Gosh that title took me forever to think of, not even sure if I like it still
Hello and Welcome to my (or our as DF will be popping in and out from time to time) PTR for our third, second first trip to the World! Confused? Let me explain.
We first discovered the magic :wizard: together (DF had been 13yrs before, but that doesn't count in my book) in September of 2007 where we immediately fell in love and had the time of our lives :cloud9:
So after a fantastic trip the year before, we decided what could be better than celebrating Christmas 2008 early at WDW? We researched and found that the first two weeks of Dec were supposed to be quite! Wrong!!! It was so crowded, all resorts were near full to capacity, not to mention I had the stinky rotten flu, thereby making this second trip not so magical :sad1:
So now we are hoping that the third times the charm and have decided to recreate our first trip by pretending its our first ever vacation at Disney :woohoo:
Oh my! Where are my manners, I haven't even introduced ourselves.
This is me:
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y231/WildIllusion86/IMG_2309-1.jpg
Stefy, I'm 24 this year (boo) and love everything Disney.
My fav Character is Stitch because he is just too cool and too cute.
My fav Princess is Belle.
My fav park is MK (but Epcot comes a close second)
Thats enough about me, now time to introduce the love of my life :lovestruc
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y231/WildIllusion86/IMG_1340.jpg
DF Dave, he's 25 this year (lucky so and so gets to celebrate his birthday at the World, again!) and is also a Disney fanatic.
His fav Character is Goofy
His fav park is MK as he says that that is what Disney is all about, that and PhilharMagic (his fav ride).
This is us in 2007
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y231/WildIllusion86/MeDaveOutsideCastle.jpg
and 2008
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y231/WildIllusion86/image240-1.jpg
So thats the introductions out of the way. Hope you still here :goodvibes
So after uhm-ing and ah-ing and yes-ing and no-ing, we decided to book our "third" trip for September/October 2010. The official dates are 29th September to 14th October.
Flights have been booked, flying with Virgin going Premium Economy (love flying PE, so worth the extra money if you get to fly in the Bubble).
There was much deliberation over where we should stay, as UK Disney had not released any offers for September 2010. So we thought why not stay at a deluxe, as on our previous trips we stayed at CBR and CSR (Loved CBR, CSR not so much). So AKL was the first option, as we both loved the resort and the theme, not to mention it was the cheapest deluxe option available. Then free dining came out and we priced up AKL again, but noticed that the Poly was working out at a good deal because of FD (this is one of our fav resorts). Ecstatically happy and pleased with ourselves :yay: we decided to go for it. So now we are staying for 14 glorious nights and are counting down the days til we get there.
Next Dining.

With free dining, we weighed up our options of upgrading to the Deluxe Dining Plan and thought, screw it lets go for it. So now we have 42 credits, counter or table, at our disposal for the whole duration of the trip popcorn::popcorn::popcorn::
Being the obsessive planner that I am, we have already narrowed down dinner for the first 13 nights. We want to eat off property another night when we go to US/IoA
Here are the restaurants we are hoping to get ADR's for:
Kona Cafe - PR - 1TS - Breakfast
Ohana Best Friend Breakfast - PR - 1TS
Princess Storybook Dining at Akershus - Epcot: Norway - 1TS - Breakfast
Crystal Palace - MK - 1TS - Breakfast

Being that I haven't been in 15 years I can't offer too much :) So much has changed---and I haven't had any kind of dining experiences. I have been to the 50's Prime Time Cafe that's at MGM (Now Disney Hollywood Studios) but I still call it MGM. That was a fun experience. And I've been to Cinderella's Royal Table.

Wow 15yrs! But I see that you are going in June this year, must be v exciting :)
We are really looking forward to CRT as I heard that the experice is great and its eating in the castle, what is more Disney than that.
50's Prime Time, it does sound good to me, but not sure I am all for the whole mum experience at the dinner table.

Okay, read the intro and dining and loving both! What a great start to your pre-trippie!
You and your DF are such a cute couple!
I am so happy for you that the Poly worked out for you! Staying at a Monorail Resort is such a convenience. We stayed at the Contemporary Resort once and LOVED it. I would love to stay at the CR again, but then Tower room and Magic Kingdom view or BLT with a MK view, but so far Disney.uk made the race with its offer for OKW. Can't beat the 900+ square feet! ;)
Your dining plans look yummy! I can only recommend Sanaa - the one Tom wants to go back to twice next summer! But we'll see what gets changed and changed and changed again in the next 8 months!
Happy planning!!
Stefy

Aww thanx :)
DF really really wants to stay at CR, BLT even more so. Have never really looked into OKW, but that amount of space sounds awesome :)

The Poly:lovestruc It is my dream to stay there!! It never works out though due to the amount of people in our group, we always need to get a room that sleeps 5 or 6.
Sounds like a fun trippopcorn::

It has always been our dream to stay at the PR too, can't believe we are actually doing it TBH.
Well maybe when your next trip includes just a few, you can try out the Poly :)

Ok, this is my last post and then I have to sign out :surfweb:
Am posting a non related trip post (sorta).
Whenever I go away I always buy new clothes for the trip. I can't go too mad this year though because of how much this trip is costing. DF is lucky though, as he gets all his stuff when we are in Florida.
So I have come up with a mini plan of sorts, in that I am going to buy one t shirt a month until we leave. But these are not just any t shirts no, these are Disney t shirts and I thought I would share them with you as this PTR progresses. So far I have bought three in two month (two were on sale and combined were the price of one t shirt).
So here are my tees so far:
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y231/WildIllusion86/006.jpg http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y231/WildIllusion86/007.jpg
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y231/WildIllusion86/008.jpg
What you think?
We are also watching Disneys again (have loads of DVD and a few on Blu-ray) to keep us in the spirit of all things Disney.
We started today with Snow White on BR and I love it, such a classic film and the music and songs, not to mention it shows up rather well on BR :cloud9:
We viewed it in Disney View, which is pretty awesome where it puts borders on the older films that aren't wide screen compatible. So instead of black edges, you get a border which changes dependent on the scene you are watching, for instance when Snow White is running in the woods the border changes to dark sharp branches to match the trees.
Looking at what we have to watch I can never pick one film out to watch, so we have come up with the idea of watching the films in the order that they were released cinematically, hence why we started with Walt's first ever Disney Animated Classic.
So I thought, as we go along we could discuss the movies etc :)
Anywho, I am done for now, so goodnight and godbless :goodvibes

Hey!!! I'm so excited to read all your plans!
First of all, you guys are the CUTEST!!!
Soooo exciting to be staying at Poly, isn't it? Tom and I stayed there for our honeymoon and it was like being in a completely different world! As wonderful as the other resorts are, there is just something about the Poly, with all the plants around you, being on the monorail, walking distance to the TTC for Epcot...just so beautiful and convenient, worth every penny, if you can swing it!
Congrats on the deluxe dining too! We have eaten at a lot of the places you mentioned. We loved 'Ohana so much, we made an ADR for our mini-trip just 2 months later. Good luck getting everything you want!
Whenever I go away I always buy new clothes for the trip.
So far I have bought three in two month (two were on sale and combined were the price of one t shirt).
This is so funny because I do the same thing!! I NEVER buy new clothes until I have a trip planned! And I LOVE your rationale for buying 3 shirts in 2 months right after you said you were only going to buy 1 shirt each month! Too funny!

