Quick question.
We are going to WDW for two weeks in November.
1. Carribean Beach Resort for 6 nights 12th-18th November
2. Three Day Bahamian Cruise on DCL - 18th-21st November
3. Coronado Springs Resort for 5 nights - 21st-25th November
We're going to buy the 14 day UK Ultimate Ticket.
We qualify for the free dining plan on the first part of the stay.
We want to buy the dining plan for the Coronado part of the stay but Disney are telling us we can't buy it as we are not buying tickets for that part of the reservation.......but we will have purchased a 14 day ticket on the first part of the reservation, and we're only staying 6 nights at that stage! So why can't we buy the dining plan for the Coronado part?
Any views/advice?
Thanks.

It's the one thing Disney does that I don't like. For the DDP, you must purchase at least a 1 day Park Ticket. It sounds like you have a room only reservation for your portion at Coronado Springs. You would need to purchase a ticket to get the DDP during that part of your stay.

Because it's not a package reservation. The dining plan is available only as an add-on to a package reservation. Unless you are an annual passholder, or you are eligible for the military room discount, or you are a DVC member staying on points, you must buy park tickets as part of the package.
You'd have to change your Coronado Springs reservation to a package and purchase at least a one-day park ticket for all members of your party to be eligible for the dining plan on that reservation.

have you booked yet? If not, do the first bit through Disney UK, buy ticket, get free dining, book second bit through disney us, buy 1 day tic each, save for next trip:thumbsup2

What is the price difference for you to upgrade one of the tickets to an AP?
You could book the second half as an AP (forget the proper name) room with dining. You just have to show the AP at check in. Then you won't have to buy everyone else a one day ticket to get the DDP.
You might even save some money if you buy things at World of Disney (DTD) using the AP discount.

That's EXACTLY what I would recommend. Planning a split stay after our next trip and will be doing the booking on both sides of the Atlantic or completely through the US website.
If you haven't booked yet:
Buy your 14 day ultimate tix from Disney UK as part of the package (CBR) for your first part of the vacation.
Buy your CRS as a MYW package thru Disney US and get each member of your party a one day base ticket. Your Ultimate tickets cover your park hopping, waterparks etc and they are all you need for your stay at great value. But you cannot add no expiration to them. Your MYW base tickets can be used for your first or last day at WDW as they ulitmate tix expire 14 days after activation, whether you use them or not. UK flights get in late afternoon on arrival and leave usually in the evening on departure - which means you are short of a "short day" at the parks if you want to use it on your first or last day.
If you book through Disney UK the minimum park tickets you can get are 5 day passes and they are only nominally cheaper than 14 days so it really isn't worth it if you can't use at least part of it.
Also, if you haven't booked yet, have a look at getting both reservations done on Disney.com (US). I have found them to be better value and quite frankly have had several service issues with Disney UK on our current reservation. It is good to look at all your options first.
