I just wanted to jump on this thread and share a link to a blog - (not sure if it's allowed or not mods - hope it's ok) http://vdmcrew.blogspot.com/

These are very good friends of ours that are still in Haiti. They have been living/working/helping in Haiti for the past 18 months and have quite a tale to tell. Please read their story - it will give you a good understanding of the what they went through during and after the earthquake last week. It brings this whole story very close to home for us. Thanks

I donated to Canada For Haiti and a group of us are holding fundraising activities at work. It's such a terrible tragedy. Canadians are being so generous; it's very heartwarming to hear about all our donations.

I didn't get to watch the show last night. We had previously donated.

So proud of the schools in our area. Our dd's high school had a free dress day and was hoping to bring in $5,000.00. We will know the grand total next week.

One of the elementary schools here was also have a sort of free dress day. They were asked to wear navy blue and red which are the colors of the flag of Haiti.

I think it is great that children are realizing the need to help others.

Its great how the kids are getting involved. My DS high school raised $10,000. They were at $7500 at 1:00 in the afternoon, then one of the chemistry teachers annouced if they could get the total to $10,000 by the end of the day, he would dye his hair blue. Looks like my sons chemistry teacher will be going to school on Monday with blue hair. (the reason for the blue is thats the schools main colour.)