Now I am not too up on what to do in PTR's as I have only ever done the one TR. Feel free to chime in with questions or suggestions on what to do :thumbsup2
So I thought I would start with a Wishlist/To Do List. I have been taking notes down as I have read other Disers TR's and other random threads around the board. Some things I never even knew existed. I will do them in a list format and go from there me thinks
Wishlist
Parks
Kim Possible - Epcot - DF is not so keen on this, but it looks like it could be alot of fun, esp with the different things that happen in each country.
Exposition Hall - Photo Ops - I heard that there is an area off to the side of Tony's in EH where you can take really cool pics like standing in the claw machine from Toy Story with the little Aliens (love those little guys).
Burn Off - Epcot - I heard about this and was v intrigued. Does anyone know anything about this, what time it roughly takes place etc?
Kiss Goodnight - Again something I heard on the boards that sounds like a must watch, but still do not know too much about it. Anyone?
Animation Studio - Loads of Disers have tried this and posted their efforts. It looks like so much fun and we can't wait to try it out. Hopefully we can get to draw Stitch.
Great Piggy Bank Adventure - Epcot - This also looks like alot of fun.
Disney Art - We have started to look into this as I was talking to DF about wanting to buy some paintings/pictures for when we move into our own place and he came across this awesome website of different artists who paint Disney characters. There is this one artist that uses a Monet like style with Classic Winnie the Pooh. So I figured why not see what some of the stores in Disney do. I doubt we will buy any just yet, but its always nice to have a look.
Dessert Party - We are hoping that this gets extended for this year and it looks awesome and being a mad cake lover looks like heaven, esp when you also get to watch Wishes. Fireworks and dessert, what could be better than that I tell you!
TRex pictures - We won't be eating here, but I have heard that you can still check out the restaurant if you are not dining. Is it possible and can you see most of the restaurant without looking strange by just walking around and taking pics?
Souvenirs
Grand Floridian Lower Level Gift Shop - I have heard that this particular shop stocks Disney Fairytale Wedding products and I have to check it out. Originally when I noted that down, we were thinking of having a DFTW, but have decided to get married here in the UK. But that doesn't stop me wanting to add some Disney magic to it, so would love to see what kind of stuff they sell.
Park CD's - I don't know too much about these, but am assuming that you get music thats played in different areas of the park on them? If we want the fireworks music too is that included on there, or do we have to get a separate CD?
Beads - POFQ - I am currently obssessed with Mardi Gras right now and have said to DF I want to go to POFQ to get some beads. He thinks I am mad and I most prob am, but I don't care. Does the gift shop stock these and are there lots of different varieties?
Leis - PR - Am hoping we will get these upon check in and don't have to ask for them.
Mickey Head Balloon - I know you are most prob thinking :rolleyes2 but they are so cool looking and I want one
Resorts
Torch Lighting Ceremony - PR - Am looking forward to seeing this as its supposed to be pretty cool. Must get the times down before we go. I have heard that the Poly also do their own kind of newsletter with schedules/times of what goes on at the resort. Do we just ask for that on check in?
Electrical Water Pageant - From other Disers pics it looks really cool, so am hoping to make use of our new camera and take some nice pics of this show.
Butterfly Garden - CR - Never even knew this place existed and I am just fascinated by butterflies and can't wait to find this place (hopefully it won't be too hard to find).
So what do you guys think?
I was also thinking, to pass the time, that I might include our previous trips here, just to reminisce.

YAY, you made it :cheer2:
We are sooooooooooo excited to be staying at the Poly. We never dreamed that we would be able to stay there this early (we figured we would stay moderate for the first few trips then save up and go Deluxe.
Do you know one thing I never thought of when choosing the Poly was the transportation. It never crossed my mind, for me it was more about the theming and the fact that it was such a gorgeous resort, the fact that it is a monorail resort is a bonus.
Oh yes, Ohana's is a great restaurant, I'll bet for you guys it will be like a must do restaurant every time you go because of all the memories :)
One thing I forgot to add to that list was to get a dress from Polynesian Princess. Inspired by yourself, when you bought one on your honeymoon trip :)
In my defence those last two tees were on sale, so in theory it was like paying for one t shirt, but getting two :rotfl:

Wow you guys are too cute!! Your trip sounds like it's going to be a blast!!!
The Kiss Goodnight happens way after the park closes. Usually Main St stays open an hour after official park close...kiss good night after that.
The Burn Off at EPCOT happens around the same time, about an hour (or more) after park close.
Excited to read more!!:cool1:

Great Piggy Bank Adventure:confused3
This is a cool game in Epcot Innoventions West. Its to teach the importance of financial planning. You go around with a lil piggy bank trying to save money for a future goal e.g. pension, holiday etc. Its all played via interactive games.

We can't wait to go, I come on the boards everyday and always repeat back to DF what it says on my ticker
Oooh looking forward to seeing Kiss Goodnight, sounds like it will be really cute to see :)
Burn Off sounds like a must see, I have heard that CM's love to watch peoples reactions when it happens, as it is supposed to be pretty loud and scare the pants off you

I know, we went a bit overboard, but what the hey why not. We figure that we won't be back for a while after this one as we are supposed to be getting married next year.
I have a plan in that I am going to eat small portions and try not to snack. I will try and tell myself you can snack all you want on the awesome Goofy Candy treats ;)

So carrying on with our Walt Disney Classic Film countdown. Tonights film was Pinocchio. I haven't seen this since I was little. I love Jiminy Cricket, so cute :)
DF thinks that the Blue Fairy may have been modelled off of Marilyn Monroe, she sure is pretty and sparkly though :)
Don't like Monstro, he is one mean whale I tell you. Must have been quite scary for kids at the time what with the dramatic music and such.
I love When You Wish Upon a Star, if we manage to get fireworks for our wedding reception I am hoping we can play that while they go off.

We figured since the second trip was a bit of a bust we had to make the next one extra special to make up for it :thumbsup2. We loved the dining plan on our first trip as it included appetisers, entree and desert and were dissappointed when they took the apps away a year later. So that was another way of recreating the magic of the first trip. That and the fact that im a greedy fat guy in a skinny guys body who loves a good three course meal

So lucky to be staying at the Poly. I so wish we could stay there. We are staying at WL this September.
Great dining plans. We tried GF Cafe for the first time last year. It was great. I can't believe we missed it all these years. Love Kona too for breakfast. It's one of our favorites. You had a lot of great choices.
We loved the Great Piggy Bank Adventure. We did that for the first time last year too. It was a ton of fun.
Love the Animation Studio. I keep hoping to get to draw Mickey but each time we've gone, it was never Mickey. Oh well, reason to go back again!
Have you thought about a Wishes Cruise? We did that last September and it was awesome. The electric water parade was fabulous to see on the boat.

Glad you could make it :goodvibes Thinking back on CBR I really enjoyed staying there, even if the numerous bus stops were a bit of a drag. It was so colourful and tropical feeling. Loved the music on the bus as well, reminded me of "Under the Sea" from the Little Mermaid.
Its the first time we are trying the GF Cafe and am looking forward to it as the decor looks pretty and the food looks good too. Can't wait to try Kona's for breakfast (only ever done dinner), have already decided what I want to get, The Big Kahuna with some Lilikoi juice to wash it down.
I can't wait to do Great Piggy Bank Adv and Animation Studio. Although DF not so much GPBA, anything to do with numbers he is not to fond of.
I love the t shirts and can't wait to get more. On one website I have a wishlist of the ones I want to get and I think there are about 10 Disney ones on there :rolleyes1

Gosh, what was it like back then? I love how the Poly is one of the original hotels, wouldn't have figured it to be though.
Well thats it for now, have to go to the evil place where they keep my pay cheque. Stay tuned, am hoping to add some more bits here and there later on tonight.
Aloha for now

I think you will like the GF Cafe. DH and I were kicking ourselves when we realized what we have been missing all these years! It's now a must do for us. Our meal was fantastic and the wait staff was amazing.
We went there for our anniversary dinner. I then surprised him with a Wishes Cruise after dinner. My family and friends met up with us and we sailed together. It was fantastic.
It would be wonderful if you'd join me on my PTR. I'd like to hear what you think of our plans so far. Yours sound fantastic.

