Ok so after reading a few PTR's I have decided to start my very 1st one! Keeping my fingers crossed that this all goes right  This trip will be a celebration of many things: Our 10 year wedding anniversary, just 5 months late, my oldest will turn 10 at Disney (still trying to figure out how that happened) and it will be our princess' 1st trip!

Meet the Gang:

The one REALLY pushing for this trip & the one making all of the arrangements, Yours Truly: Joni! I am a 29 year old SAHM to 2 :wizard: :wizard: and 1 very beautiful little princess:, but I'm just a little biased in my opinion . I have been married to the love of my life for almost 10 years now (our anniversary is in 9 days!)!

Our 7 year old, Brady:

And our 9 month old princess, Shelby (who will be 14 months when we bring her "home" to her castle):

Disney here we come!!! June 19-June 23, 2010. We are staying at All Star Music & an ADR at Play n Dine at Hollywood and Vine. My son wanted to go to HS for his birthday & graciously said that he would do that ADR for his baby sister since she adores the Little Einsteins (she's dancing and talking to Leo now as we speak!)

We are leaving Louisiana and driving the long 12 hr drive on June 18th & check in on the 19th. DH will be soooo tired!!! Ah, he can sleep later! The plans as of now are the 19th Epcot, the 20th HS, the 21st MK, the 22nd AK, the 23rd MK & the 24th head home. Now I'm famous for changing thing around all the time, so this can change at a moment's notice lol. This is a very budgeted trip & will be paid off with income taxes & hoping to do it for under $3000. Good thing I married into a Disney family, my in laws are really good about giving money for the kids to spend at Disney and they will be putting their allowance towards spending money also.

We were in WDW Jan 07. It was my first trip along with my boys. Like I mentioned, I married into a Disney family & my DH has been there about 4 or 5 times prior to this trip. I had mentioned that I lost my disc of my Disney pictures from that trip, which I still have not found. I was able to get some of them from my mother in law though, so I'll leave you with a few of those pics. Enjoy!

Us at Epcot, I look like crap, but I didn't care, I was at Disney

Wanna know how it all started? Well here you go!

One Saturday Ben & I are sitting down watching Playhouse Disney with Shelby while the boys are trying to kill each other in their bedroom lol & Shelby was dancing & smiling the entire time. I looked at Ben & said, "I wanna bring Shelby to Disney." I was expecting the usual, "One day" or "I know", much to my surprise I got "How about in June for Koby's birthday?" I IMMEDIATELY jumped on the WDW website & started planning & figuring everything out. My MIL had gone this past summer for her 16th time & always brings back tons of Guide Maps from the parks. So then I start pulling those out! Pop in the 2009 Disney Vacation Planner DVD & within an hour I had everything planned & ready to go!

I had said I wanted to do something big for Koby since this was his 10th birthday & making it to the double digits is a big deal for him, for me it just means he's really no longer my baby :sad1:. How much bigger can you get to celebrate a birthday than Disney? He's all excited now.

Here comes the only troubling part of the trip, Brady being left out. Koby's birthday=big deal, Shelby's 1st trip=big deal. Brady's 2nd trip, not so much. His birthday isn't until October, so he really can't celebrate that yet. Hopefully I can think of something for him to celebrate, besides being the only one in our family that is a big brother & a little brother.

I'm trying to teach Shelby to say "I wanna go see Mickey Mouse, Daddy." but we have to work on "ma ma" first. I'm tired of being called "da da" all day! :lmao:

So there's the background of how this trip came to be & I cry everytime I see a Disney commercial or a sweet pic of any Disney character & a child or any magical moment.

Same exact one. I had run into Family Dollar for something and saw it. Couldn't pass it up...I was like 6 weeks pregnant, lol!:goodvibes Same size and everything. I couldn't believe that they had Disney clothes at the dollar store!

Hoping to find a future Disney lover to pass it on to.

With my family being all for Disney, pretty much 90% of my kids clothing is Disney related. And now I get to do Princess things!!! I'm so excited about that one. Kind of bummed she's too little for BBB, but she really has hardly any hair anyway, so I'll just put that on the list of things to do when she's 3!

