I just booked this today for myself, DH and DS. I'm a little jealous you'll be traveling w/out kids and spouses - jk. I am actually very excited for this cruise. It will be our second on Disney but obviously first on Dream and first w/ DS. I can't believe how far away it is!!!

I'm just hoping there is stuff for us to do without the kids! I'm kinda worried about that TBH. I've never sailed Disney, DH and I sailed Carnival for our first cruise.

Don't worry about that - you will have plenty to do. Last time we went on Disney was before we had our son and we had such a good time. The quiet cove pool area is so nice - I've never been on any other cruise that actually enforces the 'adults only' areas. Forget about the blaring music of Carnival - this will be a totally different experience and you will love every minute of it ;)

Just got off the Magic yesterday and have booked this cruise and the 11/10 as a back-2-back. Can't think of a better way to celebrate my 11/7 birthday than to check out the Dream.


It's a long time to wait, but I do have the Panama Canal on the Wonder to look forward to first.

Awesome! Glad you had a good time! Lucky you though that you get to have a back to back. :) I don't think DH would like it too much if I was gone from home for over a week while he was at home with the kids!:rotfl: They are still young yet and DS is still in the TERRIBLE two's stage. lol

Have you done a back to back before? Now I'm thinking about doing a back to back rather than going to WDW for a few days.

If you've done it can you tell me about the process of getting off the ship to 'check in' for the second leg of the trip. Do you have to wait in a long line? Is it a quick process? How long do you have to be off the boat? Also, do you know if the kids club is open on that day and do you have to re-sign your child up?

Any info you can provide to help us make our decision would be great - thanks!!!

I haven't done a b2b, but friends have. It works best if you have the same stateroom for both cruises, you don't have to pack up after the first one! After breakfast and when everyone is off the ship they have all the b2b people gather and you are escorted into the terminal to check in for the second cruise. You are all escorted back onto the ship and I think the process only takes about 1/2 hour (and it's a great opportunity for empty terminal photos! Cove Cafe is open and the whole family can go there during that time. I know there are some areas off limits and I'm not sure if you can get back into your stateroom till after lunch. I'll ask my friend and verify that for you.

Thanks so much for checking into it. I actually found another thread that answered all the questions but I'm still really torn about doing it. I'm not sure about 'losing' a day at Port Canaveral. I would love to do the 'double dip' 5 night cruise but they are only in the summer and that's too hot for me :scared1:

The character breakfast that they have on the Magic right now is just done in one of the regular restaurants. Don't think they do them on the 3 day and don't remember about the 4 day. :confused3

I'm wondering when they are going to break down and tell us about the second adult restaurant (it will be on the other side of the ship opposite Palo, rumor is it will be called Remy's and have a French based menu).

We're trying to work on getting my great neices on this cruise also. They will be a nine year old and 6 year old twins (think I got those ages right at time of cruise). We may have to leave their parents and baby brother home if the family can't pool enough funds! But their grandma, aunt and great aunts want to get them on the ship! :lmao:

It's always fun trying to get a group together...I had 20 of us on the 11/15/09 Wonder cruise. My niece loved it so much she wanted to cruise again for her special trip. They'll be leaving their parents home and baby brother too. I'll be saying "Yay for the Kids Clubs" after several park days.

TBH Deb, I shan't be mentioning too much to Rich right now. I've suggested we do the IF&WF in November 2011 as well as cruise on the Dream with y'all and he's agreed. That's enough for him at the moment as he's more than a bit preoccupied with work. I will explain the details when we're on vacation at the end of the month and he can properly engage... :hug:

Hi Kaz, like Richard, Mark is snowed under at work right now (think he'd have agreed to anything really) :( He worked 20 hours last Friday!! Hope he can wait for this holiday!

Think it was 9669 we booked., an inside, ....we decided as it was only a 4 day we could spend the extra on the rest of the holiday this time....hope I don't miss the verandah though!

We really are going to be almost directly under your cabin...lol!!! That corner one looks great btw!:woohoo:

We like to do champagne tastings onboard. It's a ladies only function and all are welcome. We charge a small fee and everyone has a good time.

It's a great group and this one sounds awesome as well. I booked the cruise today and am so thrilled. It will be my first disney cruise though I have toured one of the ships when I was a travel agent.

Kaz, when you are on the ship just tell the booking agent you want to reshop a cruise you booked on line. (Have you booked this one with a TA? It's easier to do if you have NOT used a TA, I think.) As long as the price of this cruise doesn't change significantly over the next six months, you should be able to at least be $100 ahead with the OBC. :thumbsup2

I can't believe I have 5 cruises booked for next year. I had to squeeze the info on my signature. The 2011 cruises went all the way across the page. I had to shorten some to make it look better.

If I have to cancel one because of time and money then I told John we would cancel the WBTA even though our good friends will be on it. I hope we can do them all, but one never knows. Either way, I'll be on this one.

Very cool. After final payment is made, we'll do a survey and everyone interested can sign up for whatever activities they want to do....Champagne Girls, stateroom tours, etc. I think I will ask our friend Ian to set it up for us....he does such a great job. Maybe we should do Shots Around The Ship too since we'll be on a new ship and will have to check out all the bars onboard....such a tough job, but somebody has to do it...haha.