So, not quite sure what to do now as I mostly work off park hours to do ADR's and Park days. But I figure I can get Day 1 (arrival day) down as we never normally go to the Parks due to the flight getting in late afternoon and spending forever in customs
We depart from London Gatwick at 1pm (normally its 11am). I am hoping that the new Twilight film, Eclipse, might be on the plane (cue DF ), as it comes out in July. If thats the case I will also be putting Twilight and New Moon on the old iPod :cutie:
We land at Orlando International at 5pm. I estimate about an hour waiting to clear customs and then from there on to the ME. International Guests still have to queue/line up to get their boarding pass for ME, so fingers crossed the line won't be too long.
Once passes are obtained, its then on to find our wait line (and the obligatory pic of the hotel sign and bus) and off we go!
Now the plan on check in, is to wait for them to complimentary upgrade us to Club Level MK View ;) ;) Ah who am I kidding, I don't care if we get the broom closet, we are at the Poly baby :cool1:
Normally, I am still discombobulated from the flight and do not want to do anything at all. So we tend to just order pizza and veg out in front of the screen. This time, however, will be a different story. I have persuaded (still am) DF to bring one of our small Disney suitcases with us as hand luggage, so we can pack a quick change of clothes in there to tide us over until Bell Services deliver our suitcases (normally after midnight).
I am hoping to get an ADR for Kona that evening, but I am unsure as to what time to make the ADR for as I don't know what time we will get to the resort. If I allow 1hr after boarding to get to ME and then 1hr after that to get to the resort, I calculate that we should/may arrive for check in at 7/8pm. Hopefully Wishes may start at 9pm, so we can have a quick bite and they try and snag a swing seat to watch Wishes. Reading it back DF thinks that I am being optomistic, what do you guys think?
Do you know, I just realised that I said I would add our two previous trips in this report and totally forgot all about it. Its a bit late for that now, so I will get onto that tomorrow :goodvibes
I have a feeling this is going to be a very random PTR, in that things that should have gone at the beginning will most prob turn up later down the line :upsidedow

Morning All, or Evening :wave2: Hope we are all good.
So I thought why not add some of our previous trips into this PTR. Gives us something to chat about and bring back lovely memories :cloud9:
But before I get started on that, mini non trip related update.
Last week I was feeling all happy and generous so I decided to get DF a gift. He had previously seen it before on a website and said he liked it, so I thought I want to get that for you :cutie: Now I am really bad at containing myself for surprises, but I give myself credit for not actually revealing what they are. So I told DF I got him a lil pressie and he proceeded to ask the normal question of what is it? He thought it was a Superman t shirt that I showed him before and said I would love to get for him. I didn't say yes and I didn't say no, so I will reveal below what he got :goodvibes
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y231/WildIllusion86/007-1.jpg
Normally and please don't flame me, he is not into Mickey. But when he said that he really liked this tee I just had to get it for him.
What do you guys think?

Your day 1 plans sound good. I think you should be able to get a good viewing spot for Wishes if you do that before your ADR at Kona. (?)

Have you thought about a Wishes Cruise? We did that last September and it was awesome. The electric water parade was fabulous to see on the boat.
I can't wait to hear more about your planning. Sounds like a lot of fun. I'm planning a trip in September too.
A wishes cruise would be pretty cool if we could swing the cash, I think with the deluxe dining plan and staying at the poly we are going to be broke but it would be very cool. How much are they now anyways and did you do it as a group or did you do it as a couple and do a boat share? Do you think it is any better than just sitting on the Poly beach? Curious to know more about your experience. Where are you staying this year and what dates?

We are staying at WL and will be there from Sept 10 - 20. The boat we had seated 10 people. It was our wedding anniversary and I surprised my DH with the cruise after dinner at the GF Cafe. The rest of my group dined at 1900 Park Fare and then we met at the marina. I said that I wanted to take pictures and see if I could see Wishes from there but really we got on the boat. I would need to look up the costs. I added decorations for $75 and I also added snacks as well. There is an additional cost to have the music from the MK included but it was well worth it. You do not share a boat so even if there were just two of you, you would have your own boat. It was a lovely experience.
I really wanted to stay at the Poly but it just wasn't in our budget this year. Some day though...some day..... We love the WL though. It's very nice and relaxing to be able to take the boat over to MK.
We will definitely visit the Poly though. My favorite breakfast on property is at Kona.
Happy planning! I can't wait to hear more.

Evening All
I thought I was start tonights post off with a lil recap of our first trip to the World in 2007. Maybe remembering this trip might bring about some new ideas etc that we can do on this years trip :)
We flew out all eager and excited in September. We were very pleased with the weather, it was gorgeous and soooo hot :beach:
We were staying at CBR and were allocated a room in Barbados. When we first checked, we were given the obligatory map and directions. So we proceeded to walk around for the next 10 mins looking for our building/area. Little did we know, we could have just walked from Custom House over the little walkway/bridge and we would have been there in 2mins. Oh well never mind.

I think I will post a few pics for now with some comments :)
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y231/WildIllusion86/IMG_0353.jpg
Our first day was at MK and we had a breakfast at CP. We loved the place, but did not like where we were seated, as it was right by the window where everyone queues/lines up to check in for their ADR, so from time to time we had an audience watching us.

I think dinner that evening was Tony's. This was back in the day when the DDP has appetisers and gratuity included. I ordered these fresh bread sticks, that looked more like a French stick which came with this awesome tomato sauce
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y231/WildIllusion86/IMG_0487.jpg
I think Day 2 was spent at Epcot, which was a scorcher of a day, but we had a great time.

Hi All
How are we doing today?
Another off topic post, but still Disney related.
For DF's birthday last year, I got him quite a few presents (some Disney related) and was quite glad of what I had gotten for him. One of the presents I was especially looking forward to giving him was of a snowglobe I purchased from the Disney Store :cutie:
So last night I was thinking to myself, what did he do with it, as its not out on display. I then got to thinking, did I actually give it to him. So this morning I said "where's you Stitch globe?", to which he replied "What Stitch globe?". Well that answered my question, silly me had put the box in the corner of the room and somehow it ended up being buried under stuff (space is a real issue at home at the mo) and forgotten about :headache: So I dug it out and gave it to him "Happy Belated Birthday darling". His reaction was spot on and he loved it. Have posted some pics below for you, what do you think?

http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y231/WildIllusion86/003.jpg
Is pretty awesome right? He lights up and that green is more of a alien green, but came out lighter in the picture.
I want to go on collecting more, but shouldn't really as there is no space. But we can start once we get our own place. I feel like its going to turn into a Disney house as we want to get some pieces of Disney art, then we have other Disney ornaments. Not to mention a flyer for this came in the post and I soooooooooooooooooo have to have it!!! :cloud9:

I haven't done a planning journal. Though my newly started pre-trip report is probably going to end up with some wedding updates as we get closer to the wedding. It's sort of related to our trip, as it is a honeymoon!
I see you're engaged, too! Congrats! When are you getting married?

We are hoping to get married next year (funds dependant). Its been a bit of an all over the place planning what with us (or rather me) constantly changing where we get married. First it was South Africa, then Disney, then Italy and now its the Isle of Wight. Which is a small island off of the UK. We stayed at this Manor early last year and fell in love with the place. Very enchanting with a fairy/secret garden theme. It seems to be the sticker for now and I have already whipped out a few ideas for theming etc. I left it on a backburner for now as theres only so much you can do.
Off to go check it out your PTR now :)

Hi Guys
How are we all this evening? :goodvibes
Just missed a call and no message was left. Was a US number, so I rang it back and it was the main line for the Polynesian. Is really frustrating me now as I have no idea why the Poly is calling me and even more so why they did not leave a voicemail message!
Anywho, enough of that as it will just bug me if I keep thinking about it now.
So we left off from our reminiscing over our first trip to the World. From the looks of it, it looks like we spent the next morning at DTD. I think we grabbed a quick breakfast at McDonalds and then proceeded to explore and shop (two of my fav things to do) :goodvibes

So this was our first experience of the Poly and we remember walking in seeing the indoor waterfall and just going "WOW! (Love at first sight :lovestruc ). We had an ADR at Kona and had a wonderful server (think we may have got her again for the second trip a year later).