I LOVE Target, too!! I am there WAY too much!! :lovestruc I know what you mean--my girls were the same way--it took forever to get hair. However, in that pic you posted it looks like she has some on top!! I put grippers in all of the smaller bows I make for those with little hair and it really helps to keep the bow in place!! All I do is cut strips of Latex-free bumpy shelf liner and glue it on the clip!! You should SOOOOO try it!!! :cutie: Check out this pic of Claire on her 1st birthday--notice the lack of hair but the bow is staying in!!

You will notice I mention her ALOT, even though I have 2 boys. Not that I love them any less (which I have been accused of more than once), but she's my Princess, my baby. The girl I never thought I would have. So before I started getting "You say you have boys, why don't you mention them?" comments, I was wondering, should I do a background on Shelby that way you will all get an idea on how much she really does mean to me? Just curious.

We have to go back to 2006, my mom, my best friend was dying with Leukemia. My heart was breaking. I had already lost my dad to suicide in 2000 when my 1st son was 2 months old. My dad & I was not that close. He was a drug addict & alcoholic. My mom was the one who raised me & to be honest I can not sing her praises enough. She was just my entire world. When my mom was dying I told her "I know why you are leaving me, you are leaving me to take care of Shelby." (I have had that name picked out for my daughter since I was 12, thanks to Steel Magnolias.) She smiled, nodded & said yes. I told her not to send her yet, I was not ready for her, but tell her how much I love her. A few hours later, holding my mom's hand, her looking directly at me, my mom took her last breath. It was one of the most precious moments in my life. I miss her like crazy. Fast forward to 2007, DH & I had a 6 month separation due to my infidelity, which has NEVER happened, nor will it happen again. WE made this work when all odds were against us, including family. I was content to have our 2 boys, who were my entire life at the time. He wanted to have another baby, I said no. Not long after all of my friends are either pregnant or having babies & baby fever hit me. Aug 12, 2008 I found out I was pregnant. I knew immediately it was my Shelby. Now my mom's birthday is Nov 16th & mine is Nov 19th. The ultrasound to find out the sex of the baby was Nov 20th. This is the pic I get....
http://i562.photobucket.com/albums/ss65/shelbys-mommy/18weeksitsagirl.jpg
It's my girl! I screamed, looked at DH & said "She did it, Mama did it." The dr looking confused said, "Your mom had nothing to do with this." I told her that she didn't understand & told her the story. My mom was a devout Christian & my due date was April 23, 2009. The morning of April 12, 2009 at 3:30 am, Easter Sunday, my water broke. At 8:50 am, we finally met our Princess:
http://i562.photobucket.com/albums/ss65/shelbys-mommy/100_3861.jpg
My mom's first and middle name was Lisa Ann. Shelby's name is Shelby Lisa-Ann. My mom is her angel. I love my boys, but that little girl is my life. Growing up I never dreamed I would have boys. There was no disappointment that I had boys ever, but just always wanted my girl. I have her. As far as princess, her crib bedding should say it all...

Hello! :wave2:

I am new to your PTR and I just read it through. How precious are your children!! My DD's bows never stay in her hair--it is too fine. Some will stay but it took FOREVER it felt like before I could have a bow in her hair.

How great it is to celebrate ODS' birthday. :goodvibes And of course, your anniversary. :goodvibes HMMM...what could YDS celebrate--does he make good grades? Perhaps you can make a big deal with it being near the end of school (or I am assuming so since you are going in June).

My 2010 Disney Vacation Planning DVD came in today!!!! I ripped it open & popped in the dvd. The minute I heard the music I broke out crying my eyes out & it stayed that way until the dvd was over. The part that made me cry the most? When Shelby looked up at the tv, saw Mickey, squealed & HUGE smile on her face. If I'm crying this much now, I hate to see when I get to Disney! Every picture will be of me crying or wiping away tears!

