Theres a thread about people getting a free dining PIN for Aug15th to Oct2 and was wondering if any Canadians have gotten this one yet? We got a PIN last year for free dining in OCtober but couldn't work out a trip and are keeping our fingers crossed to get another one this year.

If that PIN is floating around it sounds like another year of free dining for all. Last year it was annouced for the general public at the end of March.

I was hoping they wouldn't do it again this year, we are going back in Sept with free dining from our bounceback offer & when we were there in Sept the restaurants were packed! Wait times with reservations were ridiculous but I guess if hte economy is still down then they have to do what they have to do.

I think your right! I'm hoping to get another free dining PIN for October, but if not I guess we can rearrange our plans and go a few weeks earlier.

I've been there a few times at the beginning of.September.....I did notice this past Sept that it was a little busier than other years but since we have also been there, in recent years, in July it wasn't that bad for me. I only recall being kept waiting once, at Ohana, but they are notorious for that anyway.

I have not got this pin but eagarly await it.
But I think they changed it this year, from what I read.
Free Dining is being offered to, Moderate, Deluxe, and Deluxe Villas
Free Quick Serve Dining is now being offered to Values.
I wonder how that will change things...
Or will it make the Moderates book up that much quiicker?

My friend just booked her first trip ever to WDW. I coached her a bit ;). She was on the phone for 32 minutes with a CM named Steve who she thought was just a riot. She asked Steve about adding free dining if it was offered and he said she could, she asked again just to be sure and I guess he felt bad for my nervous friend and said "if you check the web site early in the morning on March 1, thats March 1st, you can call me after that and you will be all set."
So I guess the announcement will be March 1st.

I really want the free dining...pin or general public!
So...have no Canadians received this pin yet???
This whole "random" system is probably not so random after all!!

That's what it was for the fall promo last year....the summer one was still the regDDP for all resort levels. But I wouldn't be surprised to see this happen for the summer deal. The value resorts were packed. I know I would seriously consider the mods if this were the case. We have stayed at values twice and a mod once for FD.
I've pretty much decided I'm going to go again if it is offered......just not sure if I will go with just my youngest DD or if DH will come along as well. The cost for one extra person is pretty minimal. Also have to decide if I will go the last week of August, as usual, or later.

Thanks for sharing this info!!!! That helps so much with our trip planning. Also for anyone worried about the moderates filling up can book now and wait for the promo to begin!

My GF just booked PO yesterday & I called her today to let her know about the possibility of free dining during Sept so if it's offered she's just going to call. FYI, we were there in Sept 2009 with free dining & CBR wasn't full. I wouldn't have been surprised if the values though, their bus stops at the parks were full, especially at the end of EMH in the evening.

That offer was for the fall, not the summer. I read they normally announce the deals beginning of April.

I received a pin last year and we went in early Oct. Then they extended the dining for all so the pin was in the end not as "magical"!

I've seen a rumour on another board that "something" will be announced March 1. Some speculate that it will be the free dining dates for 2010.:)

We got the same PIN last year. Do you remember when it was sent to you? We were trying to remember when ours came and I don't think it came until July.

Ohhh it would be so nice to get a PIN for my trip in August. I am hoping that they come out with Free Dining, but a PIN would work too. Either way I would be happy!:goodvibes

I also got this PIN yesterday. It was only good for stays through mid-June, which according to Mousesavers is available to the general public too (and I felt all special-like...).
But - I kinda wanted to go in October for MNSSHP...so much to think about :confused3

We got ours July 22nd. Same situation as jmann, about a week or so after we booked they announced free dining for all! But at least we got our ADR's in before the rush.

That's what I want!!! But I'm scared to let my current PIN go to waste in case Disney punishes me :sad2: by not sending another PIN or releasing FD to the general public

I don't think you have to worry about that...this is the 3rd one they have sent me and as I book Agents rates have never had the need to use one. If they were that organized, they wouldn't be sending them to me still!;)

How does a person get these PIN numbers? My friend and I will be going 3-13th December this year, but free dining! That saves so much money! Do they ever offer it for the first two weeks of December?
Is it the same dates every year or does it change?
I guess I picked the wrong time to go to WDW.

I signed up my e-mail at disney.ca, and asked for vacation planning dvd, and I received a PIN last June for free dining for our trip this past December. You have picked a great time to go in my opinion. The place will be all lit up and decorated for Christmas, and the longest we waited for a ride was 8 minutes. I got dining reservations for character dining no problems the morning of, as I was sick and kept putting off doing it in advance. I even could have had a Cinderella Royal Table one, but my daughter is too much of a tomboy to appreciate that.
I just received a PIN yesterday for discounted resort rates, but we are planning a trip to Tokyo instead, and hoping to go to Tokyo Disneyland.

Thanks evenadlo! I just applied for my Disney planning DVD last week. Is the email signup part of that process or separate from it?
Well I'm glad that I picked a good time and that there is still a possibility of getting discounts.
The only problem is it's going to take SO LONG to get here!

I literally started jumping up and down when I got the PIN in June. It was worth waiting. There are no guarantees about getting a PIN, but I just signed up for everything (the disney e-mails, updates, and as a login for the site) in hopes of getting something. Good luck getting one; it will be a long wait, but hopefully it will pay off.

When in December did you go? I've always wanted to see the Christmas decorations but thought it would be way too busy, but it sounds like it wasn't too bad when you went.

I've been signed up with Disney for 2 years & never received a PIN. Also have 2 vacation DVD's & still never a PIN, not sure how they decide who gets them? We are booked though with free dining for Sept 2010 right now so never really care about PINS, but would like to know why I haven't got one ever?

How did you get free dining without a PIN?
I suspect when you signed up for your DVD's, etc... it asked you to check a box to receive e-mails about promotions, etc... and you said NO.
That only means you won't receive the e-mail, but the PIN is still attached to your profile in their computer system, therefore you did get the PIN.
Maybe....?

We went December 6th to 12th. It was really great! We did use the fast-pass for the most popular rides, but honestly did not have long waits. Our friends went in January, and when she saw our pictures, said that they were definately going back in December. The first two weeks are low season and a great time to go.

Does Disney have your e-mail? Also make sure any e-mails aren't going into the junk mail. Disney had the wrong e-mail for me, when I checked in on our 2008 trip they asked for my e-mail and we discovered that it was missing a number. I have since been getting e-mails with PIN codes. I also have gone onto the website and made customized maps.

DH get the best codes emailed to him even though I am the one that does all the disney dealings and its my name and email that has ordered the DVDs, paid for vacations etc. Then I figured out that we made the customized maps and had them sent to DH's sister in Michigan in his name. So in the disney system it appears that he is american and seems to get all the PINs offered. I've never gotten a PIN sent to me.....the one that actually does all the work:confused3

We booked the bounceback offer while we were there in Sept 2009 for free dining Sept 2010. Nothing to do with a PIN.
They have my email, I checked off they could even send me stuff snail mail as well as email. My junk folder is empty & I check it because it tells me when something's been sent there.
I have no idea why I've never received a PIN?