So glad you told me about your PTR - I'm loving it! :thumbsup2 Your plans look great so far, and I love the recaps of your past trips.
Re: dining at Kona on the night of your arrival, if you think you'll get on the Magical Express at about 5, I'd make the ADR for around 7. If you're late, you can always check in later and I'm sure they would accomodate you. If they seem particularly busy or not apt to want to take you, explain that you've just checked in to the Poly after flying in, and I'm sure they'll take you. ;) I'd also make the ADR for earlier rather than later so that you'll be sure to be done in time to see Wishes if you do arrive early.
Another option, if you miss your ADR and they somehow can't take you or you just don't feel like going, is Poly room service. It saved our lives on our first day when we couldn't get in to eat anywhere and were exhausted!

The funny thing is that we never got carded once during that 2007 trip and only got carded once in 2008 and that was at the pool bar at CSR and though I had a valid UK ID card, he still wouldnt serve me and I couldnt be bothered to go back to the room to get my passport.

It was fun, got some cute Chip n Dale pics, but they came out a bit dark. I think Goofy was the man of the night, when he first came round to our section, he tripped on the steps  and then just after he had made the rounds to us, he had to dash off to be in the parade.

I would prefer to eat before Wishes, as it would be a nice end to winding down after a 9hr flight.
We'll see how it goes, if Wishes starts at 9pm then we may just be able to squeeze it in, that is if we check in around 7pm-ish.

Hey Guys
How are we all?
I feel like I haven't be on here in ages. Past few days have been busy at work and then me geting flu  Hate getting sick, but I figure I might as well post a recap to take my mind of things.
So we left off with dinner at Kona Cafe. From my pics, it looks like we went to AK the next day. A lot of fun, got absolutely soaked on Kali's which made us have to go back to the resort to change (I mean we were really soaked through). But all in all, a great day.

We were now pretty much done for the day and had an a couple of hours before our reservation at Boma, so we caught a bus over to AKL to go and check it out. We loved it from the moment we stepped through the doors.

http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y231/WildIllusion86/IMG_0794.jpg
We went to Victoria Falls for a quick drink and here, I must confess, is where it went wrong. There were kids downstairs playing on the drums just outside Boma and normally I can tune out most noises, but these were sooooo loud and just went on and on and on to the same banging (no beat), I was starting to get a headache so we decided to leave. I know it was silly to overreact to kids doing what kids do, but seriously I think even the animals rang away with the racket it was making.
Next up MGM (as it was know back then).

The next day we went to MGM. Was not a bad day, as I must admit that this was not my fav park. We did mostly everything, except ToT (I chickened out) and caught our first showing of Beauty and the Beast. This is my favourite Disney movie and Belle is my fav Princess. I love love loved the show and cannot wait to see it again this year.

Hi Guys
How are we all today, enjoying the weekend?
Next up on our recap is Seaworld. I was soooo excited to go as I love Killer Whales and Dolphins and have never seen a Killer Whale up close before.
So we set off early and made good time. Had to hang around for a bit, but that was cool.
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y231/WildIllusion86/IMG_0923.jpg
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y231/WildIllusion86/IMG_0927.jpg
Then we headed on in and found this guy
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y231/WildIllusion86/IMG_0926.jpg
After Shamu, our first stop was breakfast :goodvibes
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y231/WildIllusion86/IMG_0925.jpg
I don't know what made us want to do a tour, but we went on up to the tour counter and chatted with one of the CM's who recommended the VIP Tour, so we purchased tickets and were told to come back at a certain time to meet our group and guide.
This tour was brilliant and I recommend to anyone that is thinking about doing a tour of Seaworld to do it. Its a long one, but you get so much done, rides and all, plus you get great seats for the two main shows and lunch backstage with the Killer Whales.
We first started off walking around and chatting with our guide, who was really good and v informative.
Now I must apologise if I can't give too much info, but I am v bad with my memory and can't really remember the whole tour, but will try my best to fill you in :)
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y231/WildIllusion86/IMG_0929.jpg
We went to the KW tank where our guide proceeded to tell us facts about them.
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y231/WildIllusion86/IMG_0932.jpg
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y231/WildIllusion86/IMG_0933.jpg
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y231/WildIllusion86/IMG_0936.jpg
This is in no particular order and I think that we did something else before this, perhaps went to look at the massive Shire horses and some other equine.
So after the KW tank I think we may have gone for a spot of lunch. We were led to a backstage area and shown where we could make our sandwiches (which was pretty cool because then you can have it exactly how you want it) and sat down next to the water where we watched the KW's swimming around. Was pretty cool as they were quite close, but you don't get to touch them and the trainers don't make them do anything special, except swim around.

http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y231/WildIllusion86/IMG_0947.jpg
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y231/WildIllusion86/IMG_0958.jpg
After that I think we did a couple of rides, which we entered via the exit (which was pretty cool, felt like going backwards to the ride). We rode Kraken which is pretty awesome and also Journey to Atlantis, where we were unfortunate enough to break down, on the the outside corner, before you get inside watch the effects and then plunge down. Man it was hot waiting there, you could have fried an egg on my head the sun was beaming down that much.
After the rides we caught the Shamu Show Believe. We scored pretty good seats (as part of the package) and stayed out of the wet zone.

We then started walking over to catch the next show, Blue Horizons. Not a bad show, lots of marine animals in this show, including False Killer Whales which were pretty cool looking.

After that we went to go feed some animals. First up were the Sea Lions. We each got a cup of fish each (I gave mine to DF as I hate the smell of fish and will not touch them :sad2: ).
We were warned not to wave the wish in the air or take too long giving them to the sea lions because the sea gulls would come in and just take them off you, nipping your fingers in the process. DF had fun feeding them, v noisy demanding guys, but cute all the same.
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y231/WildIllusion86/IMG_1134.jpg
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y231/WildIllusion86/IMG_1139.jpg
Oooh I forgot, at some point on the tour we also got to feed dolphins. DF had fun there too, but quickly changed his mind after one of them head butted his arm (said it was pretty hard too).
He also got to feed some Rays, which he said was rather weird. You have to put the fish inbetween your fingers and lay your hand flat on the bottom of the tank, then the rays swim by and suck up the fish into their mouth.
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y231/WildIllusion86/IMG_1147.jpg
We had a great time on this tour and I am trying to persuade DF to do another one when we go this year (am now looking at the dif ones to see what else you can do). Will post my findings back here to get you guys opinion :)

So we last left off with Seaworld. I think the next day we went to AK and took it at a more relaxed pace and did some of the trails.
We have a little in joke with this pic. When we first started on the Maharajah Jungle Trek, the first animal/reptile we came across was the Komodo Dragon. As soon as we entered the area a "guide" yelled out "The Komodo Dragon..." can't remember the rest but he went into a long winded factoid speech about the species. As we were leaving the area, another group entered and you could have sworn you were listening to a recording because he launched into another "The Komodo Dragon..." The in joke is that after hearing him do it a third time we thought that he must stand there all day saying the same thing over and over, like he is stuck in a time loop

The camera then proceeded to die after that, so we just strolled around leisurely. I think that night we were going to our very first MNSSHP, but first a quick stop for dinner at Beaches and Cream.