I need to order my 2010 CD. They always make me cry, too! When we went in October last year Ashlyn was being cranky while we were in line to see Mickey and Minnie. I was thinking great, she's going to be crying in the pictures. But we were almost there so we stuck with it. As soon as we were in the room with them and she saw Mickey, she lit up and started pointing and smiling and just "talking" up a storm (she was 13 months so she wasn't exactly talking :cutie:). So I was the one who was crying. :rotfl: It is the best experience!

I am so excited the Saints won too. :goodvibes I graduated from Purdue and knew Drew Brees when he attended. :thumbsup2 I never really watch the Super Bowl but I may have to this year--Colts (I grew up in Indiana and my dad and sister's family are HUGE fans) and Saints--the two teams I would love to see there. Oh, who to root for...:lmao:

Wow, what a week this has been! After the long awaited Saints vs Vikings game, I think my house is starting to look normal again. Let's just say, there were screams, cheers, tears & maybe a little too much alcohol to be had that night :lmao:

Then Ben fell asleep on the recliner & somehow managed to fall out of the recliner :confused3 don't ask how. So I jump up to check on him cause he head bounced off the floor. Well, I jump up, kick the coffee table & mangaed to either break or really jam my big toe. Yesterday I could not walk at all. I elevated it & kept ice on it & now I can walk again & bend it somewhat. Now I don't feel like I'm dying & in pain constantly.

Tomorrow is our 10 year wedding anniversary!!!! We have made it:lovestruc No one would have ever thought we would have made it this far. So tomorrow night all the kiddos have babysitters for the night & we are having a date night for the 1st time in forever!
So here we are 10 years ago saying "I do". We look like babies!

Thank you! I'm super excited! The teething isn't bad at all. I can tell when the tooth is fixing to pop out. The day before she's total grouch & the next day she's happy. Other than that, it's going pretty good. I've only had to give her Teething Tablets a few times. We are waiting on tooth #4 any day now to come out, then she will have 2 on the top & 2 on the bottom.

Awww, they're so cute with just a few teeth. Ashlyn is all uneven. She has 4 on top (not including the molars that are just popping/getting ready to pop) and only two on bottom.

Wow! What a wonderful night we had last night! It started off Ben had to work late, which I was NOT happy about. Once he got home & got ready we were on our way! We dropped off Brady at my MIL's house until my BIL got off of work, then off to drop off Shelby at my other BIL's house & there were no tears from me! I was so proud! After, drop off Koby at my OTHER BIL's house & then the night was ours! We went eat at Olive Garden. It was so strange just eating the 2 of us, sitting at a table for 2! After way too much food, we walked to Academy & bought the boys each a Saints shirt. It's our anniversary & the kids are getting presents! How you like that? But I got a new Saints shirt too, so it was ok lol. Then we went off to Target, then Wal Mart, which resulted in a purchase for Shelby. We had already bought for the boys, we had to get for her too! We had decided to see a movie, but the only thing we saw playing that would be worth it was Chipmunks 2 the Squeakel & we know the boys would get mad if we saw that without them, so we decided against it. Here it is 9 pm & we had no idea what to even do! I remembered my uncle owns a bar in town & we had never been there. Very seldom do we ever have all 3 kids gone for the night! So we decided to stop by & surprise everyone. My cousin was the bartender & boy was she surprised! She ran from behind the bar to hug us & asked us what we were doing there & we told her that it was our anniversary. Her reply was "Drinks are on me!" Well, hell, that sounds like a good plan to me. Ben only had 1 beer since he was driving, but said I could drink all I wanted. My cousin made me her famous drink. I have no idea what it's called, but it's a bunch of different types of alcohol mixed together. It tasted like Hawaiian Punch & it was GOOD. So after a few drinks there, she asked us to stay until closing because she had a box of clothes for Shelby. HUGE box! Sizes ranging from 18 months to 4T. Let's just say Shelby is set on clothes for a long time, considering she's only in 3-6 month clothes! We got home just after 3 am & we went straight to bed. Around noon today we started going round up the kids & bringing them home. We had such a great night out. Everyone said that the kids behaved like they were supposed to, so I was a very happy mommy! Shelby's 4th tooth even came out while she was with my BIL! Here is our new family pic!

