how I do. Anyways, have a good afternoon!!!

Finally got to walk this morning, a good 30 minutes, and I stepped up my pace, did 3.5 mph. did 1.75 miles in 30 mins. WHEW!!! My head is okay. Sinus is just draining blood flakes now....I guess it's my nose's way of getting rid of the crap that is inside there. It's annoying, but if it gets the bad stuff out, I'll deal. My dh comes home next week!! WOOHOO!!!! So I'm at 16.84/60.03 , miles of my trek to disney.....I'll get there some day. Haven't gotten on the scale, I'll do that after I get out of the shower. I've been doing okay on the eating.....so we'll see. I'm totally in my size 12 pants, all of them. So soon I might have to get size 10!!! That would be nice. Anyways.....I hope everyone has a wonderful friday....and keep up the good work!!!!

Keep focusing on that size 10. :thumbsup2

Yea....I'm focusing!!! Scale still said 162 this morning, but DH came home earlier than I thought he was, and he notices a HUGE difference in me. So that was nice, made me feel good. My parents are coming down tonight, so we'll see what they say!!! Anyways, hope you're out enjoying the nice weather....and have a good rest of the weekend!

19.79/60.03 to disney. Scale this morning said 159.5!!!! Goal reached a day early!!! WOOHOO!!!!! not sure what my next goal should be, or how long, need to think on that one today!! LOL maybe down to 155 in 3 more weeks?? Sounds good to me!!! I feel good, and the girls at work are starting to see it more and more in my face, and I see it when I look in the mirror. DH wants to get an eliptical, so maybe that'll be something different other than the treadmill that I can do. I'll keep ya posted!!

Sorry I haven't posted in a while, DH has been home, DS had FCATS, and life just gets in the way!! I'm still walking, I'm at 29.75/60.03 on my walk to disney, and I'm at 155lbs as of this morning, so 18 lbs gone!! Feels pretty good, but I still feel like I look fat. I don't view myself any different. Even tho everyone notices. I guess you're the last person to notice it on YOU! LOL Hope you're hanging in there, and have a happy monday!!