Our server at first seemed a bit offish, but I think it was because the place was so packed. But she did not fail to notice DF bday pin. After we had finished our main and she had cleared the plates aways the lights on the ceiling started flashing and DF was like whats going on. He has his back towards the kitchen and couldn't see her coming back with an ice cream brownie. She proceeded to get everyones attention and had them sing Happy Birthday to him. Was really sweet and lovely for him. You can tell he is still sorta surprised in this pic, bless :cutie:

So we are up to our v last half day. We tend not to do any parks and just hit DTD until it is time to go back to the resort for the ME. On this morning we woke early to pack. It was dark and raining and poor DF had to go and get breakfast, you can tell he is not too happy about that.

Stefy, you have to dress up! :thumbsup2 It triples the fun - take it from me! We were just wearing hats the first MNSSHP and it was fun, but we had the best time when we went all the way for the second party! The response from guests and CMs was so much fun! :lmao:
Well I was thinking about buying this:

Ok, lets get on to some planning :surfweb:
I think we are only going to shop once whilst here. DF can get all his stuff in one hit and believe me he gets a good haul.
Me, I am more picky and tend to go for the more expensive stuff.
On the first trip we went to Orlando Premium Outlets, again DF did v well. Me not so much.
The second trip we went to Mall at Millenia and Prime Outlets. DF didn't get anything in MaM, I did get some bits that I was after, namely Baby Phat jeans which I love love love :lovestruc and my first pair of Uggs from The Walking Co.
Prime Outlets was good, again DF got most of his stuff here and I got a couple of wristlets from Coach.
This year we are not sure where to go. I have decided that I am not too fussed about shopping  Shock horror I know and for those that know me would be asking if I am feeling alright. So we are thinking about going back to Orlando Premium Outlets (as it is v close) and maybe trying Florida Mall. Mainly for me as if I were to get anything I would love to get another pair of Uggs, some more Baby Phat jeans and possibly a new Juicy tracksuit (oh so comfy).
Also, does anyone know where you can get Rock and Republic jeans in Orlando? I have been wanting the Victoria Beckham Crown ones since they came out a few years ago and they are just so expensive over here, but really cheap in the US.
Anywho, back to the matter at hand. Do you think Florida Mall is worth a trip? How far is it from Disney?
We were thinking about going back to Premium and MaM, but it was an expensive cab ride and we have tried to see if there is a route between each that we can walk, but I don't think its on the safe side.
Your help/advice is much appreciated ::grouphug:

We went to the Florida Mall a couple of years back. I didn't think it was worth the trip personally but they did have an M&M store and I have a friend who is really into that so I got her a bunch of stuff for Christmas there.
I love the Coach store at the outlet mall. DH got me a laptop bag from there last trip. :lovestruc
I wish I knew where you could find your jeans but I don't know where the other malls are. I'm sure that there are a ton of them but I have no idea where. :confused3

Thanx, I instantly had to get it when I spotted it online.
Thats cool, we have a rough idea, I just wanted to see what you guys do if you tear yourself away from Disney for a shopping day.
Another shopping related question, when I went to the Juciy Outlet at Prime I found it to be quite blah with what they had. What are the prices like in a normal store? Do they still have good sales? For me either way is good, as the normal RRP over in the US is still alot cheaper compared to ours over here.

Morning All :)
So I thought I would post about preparing clothing wise etc for when we go on holiday.
For me, its another excuse to go shopping. But there are some essentials you need to get and you have to keep it fresh as well :rolleyes1
I have some shorts I bought from last year that I want to take over with me and I got those t shirts too that I have been buying recently.
I also like to take tank tops too.
Normally when I go somewhere hot, shoe wise, I tend to get ballet pumps or trainers (not keen on sandals). This year I had an idea to combine mini fitness with fashion. I got to thinking that we do soooooo much walking when we go to Disney, why not get these:
1. http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y231/WildIllusion86/ShapeUps.jpg
2. http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y231/WildIllusion86/ShapeUpsMaryJanes.jpg
3. http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y231/WildIllusion86/ShapeUpsPink.jpg
They are called Shape Ups from Skechers and they are designed to tone as you walk and also improve your posture too.
Not a bad idea right?
Now they are a bit pricey over here so I figure I should just get one pair, also because they are designed to tone etc, I am sure there will be a bit of an afterburn when you have walked around all day in them, so I won't want to wear them all the time.
Now the dilema is, which ones do I get. I love them all (of course). Normally I am not a mix and match kinda girl, but I do want to take into consideration that two of them are dark shades and may not go with everything I wear. Or am I being silly because at the end of the day they are trainers and not high heels.
No. 1 I like because it looks simple and classic.
No. 2 I also like because its in a Mary Jane style and looks quite holiday-ish.
No. 3 I like too because I love how there is a splash of pink in there to give it a bit of pizazz.
What do you guys think?
Eeep :scared1: Time to go to work.
Sees ya later

Loved the face painting, will definitely be partaking if I see any in AK!
Would you mind me asking where you got the 'are you taking the mickey' t shirt as dbf is similar in that isn't too fussed on the idea of disney shorts but know he'd love that one...
p.s have you tried asos and yogoego.com they have really cute disney couture tops, with the latter having better prices...i'm hoping for a couple for valentine's day!!!:lovestruc

We love VB!! And I love shopping, so I'm thrilled to respond to this one! Okay, so I've gotten a few pairs of her Rock and Republic jeans from a store called Century 21 for super cheap. I got them probably a year or year and a half ago - at the time, they had tons of pairs and cost around $40. There's a big Century 21 in NYC and another one at a mall near my house, so I think they've been branching out. Not sure if they've made it to Florida yet, though. I also saw the jeans at Bloomingdale's and I think at Saks - if they still have them at those stores, they'd be considerably more expensive, but they may have some old ones on sale. If you go to an outlet mall in Orlando, go into Saks Off Fifth and Nordstrom Off the Rack if they have those stores - those are two outlet shops that I think are likely to carry her jeans. Also check both of those for your Juicy track suits. I've always gotten mine at Saks Off Fifth (or on a really good sale at Neiman Marcus). I haven't gotten any in a while, but I bet Saks Off Fifth still carries them and has good prices.

I was the same as you at first, over here there is a more expensive version called MBT's and they were the first of their kind before Skechers and other sports brands caught on.
My friend had MBT's and she used to walk to work from home when it was nice weather (she lived at least a mile away) and she said that they worked for her.
Will let you know if they do work, watch out for our TR on our return :)

How are we? Glad its the weekend?
Friday was my three year anniversary at work and I had my review and everything is all good at work, going through changes and a huge marketing campaign and my boss said that I can be the Events Organiser for our office mixers, marketing comps etc Which is really exciting as this is what I want to do and should be great on my CV for when I eventually start looking for work in that area :dance3:
So me and DF went to Oxford St today and saw our lil neices too.
Our first stop was Selfridges where we had to go and buy some of these

We each have one of those Smartie/M&M looking ones which are vanilla cream with chocolate chip and smarties (candy coated chocolate) with a flake. Its called "Kiss It Better" and was designed by a patient at the Great Ormond Street Childrens Hospital (30% of proceeds go towards the charity there).
The pink one is a special Pink Champagne for Valentines Day (mine) and the yellow is Banana flavour (that ones DF's).
We went into the Disney Store, which is decked out in Princess & the Frog decorations. I tweeted a pic http://tweetphoto.com/10565874
I also bought a mini Stitch plush for a friend at work who is not having a great start to the year with family problems etc :guilty: Hopefully he will cheer her up

They are divine looking aren't they :goodvibes They are made by a company called Lola's Cupcakes and they are permanently in Selfridges and other locations.
We are hoping to be able to get these somehow over to the Isle of Wight (where we are getting married) and are debating whether to get these made for our wedding cake http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=2143228&id=541438610&op=1&view=global&subj=49587884874&oid=49587884874
Would defo change the colour of the icing to suit with the wedding, most prob white with whatever our colour theme is for the decoration/sprinkles.

