Very cool. If you click on the 2nd picture, the 3D model is very detailed and you can see alot of detail. Very interesting to surf around it and get a good visual of what they are planning.

:thumbsup2 , I was wondering when will they start to close some of fantasyland zones... I mean that would not be great for who's visiting by that time, wonder how they'll do it so people "wouldn't notice so much" they are working in some areas.

Very cool...
That's the most detailed pic I've seen to date.
It looks to me like the Little Mermaid ride will take up most of the 'back wall' towards the left side of the pic. Maybe some of that is a detailed queue area with perhaps waterfalls and other activities.
I'm not sure where the new restaurant is supposed to be, but I hear they use antlers in ALL of their decorating. ;)

From what I can tell from viewing the original blueprints, Pinnochio's Village Haus will become the new "Be Our Guest" restaurant. You could see it on the placement bumped up to Small World - the viewing Window over Small World is the kicker. Makes sense to retheme the existing area from a cost perspective.

I can't tell, is there still a Small World ride?!!! Are there any rides they're eliminating?!

Nothing from the existing Fantasyland is being removed. Now Dumbo is being obviously moved...but Magic Kingdom's original Fantasyland resides to the left and below all of the expansion.
Pinnochio's Village Hause isn't going away. It's just to the left of the Beauty and the Beast's portion of the expansion.

My mistake - thanks for catching that. I mistook something in the blueprint and didn't look closely enough. They are actually taking much more backstage area than I realized initially. If you look - the castle wall line fall behind Dumbo and all the way along the area of the old character meet and greet and the Sub water line. This means they can erest the castle walls and no one will have a clue what's going on behind it.
The road loop that next to the Be Our Guest restaurant is actually the cast bus road that dumps them off at the mouth of the tunnels. If you go to Google maps and turn on the satellite view, you can see the road loop and also see large cleared areas that will be added to this plan.

The only thing they won't be able to hide is the Dumbo move, unless they close Toon Town completely - which I expect will happen.

I'm thinking Toon Town will be completely shut down during that portion of the expansion. I just don't think there's a feasible way to simply mask portions of the construction in that part of the park. Plus...let's be honest...I don't think it'll be that huge a blow to the Magic Kingdom to just sbut it down...except for the possible loss of the train station back there.
And yes...the expansion is taking up a HUGE portion of land that has up till now not really been used.

Has any of this work started yet? Any walls up? Anything closed?

I'd be interested in knowing more about a timeline. Any info out there?

While I'm excited about the new stuff, I'm still sad about Toontown. I loved going through Mickey and Minnie's houses. I know some people thought they were boring, but in my mind, that is where Mickey and Minnie lived and now they are going to be homeless. :sad1:

I have to admit - the Barnstormer won't be the same without the chickens.

I'm glad to hear that the old Fantasyland rides will still be there. How much of a disruption will the construction be to the old part of Fantasyland?

Has anyone heard if Disney is putting in a new Dumbo or if they are moving Aladdin's carpets over there and refurbing it? I see no need for Aladdin's carpet to exist in this new refurb.