Thank you all for the Happy Anniversary comments. It has been a wild 10 years & we are looking forward to many many more to come! Oh & Ben's anniversary present? A REAL NFL Saints jersey!

Yeah it's very rare we get a night without any of the kids. I always get offers for people to keep Shelby, but I can't bear to let her go! Now the boys, they will watch them alone. Put the 2 of them together & they are ready to kill each other!

Not necessarily--it just depends on what you're wanting. Add a layer it's another $1. Add a bottlecap it's another $2. Any print ribbon is going to cost the same as a solid color. Does that answer your question? :goodvibes

OMG WHAT A NIGHT!!!! My beloved Saints WON!!!!! I cried my eyes out! Then I left & went put a Black & Gold pom pom on my mom's grave. I just had to. I told her that her Saints won & I knew how excited she would be. Made me cry more.

Then today, I get a phone call from Koby & Brady's teachers. They BOTH got Student of the Month for their grades. I had to be at school for 9 am for their ceremony. After a high like last night & then to get this call, I'm just bursting with pride. Here are my boys...still wearing their jerseys lol
http://i562.photobucket.com/albums/ss65/shelbys-mommy/100_3281.jpg

And of course I'm watching all the Saints coverage & I hear "When You Wish Upon a Star" and of course my head flies to the tv. The next words I hear are "Drew Brees, you & the New Orleans Saints just your very 1st Super Bowl. What are you going to do now?" "I'M GOING TO DISNEY WORLD!!!" The Black & Gold Mickey balloons go in the air & I'm crying again. I swear I should have no more tears left!

Man! I've gotten so behind on my PTRs and TRs. I am caught up on yours now, though!

I love all the bows you've gotten! As the bow-loving mother to 2 baldie girls, I feel your pain. I use glue on bows for my youngest, who is 6 months old. I also used them for my oldest from the time she was born until about 10 months old, when she was finally able to keep clip bows in. I ordered my bows from my friend in WI, but she had a family emergency not long ago (don't worry; everyone is fine!) and has shut down her website. I'm not sure when she'll be back up and running, but if you want to look around, here's the site:

http://bellasblessings.org/

I found these on etsy, but they don't come with glue. This woman offers suggestions, but I've never had anything stick as well as the Bella's Blessings glue.

http://bellasblessings.org/

I have also ordered bows from this etsy shop, and they are on super small clips.
http://www.etsy.com/shop/SweetyBaby

They stay in really well on very fine baby hair. Once Shelby's hair comes in, I don't think these will work anymore.

I love Becky's bows, too! I haven't bought any yet, but I'm getting my list together. :cutie: I will definitely be buying some character bows when I get some outfits planned!

Speaking of my babies....
:lovestruc I already have the name picked out for when I will hopefully have a daughter (Ella:cutie: yeah, it's getting popular but I still love it)
That's my baby girl's name! We named her after my mom, whose first name is Marcella (but she goes by her middle name). It doesn't hurt that it's Cinderella's real name, too! Our Princess Ella gets to meet Cinderella in less than 10 months!! :cool1:

Congrats on the Saints win! Like I told you before, we're Colts fans, but even though we lost, I'm still happy for y'all. Couldn't have happened to nicer guys. I have always liked Drew Brees, but after seeing him with his son, I'll forever be a fan! That was just the sweetest thing I think I've ever seen! I just melt when I see that replay. And can you imagine how his son will feel knowing that he was on the cover of SI at such a young age?? Unbelievably sweet.

I am asking everyone to pray for Koby & Shelby. Koby has been running a fever all day of no lower than 102, so he has to go to the dr tomorrow. Shelby...is just really tiny. She has to go to the dr tomorrow also for a weight check. She is 9 months old (10 months tomorrow on the 12th) and is 14 lbs & 26 inches. Third percentile for weight & 5th for height. She eats like crazy & her blood work came out fine. At her 6 month check up she was 14 lbs. In 3 months time she gained 3 oz. If she has not gained at least 2 lbs, then more blood work & PediaSure to help her gain. Thank you all so much!

She is small, too, always hanging around the 5th percentile for weight (and had dropped down to the 3rd at one point) so we've had to do the blood tests and go see a nutritionist and all that, too. I pray that everything will turn out okay.