Hello! I am enjoying your planning journal. We have stayed at the POLY twice. We love it. It is my favorite resort. On our last trip we purchased into the Vacation Club, and for our trips this year we will be staying at the new BLT. I'm excited about that, but a little disappointed that we won't be at the POLY this time around!!!
As for the sneakers, I like 3. I'm curious to hear what you think about them.
I like both tiaras, but I would vote for 2.
Love the shirts you have bought so far!!!
Just a thought, when you mentioned the Juicy suit.....I was at marshall's and tj maxx last night. Both are stores that carry name brands for less. Both had Juicy items - on clearance for very low prices. Not sure if these stores are close by Orlando, but they are definitely all over the nation. You might want to add a stop there on your trip!!!

We are sooooo excited to be staying at the Poly and to going back to the World again. DF more so as he never got to go on holiday last year and is sooo ready to go to Disney this year.
Bet you can't wait to go, not long now :)
Come on you Gunners! Going downstairs to watch it in 45 mins and counting!
Hopefully they will beat Liverpool next week, can't have them going 4th now can we :)

Evening Everyone, hope we are all good on this Super Bowl Weekend :goodvibes
So, some more planning (ish).
We did the preorder Photopass CD for the first time in 2008 and loved it. Really made the most out of it and got loads of pics.
I hear now that you can't preorder the CD online anymore and that they send you can email before your trip. Is that right?
How can I guarantee that they send me an email to preorder and if they do, when would they send it? I really want to do the pass again this year (esp with the new special add in features) and also a Portrait Session, but don't want to pay full price.
TIA

How has DH and DS taken the game? Not good results overall I hear.
Well DH and DS5 were quite sad, but DS7 actually was happy. He likes Chelsea's blue uniforms:confused3

So annoying that Disney keep changing all the good deals that nearly everyone does. Its like they don't want us to get bargains or special offers.

Hey guys,
Just wanted to ask for a water park recommendation. I went to Blizzard Beach & Typhoon Lagoon when I was around 11-12 years old and loved both. Summit Plummet was quite scary for me back then! We are thinking about doing just one this year and I am not up to speed on both parks anymore. Which one do you think is better and why?
Thanks :)

Definitely Typhoon!! We went to both last June and really didn't like Blizzard Beach at all!! It seemed not as clean and the rides weren't fun to us. We could have stayed at Typhoon ALL day!!

Hi Guys
I have been looking over our restaurant choices and have made some changes. I have scratched off about three restaurants.
So far we have 12 nights worth of dinners and need one more.
I have looked at the restaurants again and have added some possibilities below, what do you think?
Kouzinna
Artist Pointe
Sannaa
Have also thought of some more lunch TS's as well.
Liberty Tree Tavern
Sci Fi Dine In - Not sure whether lunch or dinner
We don't mind doing double restaurants either.
Coral Reef
Cali Grill
Teppan Edo
I really want to get the choices down now, so I am all ready to go when my ADR's are up in April. Also, got my planning journal which I want to start updating properly. Right now its in messy note format with papers sticking out here and there.
TIA :cutie:

You know I can never remember the difference between these two. All I know is that I like the Lazy River, the one where you can ride with about four people on a raft type thing and the one where you race each other. Are these from both, or mostly one?

Out of all these the only ones I've been to are Sci Fi, Teppan Edo and Cali Grill. Loved all three of them, but especially Cali Grill! I'd love to try Sanaa. I've heard it has great views of the savannah plus great food! I'm trying Coral Reef in June. The reviews there are mixed. Oh and I've done Liberty Tree Tavern, but only as a character meal. The lunch menu looks yummy! I don't think you'll go wrong with any of your choices. I'm lots of help:rolleyes:

I'd love to try Sanaa and Artist Pointe looks lovely, but the food there seems a bit adventurous for my group!
We've eaten at California Grill, and it's been great, and we've also had lunch at Liberty Tree Tavern, which we really enjoyed.
We currently have an ADR at Teppan Edo booked for our trip next month, so if we make it there (since we constantly change our ADRs while there :rolleyes1), I'll let you know what we thought!

Teppan Edo was our fave meal on our last trip:cool1: We had dinner with two couples and their kids and we must have done something right that night because they paid for our meal! Food was fantastic, atmosphere was great (i guess it depends on who you sit with) and our chef was very funny. 10/10 from me. Especially since this meal takes a while and we had a late reservation. Walking back through an empty world showcase is truly awesome:thumbsup2

Hi All
How are we doing? Any fun plans for the weekend?
We too our neice to see Peppa Pig (UK childrens TV Character) which was fun, but v tiring as she is a bit of a handful. We were supposed to go see The Princess & the Frog after, but were too knackered. Anyone else seen it yet? We have been trying to see it for the past two weeks.
So I was looking through my list of "Must Do's" and thought I would ask about The Haunted Hayride, has anyone done one of these? Is it worth doing?

Hey Stefy! Adorable charms for your bracelet! And I love the shirt you got for DF...so cute!
We saw The Princess and the Frog the weekend it came out. It was good! My favorite was the song "Evangeline." It almost makes me want to name my future daughter Evangeline!
Oh we have Peppa Pig here! They play it on Nick. Jr. which is my 18 month old neice's favorite channel but for some reason she HATES Peppa Pig! It's so funny but she gets so upset when that show is on! So random!

Thanx, all the charms have a meaning to them too which makes it all the more special to collect them (but not good for my bank balance).
Evangeline is a pretty name. We might try and see it tomorrow, depending on how we feel. The annoying thing is the local cinema we usually go to is not showing and our second choice local isn't either, so we have to travel to another one which we are not keen on.
Lol wow, she doesn't like Peppa? Bless.

I figure that, for the first party we could focus solely on the special Halloween Events, such as the Trick or Treat Trails, Dances, Special Characters such as Snow White and the Dwarves and the Villains.
The second party could be for doing the rides in the dark and also any other special parts that we couldn't knock out in the first party.
What are your guys opinions?
Also, we have decided to forgo the Haunted Hayride, as if we do the party twice, we shouldn't really do this as well.

Hi! All caught up and really enjoying your PTR so far popcorn::
Great ADR choices... we tried Sanaa last July and it was amazing, if you and DF like Indian food then you'll love it!!
You've found some great Disney tshirts too! I am always on the look out in shops like New Look & River Island for Disney printed things... I got some pink Daisy Duck pyjamas from RI last year and they are so pretty! lol. :cutie:
I've not been to MNSSHP but from what I've heard.. if you can go twice (budget and time allowing!) maybe you should... my sister and I did MVMCP last December and I was amazed how quickly the time flew by... we missed a couple of the shows & only did two rides! :santa: It was great fun though! I'd love to do the Halloween one too.
Also... about the water parks... Typhoon Lagoon & Blizzard Beach both have a 'lazy river' and family raft ride (which when there's just two of you in it, really flies down the flume!!)... TL has the new Crush n Gushers which shoot you UP as well as down (like a roller coaster!), and BB has the racing slides... like a toboggan race :thumbsup2
hope that helps! we love the Disney water parks... if you go to BB then I recommend the wintersummerland mini golf next to it too! :goodvibes

Thanx for all the comments. If you are interested in Disney T Shirts I can give you the name of the websites I get them from. Can't wait to get my next one for March. Your Daisy Duck PJ's sound cute :cutie:
If you go during Halloween you must must must do MNSSHP, we have only done it once, but loved it. We did MVMCP in 2008, but I prefer the HP more than the CP.
It sounds like TL is the one that we want to try, with Crush n Gushers and the others mentioned. But which park overall is the best do you think?

