She has the flesh eating bacteria between the fat and the muscle of her thigh! She will be having another surgery Mon by the ortho surgeon.
This is the same family that had the emergency heart surgery around the same time last year!

Today....

Pixie dust to your friend, Rita!

I'm working today. Same crap, different day.

We went to Ikea yesterday for the first time! I was very very overwhelmed, but we managed to find a desk and chair, and a dresser for M's room (that just have to be put together, not stained twice and polyurethaned!!). She was DYING for a loft bed, but we hadn't measured the ceilings before we left (we've only lived here 15+ years, you expect us to know how tall our ceilings are?), and I'm glad we didn't get it, because it was too tall. So, now I'm on the hunt for a "reasonably" priced loft bed. Her room is super small and it would give her so much more space, but I don't want to pay a small fortune for a bed, which she already has. Had DH listened to me 4 years ago when we redid her room the last time, she'd already have a loft bed, but NO...Just goes to show you that sometimes I do know what I'm talking about!

Anyhow, I hope everyone has a wonderful day.

AR - thoughts are with you and your friend and her family - scary stuff!
SIOH - I was Polly too, last week! This one will be better - less stuff going on and much more spread out - whew!
Buffy - good luck - that is a long stretch!

Nice weekend - good blend of chores and fun stuff!

Not a bad list today - busy, but not crazy-busy. DH left me the car so I can get errands done. Weaning myself off the meds from the car crash - am waiting for email/call back from the neurologist. I won't/can't tolerate the side effects anymore - need to do something different and will just go back to OTC stuff for the headaches in the meantime. Waiting for email/calls back from the school too - need changes for DS. So, the week may "busy up" fast, but at least it is starting out ok! And CKC signups are this week !

Buffy~ Good luck! Youre a super mom and you can do it!
We'll all help you stay focused! Do you find that you get more done with or without DH?

Pam~ sorry to hear that your meds arent working but Im in the same boat, do not do side effects and would rather go without!
(BFs bp was too low and they couldnt give her pm's until after the surgery, or wouldnt!)

Thanks everyone for your support!

I'm all for the loft bed. I just wish DH had listened to me...Now he's saying that even 6 feet is too tall, so I give up. She's keeping what she's got and she's gonna be happy with it. :rolleyes1

DisneyIsTerrific
01-25-2010, 10:09 AM
MM, too bad you don't live closer because DS has a loft bed and wants to get rid of it! He has a loft bed/bunk bed combination where you can set it up like bunk beds or as a loft bed and then the other bed separate. He's always had them separate and the loft one just stores junk and clothes right now!

morgansmom2000
01-25-2010, 10:15 AM
Argh! Just another reason why I should move closer to you :) Do we know anyone driving from FL to New England??

tinkryansmom
01-25-2010, 10:17 AM
OHHHHH - MM - maybe you could turn the bed offer into a trip to WDW:woohoo::cool1: Course buying the other bed would be cheaper...:)

Monday

Plans just changed - glad I didn't post when I read through this thread a little while ago.

Won't complain though - surveryors are coming to get additional topo info they need to finish up the site plan!!!

So....

DD is up and out
Pig is fed
DD wanted school lunch:confused3
DH is out
Watched weather
Rebooted laundry

Gots ta:

Call vet - won't be there by 10 to PU meds
Call horse instructor - dry enough to ride?
shower
paper clutter - made a dent but I think it regenerates while I sleep!
Print out Passport renewal applications
Print out new cruise ressie confirmation - I could not stand it - upgraded to different category.
PU girls from bus if riding

IF going to Madera - meds from vet? grocery store
IF not going - change dinner menu!

DH has 4H leaders council mtg tonight so he won't be home tonight - dinner with my girls!!

OH!! DD won 2nd in her division "Made with a Mix" at the 4H Favorite Foods Day with the Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Muffins!! She was so excited. Everyone loved them - she only gave up one point out of 25 for "appearance". She was beat by a castle cake. YAY! DIS recipe sharing Peeps!!

Congrats!!! (There is room on the site plan for your scrapping wing of the house, right?) :lmao:

tinkryansmom
01-25-2010, 11:19 AM
Thanks All!

So excited they are actually doing something on the house!

And yes, though not technically a "scrap" room - this house does have an "activity" room at the end of the hall by the girls bedrooms - its just an open room with no doors. We plan on making it the homework, crafty, gamey, scrappy room! :woohoo:

Sigh...DH just emailed me...They are cutting his hours again. He's going back to 32 hours the second week of February. Don't know what this means for our cruise, but if he's still only at 32 hours when the airlines finally start selling in November, we may have to rethink it.

TB~ watch those kidneys and plz call dr if this persists!

Update~
Michelle (BF) kidneys and bp look good and for some reason her hand hurts which they say is a good sign.
Her next surgery is at 130 (its 1220 in AZ right now) so if you can please send a little thought her way at that time.
DH just left to go be with her DH. BFDH needs my DH to be there more than me to be there so I'll go up after kids are home from school.
I think this is the surgery where they decide if she gets to keep the leg.

Hi Everyone
This is what we know for right now...
Dr was same surgeon as yesterday, dont know what happened there (but he is nice)
found more than he wanted to, did what he had to do there
had to take a flap of skin so there will be a graft in the future
keeping her ventilated for tonight
another surgery tomorrow at 730am, I dont know if its to look for more or what
Dr made it very clear that we are nor out of the woods yet, possible loss of leg or death still possible
will be in ICU indefinitely

So please continue to include MIchelle in your prayers
Thanks for listening