Thank you so much! Koby has the flu. He picked the perfect time to get it since they are out of school all next week due to Mardi Gras. Shelby now weighs 15 lbs 13 oz so she gained!!!! We are sooooo happy! Her next appt is for her 1 yr check up on April 12th!

Goodness! Shelby is a tiny little peanut! I'm so glad to hear that she gained! I'm with Becky, my girls have always been at least in the 50th percentile for weight and the 90th for height, so I'm not used to the tiny ones or the roly poly ones. Sometimes I wish I had a bunch of baby rolls to pinch! :lmao:

Phew, what a week!!!! Koby had the flu, then Brady got it, then Shelby! No rest for the weary mommy! I was up all hours of the night with all 3 kids!!!! Thank God the kids were out of school for Mardi Gras that way they didn't have to miss any school. They are all finally doing better now! Thank God!!!

And for the AWESOME news!!!!! Disney has been booked & paid off! We were waiting until our taxes came in, that way I could just book it & pay it off at once. And the check was in the bank that I know of at 6:30 am. By 7:15 it was booked & paid off!!!!!

Only 120 days to go!!!!!

Wow! My dumb butt forgot to book my ADR ahead of time, even though the trip wasn't booked!!!! I just rememberd & called. Thankfully Play & Dine at Hollywood & Vine is available!!! And when they asked the ages of the kids & told them that Koby was turning 10 that day, they said they would have a very special birthday surprise just for him!!!! They also told me that when we get there I can tell them at the podium to have something special for Koby at the table or I can call back to arrange it later on!!! I can't wait!!!! They also asked if I would need a high chair or a booster seat for Shelby. I was very very impressed when I called to make the reservation. It's not June 19th yet?

The shopping has offically begun! I bought me 2 shirts last night, which I will post pics of later. One of my friends so graciously offered to make Pillowcase dresses for Shelby for Disney as long as I bought the material & ribbon. So off to Hobby Lobby I went! There wasn't much of a selection to choose from with Disney material. I was not happy. But I managed to get 3 different ones with ribbons to match each. I was disappointed that I could not find any solid color ribbon also! So all of her ribbons has polka dots. I can't wait to bring them to her & have them made! Here are the pics of the material & ribbons!

Today we took the kids to Audubon Zoo. After going to the Memphis Zoo, this zoo sucks!:lmao: But we still had a great day. Here are 2 of the pics out of over 150 we took today.

I had to get Shelby prepared to ride Cinderella's Carousel & so she rode the Endangered Species Carousel. She didn't know what to think of it at first, but once it took off, this was her reaction:

When we started the planning for this trip, I had asked Ben about the DDP. He said no. He said it cost too much money & we could bring our own snacks to eat. When we went in 07, Disney did not have the DDP, so we really wasn't missing out on anything. Well, Ben talked to a co worker today who told him that when they had went to Disney not that long ago, they did the DDP & it did save them money in the long run. So he comes home asking me about it. I pulled up everything I could find on it & read it all to him. I asked him if he wanted to do it & his reply was "We might as well. Sounds like it will be worth it." :woohoo:He wants to do the basic one since we are only doing one Character Dining. But I'm still happy about it!

On another note, I noticed in about 35 mins, the re-run of Cake Boss in WDW will play, so I have the tv set to remind me to change the channel!

I wish I could talk him into flying instead of driving. It's a 10+ hr drive. I'd love to fly & be there in less than 2 hours, but I don't see that happening anytime soon.

It's not June 19th yet? I'm ready to go now!:rotfl:

So it really was worth it for you & your family? Ben told me to go ahead & call Disney & add it on, but I can tell he's still unsure about it. I told him it would save me on dragging tons of snacks to the parks everyday! I'm looking out for me & all the extras I would have to bring along!:lmao:

It was definitely worth it! I haven't totaled all of our receipts up yet to find out how much we actually would have spent without the plan but I'm planning to do that soon so I can add in the information at the end of my TR.