I would do MNSSHP twice if you can (time and money-wise). Actually, I might buy tickets in advance to the earliest one you'd like to go to; then if you haven't accomplished everything you wanted to, get tickets for another party. You're going early enough in the season that the parties shouldn't be sold out, right? I think they generally only sell out right around Halloween (or maybe just Halloween night). I have a feeling you will want to attend twice, but just in case it's raining on the night you'd intended to go (or you'd just prefer to watch the fireworks from the Poly beach), you'd have some wiggle room.
Where are you planning to eat dinner before/ during your MNSSHP(s)?

I think we are going to try and do Kona cafe as it is in the resort. That way we can just hop on the monorail to the MK. aaah so much simpler. Though I am going to miss getting there as it gets dark and seeing all the cool decorations and lights when you go by bus.

I agree with others that you should do the party twice if you can! I haven't been to MNSSHP, but did the Christmas party a few years ago with my mom. We went to one and loved it so much we went another night of our trip. There is just so much to do and experience, and we loved the atmosphere of the party.
Good luck with your decision!
As far as water parks, personal preference seems to vary a lot between them. I LOVE Typhoon Lagoon for the themeing- the landscaping is beautiful and the music is fun, and it has all these hidden spots with lounge chairs to relax in.
The slides on a whole seem a bit less intense than Blizzard Beach (except Crush N' Gusher- that is crazy fun!) but they are so well themed and still great.
Blizzard Beach has it's own high points, but I didn't care for the themeing- all that white snow reflecting the sun meant I was squinting the whole time. There also seemed to be more hiking to the slides than at TL.
But all that is just my (long winded:rotfl: ) opinion!

That sounds perfect - trying to eat at the restaurants in the MK the night of a party seems to be a nightmare (long lines and waits). I think we'll try for Kona on the night we go to MNSSHP during our trip, too, since I like that a lot better than the GF Cafe.

We will most prob attend the early October parties, I am hoping tickets go on sale in May. Am keeping a sharp eye on WDWInfo and also Disneys website for 2010 dates.
Like Dave says we will most prob go to Kona and have just realised we don't have a dinner near MK apart from Narcoosees and CRT  Unless we have a big lunch at one of our lunch restaurants and eat a mini dinner at Captain Cook's. Gosh I am glad you asked that question now :goodvibes

No thank you for that, its really useful to hear what other people think, rather than just saying I like BB and thats that.
Hearing others opinions etc I am thinking/leaning towards TL. I am not a swimmer of such and the fact you said TL is not as intense as BB sounds great to me :thumbsup2

I think last year the tickets went on sale on May 1? When we went (mid-September) MNSSHP was held on Tuesday and Friday nights, so you can probably count on it being held those nights plus maybe a few more since you'll be into October. I'm figuring Tuesday and Friday night as party nights in my plans for our Sept. trip as I'm starting to think about ADRs (which I had not been doing at all before looking at yours, so thank you!).

Thanx for that. I am liking the idea of doing a Friday night, as we do not tend to go to the Parks at weekends, so since the party will be a late one, we can have a lay in.

Yay for MNSSHP. We are hoping that they will have it on Tuesday the week that we are there. So far it has been Tuesday and Friday during the week that we go in September. Friday is our anniversary though and it makes me wonder if they do have it, can we still do a Wishes Cruise and will it be a Hallowishes cruise???
I loved your idea earlier of going twice...once for the the rides and once for the trick or treat, characters, etc.

Hi Guys
How are we all, good weekend?
Me and Dave went down to the West End today to go and join in the Chinese New Year Celebrations. Was fun, but v v crowded so we didn't stay that long, or get that many pics, but here are a few we take :goodvibes
First off had to take this pic, I can't remember which TR I read it on, but I remember them mentioning how much they loved Cinabon and always got one at the airport (or something like that)

This was a pretty cool cat, covered in the Tiger Beer logo.

I love Chinese lanterns, especially spread out like this.

This was the best shot Dave could get, everytime we came across the Lion Dancers it was soooooo mobbed with people.

I bought these lil guys as I had to get a Tiger souvenir. My Chinese Zodiac is the Tiger and my star sign is Leo. So hopefully this will be a prosperous year for me :cutie:

The next best purchase of the day was the Pandan Cake, this is sooooo good, light and fluffy sponge and yummy butter/vanilla type cream.

Oh, yes! We're all set for ADRs for our March trip - I just need to pick out some for our September trip since our 180-day date will be during our March trip. It's so hard to think about September without park hours. I'm also hoping a resort discount code will come out, which we would likely switch to. Right now we have the standard free dining bounceback, but if a resort discount came out, we'd save more and just pay OOP for our meals - in that case, I'd do more restaurants that are considered 2-credit on the dining plan, which I wouldn't do on the regular plan. I know most people hated it, but I'd love if Disney switched back to the short-lived 90-day ADR window!
In a couple of weeks, we've got ADRs for: Tutto Italia, Le Cellier, Teppan Edo, Les Chefs de France, 'Ohana, and Mama Melrose.

Oops sorry, read that wrong. I hear you on the park hour planning, but give it a few more days and it will be March.
One thing I have noticed on the Disney website (for UK) is that they have only posted EMH up to May. Tried to look on the US site, but they are only showing hours and EMH for this month. Is there a way to find the hours for future months?

I'm not sure about park hours in general, but EMH basically never change, so we can be pretty sure about those. I don't know why Disney holds out on posting these? Even if they think they'll add more, they could add in these base ones and then add more at more crowded times of year. I've found on every past trip:
Sunday - MK evening EMH
Monday - AK morning EMH, MGM evening EMH
Tuesday - Epcot morning EMH
Wednesday - AK evening EMH
Thursday - MK morning EMH
Friday - Epcot evening EMH
Saturday - MGM morning EMH

Hello all
Mini OT update. Went to see The Lovely Bones last night and my gosh it was a powerful film. Has anyone seen it yet?
Outstanding performances from the whole cast, esp Saoirse Ronan and Stanley Tucci. It really got you going on an emotional and psychological level.
I haven't read the book yet, but I am told that it isn't quite the same, but the majority of it is (if that makes sense).
The cinema we went to was awesome, it just opened up in one of our biggest shopping centres in London. We went for the indulgence tickets which gives you a private bar with concierge and a cloakroom. When you take your seats they are comfy leather ones that recline  A really indulgent experience, which I am defo going to do again :goodvibes
If you haven't seen it yet, I defo recommend you do :goodvibes

OK, that movie theater sounds AMAZING! The thing I dislike about going to the movies is not being able to get comfortable in the seats, so what you're describing sounds perfect! I don't know of any places like that near here, though... London's a bit far to go for a movie:lmao:
I saw the Lovely Bones and really enjoyed it. It's different from the book, but not in a bad way.... i think they did a really good job casting the roles.
Though the book is one of my favorites and I did prefer reading it to watching the movie.