I forgot that Ian and Sukie are going to be on this cruise and Ian usually heads up Shots Around the Ship. We go to every bar and order a drink from one end of the ship to the other. Everyone is invited and we don't care if you're just drinking water. Come one come all! It's a great way to get to know fellow cruisers.

But I couldn't place you anywhere that I had been. NOW it makes sense. You are so right, I was going to do a b2b cruise in Sept 09.....the first week was Tortola and the second week was the 9/19 P.I.R.A.T.E.S. cruise. I've been lurking on disboards ever since my sister convinced me to try a cruise. We settled on DCL since she hadn't tried them yet and we had both heard good things.

It'll be my family (me, DH, DS-3yo, DD-wee babe), my sister's family (her and husband + 3 boys!) and my in-laws. I'm sure my sister will join the thread too as we get closer.

I managed to snag the two corner Cat 9 rooms on deck 8 for us and my ILs (the ones that look a bit bigger and are HC on the lower decks). I hope they turn out to be good. I'm a little worried because FIL is a little prone to motion sickness and these rooms are all the way forward.

I have to say, the champagne girls sound like a blast! Looking forward to getting to know everyone.

We fly over to London the day we get off the ship, but are only there for a day and a half. My SIL has never been, so Sunday we will use the hop on-hop off bus so she can see a bit of the city. We will visit Harrods, of course!

I'd love to do the Panama Canal as well, but can't take the kids out of school that long, so I have to wait until they are in college I guess. DH used to say he couldn't do more than a week, but the other day he said he could probably do 2 weeks. I think he's weakening, lol.

UK Angel -- we've got our "extra kid" here for 10 weeks, he's from England (Newcastle). He's a 20 year old soccer coach who comes and stays with us a couple times a year and we've adopted him into the family. He keeps complaining that we don't have a kettle, lol. Apparently we Americans are lacking in that particular department. :laughing: Also our chocolate is not up to par. Last time he came he brought me about 20 Yorkie bars. Love those things (except I gained about 5 pounds!) Now if I could just get him to bring me 20 Kinder Eggs...

I totally understand, we had to wait until we became empty nesters to do the Panama cruise. We'll be taking our GS, nieces and nephew to DL in Nov so we won't feel any quilt leaving them all home for our cruise.

I am sooooo excited I can not wait to be on the Dream, I want to go down that slide soooo bad.

I will be on the Magic 2 weeks from tomorrow, to hold me over! This will be my 1st time on the Magic. My first Disney cruise was only a 3 nighter on the Wonder, and I decided it was WAY to short...so now I am going for the 11 nighter :laughing:

Hi! Thanks for doing this. The people who will be with me are my husband, mother, nephew who will be 14? at the time of the cruise, son who will be 6 and daughter who will be 3! I believe we are Cat 9A. Possibly even cabin 6666 plus one near it for my mom and nephew. Easy to remember anyway! So excited! Looks like we will have a great group on the ship!

Mr Tart (aka Richard) has just left the mean giant US investment bank he worked for to join a smaller, much friendlier US investment bank and is on so-called 'garden leave' for 3 months. Which is fab... :yay:

BUT the fiscal year is different at the new place and ends in - wait for it -NOVEMBER... :faint: SO he won't be joining us on this cruise. And I won't get him to the IF&WF for yet another year - which, given that he loves both food and wine, seems ridiculous... :headache: Oh well, September 2012 (and our 30th wedding anniversary) is calling...

We officially hit our first 100 degree day yesterday, but do have a cool front on it's way, so hopefully no more of those till June!

I may, or may not, do chores today. Will definately pay bills. Tomorrow is the LOST series finale, so I'll be sure I have beverages and munchies to get me through that adventure. I told my boss it was like my Super Bowl Sunday tomorrow! :lmao:

WTPug? Actually, when I worked for a while we had WDW discounts and then that went away but we got to cut in line on Spaceship Earth, after going up in the secret elevator and being able to get a cold drink and use a very clean potty.

OK, it is official! We reserved our stateroom tonight. I will call tomorrow to put in deposit! We are doing a B2B1 Nov 3 3 night and then the nov 6 4 night. I can not wait. I do need a favor though. I am currently going to school and i will be busy with that for the next 11 weeks and will not be able to pop in here on a regular basis, so i need someone to PLEASE if they would be willing to email me on any thing i need to know or info i do not want to miss. I know it is a good ways off but, HEY no time like the present to get things going .... RIGHT!

GEEZ! Finally finished readying the board......Sounds like this is going to be a fun cruise. Ok a list of things i read and want to comment about......

Count me in on Champagne girls Party. I do not drink Champagne but would love to join in.

Celebrations....our 15 yr anniversary is in 2011, we celebrate it LATE in the year because DH is in the military and we know that if we do our vacations in October or November it will not be interrupted by a possible 2 week active training.

ummm....i think there was other stuff i wanted to comment on but that was an hour of reading so i cant remember.

Cannot wait to get to know everyone one!!!!

OH by the way our trip will be our 3rd Disney Cruise, it will be myself and DH, we are childless parents (foster parents). we are doing a B2B nov 3-10. As of right now we have stateroom 7186 on hold until i get in touch with TA to put our deposit down!
