Hi all!

My DF and I are considering using the Napa Room for our wedding reception, but I was hoping to get a little more info before we made our final decision.

Anyone use this venue and have pics or comments about the room/menu/etc?
:)

I just booked the Napa Room for our reception lunch. The menus all sound delicious, I have the lunch menus but if you're looking for a dinner or breakfast menu I'm sure someone can help you out. http://www.disneycateredmenus.com/menus/CG/CG_All_Menus_v092109.pdf

Thank you! The menu options do sound good! I've been trying to find some pics online to get an idea of the room layout, but I haven't been able to find too many. My DF and I picked the room because we loved the view of the MK and wanted to watch Wishes at the reception, but we don't have much more info on it! lol

You have probably seen these pictures but I will post just in case.

We are having a lunch reception and booked without seeing in. We have since gone down and love it but we didn't take any pictures. It seems one wall is almost all windows and we were more focused on the view instead of the room. With only 20 or so guests it will be work fine for us.

Thank you so much for the pics! I feel better knowing that someone else booked the room without seeing it and ended up loving it. :)

We've booked the Napa Room for our wedding in August :goodvibes

We actually had Whitehall down as our venue until we had our site visit - when we went into Napa, we were just blown away at how close you can see MK, I just don't think that comes across in photos. We decided, (no offense to anyone who uses the ballrooms) that the ballrooms/whitehall could be in any hotel in the World, but you can only get the view from Napa in one place :thumbsup2

We're having the dinner menu, and I absolutely can't wait for our reception here!!

Thank you so much for the responses! I definitely think the Napa room is for us! After looking at the pictures of that view, I can't imagine having our wedding reception anywhere else! :goodvibes

For the Bride and Groom, they made us plates with all three entrees:

We asked the chef to serve Mickey Premium Ice Cream bars instead of the normal dessert on the menu. They're Brian's absolute favorite and a HUGE hit with our guests:

Thanks so much for the info!

DF and I are really hoping to use California Grill for our reception, but we are having around 60 guests!:scared1:

Is there a larger room at CG?

We are hoping to have the Napa room for our evening reception, just a matter of seeing if we can afford it. I'm really hoping we will have the budget for it as my heart is set on it.
Andreah your photos are gorgeous, and made me even more positive that it's the perfect place :) I had a look at the rest of you photos and wondered if that was your own ipod player you used or one they supplied and what were the costs of it?

Thank you!

We brought our own iPod and iPod dock to play music. It was perfectly appropriate for the size of the room. However, you definitely want to find a guest who will be willing to operate it for you.

We had inquired about the cost of a better sound system. They quoted around $400, if I can recall, and our wedding planner actually advised against it due to the small size of the room. We had toasts and speeches with no microphone, and it was no problem.

Which dock did you buy?

We just had our reception in the Napa Room this past Dec 14th but I don't have my pics back yet. However, we had 32 guests plus a dance floor and dj and we had plenty of room to move around and dance. If you want to have a dance floor the max is around 30 but without it you can seat 40-50. The Napa Room was absolutely the perfect choice for us. We like acwinsett had the Heraldsburg dinner but we substitutted the chicken for a pork dish off the restaurant menu and it was to die for! CG!

Someone asked if there was a bigger location at CG for 60 people I think, there is the Sonoma Room but that looks across the lake in the back of CR and it does hold more. You also have the option of using the actually restaurant but I have no idea how that would work. Good Luck!

I was hoping you'd say that, thanks. I really want the napa room for my reception and as its going to cost quite a bit just for the room need to try and keep all other costs to a minimum but didn't want no music in the room

Those of you that brought your own iPod dock, did you ask for a table to set it up or did you place it somewhere different?

the iPod hookup and sound system is pretty decent. However, I do want to say, that we didn't have the harpist or the ipod going the entire time. During the time we didn't, our wedding planner had the house music turned on, so there was never any "dead time." I almost want to say that the iPod isn't even necessary....

Girli565, we have a JBL Sound Dock. It's fairly small but sounds great! We didn't request a table specifically, but did let our planner know that we were planning to provide our own iPod dock. The dock is fairly small, so we didn't have any trouble finding a place to stick it.

Angrypenguin, I LOVE your photos . . . you guys are soooo cute! I found your Flickr site a few months back and was thrilled! You got a great photo of the ravioli, which is my FAVORITE :lovestruc

The California Grill does have the Sonoma Room in addition to the Napa Room, but the Sonoma is smaller than Napa. I know you can use both if you meet the minimums for both, but usually it's pre-reception in Sonoma and then move to the Napa for the reception. The Sonoma room doesn't have a built-in bar . . . they use a portable one. If you have more than 40-50, you'd probably be looking at a restaurant buyout for the main dining area.

I'm so excited to see that there could be some new CG brides and grooms in the works :thumbsup2

The little round one? I'm looking for one because $250 for an iPod set up is ridiculous.