It really is :goodvibes London is a bit far to come I suppose
Our problem with cinemas is like you say, not v comfortable, not enough leg room and there is always that one person behind that kicks your chair, or just talks throughout the whole darn film!
I still need to read the book, but the film is too fresh in my mind right now. Am trying to read Wuthering Heights, is it me or is that a hard book to read?
We are having a long weekend this week (took Monday off) and I am going to get on to doing all the Disney stuff I should have been doing in my little planning book. I finally got around to writing down our restaurants, all done colour coordinated and relevant to which part of WDW its in etc. After I had finished, the next day DF said I think I would like to try Tony's for lunch one day. I was like :scared1: just hope I have left enough room in the sections to add that one in. I know it sounds sad, but when I do stuff like this I like it to be perfect.
I've also printed off some mini maps of the parks and our resort to put in the book. Have also printed off last years park hours, need to go through those and 2008's to compare and see if there are many differences between the two.
I still can't access the September hours on the US site, which is really frustrating me. I got to the part where I can click the calendar icon and scroll through the months, only prob was it stopped at August!
Off to check again to see if I can access it now, wish me luck :)

I posted this on another thread, but try this way:
The whole month view doesn't work, but you can access daily hours by usin this link:
http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/parks/animal-kingdom/calendardayview/?asmbly_day=20100901
Then, just switch "animal-kingdom" to whatever park you want to see (magic-kingdom, hollywood-studios, epcot) and the last two numbers at the end to the day in September you want to see (ex. 20100910 is Septmber 10th).
Also, you should be able to use the "next" button once you get into any of the daily calendars to move from day to do.
Hope this helps!! :goodvibes

:surfweb: We interupt this PTR with some actual PTR news :surfweb:
Thanx to the lovely Sophia (OhioDisneyLover)   We have finally made some solid plans for the first night and first official park day. So here goes:
Wednesday 29th September
Check in at the Poly around 7pm-ish, check out our room and change out of plane clothes. Stroll around and soak in the atmosphere/surroundings and tiki torches lighting the way to Captain Cooks, eat and then (hopefully) score the swing seat for a front seat view of Wishes at 9pm :cloud9:
Thursday 30th September
Make rope drop at MK and try not to get too distracted by just stopping dead and staring at the Castle
It looks like that night is going to be a MNSSHP night as the park closes at 7pm. Hopefully this will mean that the park won't be as busy until around 4pm. We are going to aim to leave around 3-4pm, go back to the resort for a rest and then get ready for dinner at Cali Grill. We have decided why not get this holiday started with a bang :cool1:
Only thing with dinner is that we are not sure how to time it. Do we get an ADR where we catch Wishes during dinner? Or do we have an early reservation and come back to watch on the observation deck? Or do we time it that our dinner finishes around the time Wishes starts, in which case we watch from the deck also.
What do you guys think? :goodvibes

However you time it you will enjoy it! We have found lately that we enjoy watching the fireworks before we have dinner, but if this is a MNSSHP night the fireworks will be around 10 I think, so you better time it so you have dinner first, then hang around over coffee (ask for Ron, he will time it for you, ;) :goodvibes) and watch after you have eaten (from the deck) It is nice from inside, but you cannot see as well with the glass!
Love your first two days! It shows you are WAY younger than Tom and I as we are just too tired after the long distance flight to even care about fireworks our first night,:lmao:

Ooh thats a point if it starts at 10pm. Maybe it would be better to try and time it so we catch it after we finish dinner then, perhaps just before dessert?
We don't normally do anything apart from order in and chill out on arrival day. We are usually tired and grumpy from the flight, security check and ME trip. But Dave wants to try and make an effort seeing as we are staying at the Poly for the first time :goodvibes

I love your plans for your first two days. :thumbsup2
I think it would be so awesome to see Hallowishes from the observation deck at Cali. I think I would have dinner first and then see if you can hang around at the bar (do they still have a bar in there? I have not been there in years.)
I am still wondering what the new fireworks show will be like that is replacing Wishes. I saw an article on AllEars about that and the replacement of Spectro with the Electric Light Pageant. I just don't know how I will feel about these but I'm very excited to see what they will be like. :yay:
Good luck scoring the swing on your first night for the fireworks show. What a great way to start a vacation!!!!

Great plans! I'd try to time it so you saw the fireworks at the very end of your Cali Grill meal. You can't see real well from the tables so you definitely want to go to the observation deck:)

So its looking likely that we will try and time the dinner for watching the fireworks afterwards :thumbsup2 and I am excited about watching from the observation deck, they pump the music up there too right?

Plans for your first two days look great! :thumbsup2 I loved watching Wishes from the Poly beach - so relaxing and easy! :cloud9:
It looks like Sept. 30 will be an EMH morning at the MK, so you should be able to get a lot in that day (especially with the low crowds that will probably result from the fact that it's a MNSSHP night).

Did you hear about one of the Arsenal players breaking his leg? Saw it on TV and it looked really bad. What an awful thing to happen to a young kid :sad2:

Well hi there! I finally made my way over here and I'm slowly making my way thru but wanted to comment on what I've read....
Love DF's pink hat... Soopafly :lmao: Love that name!
You leave the day after Ariana's birthday. Random thought but there you are.
Ohana breakfast - woot!
Arkershurs breakfast - very curious if you'll like it... we went for dinner and while the Princesses were fabulous, the food was meh.
Tons of ADRs I've never been to! But most I want to try!
50's Prime Time - Mum at the table, I'm with you there. I'm iffy on trying that one but I keep hearing good things about it. :confused3
Complimentary upgrade at check in... :rotfl2: I wish! But good luck to you... ;)
That Stitch snow globe is AWESOME!!! :stitch2:
I'll be back again soon!

I get a birthday wish from Mickey for Ariana when I get there :cutie:
I can't wait to try Ohana Breakfast and see Lilo & Stitch :yay:
I remember reading your review on Akershus. I really only want to go for the Princesses TBH. Although I hear now that all the Princesses are going to be at Lunch and Dinner at CRT. But I think we will stick with this one as me and Sophia (OhioDisneyLover) have a plan to make early AM ADR's to get empty park pics :)
Most of the ADR's are new for us, like the signature restaurants and some are ones we loved so much that we have to go back for more :goodvibes
Yes we are defo staying clear of 50's Prime. Get enough mummy-ing at home thank you very much :)
Re: upgrade - I know its far fetched wishful thinking, but a girl can dream :cloud9:
I love the Stitch globe and really want to collect more. Our first trip, we nearly bought the Castle Snowglobe, if its still there this year I may just end up getting it :teeth:
Stay tuned for more am also going to start our recap of our second trip :goodvibes

Hi All :wave2:
Me and Dave have been discussing what time to make our ADR for Cali. As the 30th looks to be a MNSSHP night will the fireworks be at 9pm or 9:30pm like last year do you think?
If its at 9pm, am thinking about trying to get either 7:50pm or 8pm. What you guys think?
TIA :goodvibes

Heh thanks :) I got the name from a 'cartoon' called Super Fly created by Joe Cartoon. Very funny and a little bit rude but still awesome.
I am not really interested in Akershus but Stefy wants to do it so I am not going to get in her way as that would be very dangerous :lmao:
No way are we ever doing 50's Prime Time lol. I couldn't handle people telling me how and what to eat:confused3 Though I think I am looking forward to Tepan, Cali Grill and Yachtsman the most :D

Hi...plans for first 2 days look great, swing by the poly to watch the fireworks/water pageant sounds like a dream!!!
we've booked for cali grill at 9 for fireworks at ten...will let you know how that works out but prob won't help in time for your ADR Date
DBF heartbroken about ramsey, is his favourite player...the break looked horrendous, and felt bad for the fella who did it too:eek:

An 8:00 Cali Grill ADR would work out just fine even if the fireworks didn't start until 10:00. Our meal took over 2 hours. We scheduled it for 6:00 and were still sitting at our table enjoying dessert when the 8:00 fireworks started.

If you get 8pm (or around there), you should be fine, even if the fireworks are at 9:30... the meals there are at a super relaxed pace and they are very accommodating for watching Wishes. I ate there once and they held off bringing out our next course so we could go enjoy the show without our food getting cold. I love that place!

I remember you saying it was spaced out between courses. 8pm is normally when I schedule our ADR's for, so will see how it goes :)

We loved Teppan Edo and would go again for sure. I'd love Cali but I'm not sure it would be "worth it" for us, only because I'm not sure how much of a fireworks view we'd end up with and that's pretty much why we'd go. I keep thinking it would be a fabulous backdrop but what if our view was impeded..... then I'd rather just see Wishes from the MK. Did that make sense? Anyway, I'm really looking forward to hearing how you guys make out!