For the two of us the DDP cost about $560 and we were there from Sun - Sun. I totaled our costs from Sun - Thurs afternoon and we were already at $460 so I definitely know we came out ahead because we had CRT reservations for Saturday and that alone was over $100. If nothing else I think it's worth it to have the meals taken care of ahead of time. :thumbsup2 That and not having to worry about taking a bunch of food and drinks into the park. We had planned on doing that on our trip two years ago and after about 2 days we gave up - it was such a hassle!

I hope all of that made sense :confused3

Made perfect sense to me! That was a point I had made last night to Ben: we are pre-paying for our food. Less money we have to bring with us. Or in my case, extra money for spending:laughing:

I will already have to have a diaper bag full of the things Shelby needs, along with extra snacks. I just didn't want to have to bring 2 bags of stuff! I plan on getting the biggest diaper bag I can find & cramming everything we need in that. I'm hoping to bring only 1 bag on the park.

Hello, just found your PTR and I'm joining in. ;)

First of all, your kids are adorable. :goodvibes Shelby is beautiful and reminds me a LOT of my own daughter. ((Except she'll be turning 4 next month)) They look like they have the same shade of blue eyes and my DD also lacked in the hair department. She didn't start growing any until she was about 2 1/2. ((If you check out my PTR I have old pictures of her from our past disney trips, and you can see just how bald she was)) I was so excited the day I could finally put her hair up in a ponytail. :woohoo:

I also have a 10 week old baby boy who is bald, but that's different. Actually I think he has more hair on his head right now then she did when she was 2. :rotfl:

We're leaving for Disney in 9 days and I'm NOT looking forward to how much stuff I need to take for a baby, so I feel ya. If I can come up with any good solutions I'll let you know.

As far as your invitations go, my favorite is the first one. princess:

cute fabric and ribbon for Shelby's dresses! Such a nice thing for your friend to do for her!!

:yay: for DDP! I am assuming that is the one you are doing or are you looking at the QSDP and paying OOT for the character meal?

We are still driving :car: too. I price out flights about once every few weeks but by the time I add in parking fees, luggage fees and food still at the airports it evens out for us. So we are driving, which we are looking at as part of the fun!! (or so I keep telling myself :scared:).

Cute zoo pictures!! We love  the zoo.

I agree with the advantages of the DDP, having those meals paid for before we get there is so nice!!

I like number 4 best--my DD thinks they are very cute!

This past weekend was New Orleans Hornets Day at the Audubon Zoo. Well the mascot, Hugo T. Hornet was there & I wanted Shelby to get a pic with him & to see how she would react. I was so happy that she did not cry. There were quite a few kids that screamed when he would walk by them. Not my crew, they jumped in line to get a pic with Hugo. She would just stare at him & smile. I'm so ready to walk her up to Mickey!

Tomorrow we get to take off the 1st link! I think I am more excited about it than the boys.:lmao:

Thank you! After seeing those pics, there was no way I could pick just 1 pose for the package, so I wound up getting extras....only spent $119 on pics :rotfl:

Hard to believe that next month my baby girl will be 1! I'm so saddened by this. She's my last baby :sad1: This year has flown by!

Well, I had posted pics of the invitations I made in a previous post, but when I found a Princess 1st birthday set with invitations included, I had to get it. Maybe for her 2nd birthday we'll do Disney Princesses.

Here are some of the decorations & the invitations (I have swirled out my address & phone number)

Love the count down chains!!

I, too, have a princess who had no hair in her first year. I would have been thrilled if she had as much hair as Shelby does. Here is a pic of her hair in a pony tail. Trust me, if her hair was down, it is huge. She made up for her early lack of hair in a big way.

Well today was, HELL, to put it mildly. I have no clue what got into Shelby, but apparently she got a case of the busy hands & was into everything! The garbage, the cabinets, the dvds. You name it, she got into it. The only reason she didn't dig in the toilet is because I have a gate blocking the hallway. Her hand was red from me popping her hand from digging. Yes I am THAT mom.

Then Koby comes home with the worst attitude known to man. He's already grounded from the computer & ps2 for 5 weeks for his attitude & smart mouth. Well, apparently, he could have cared less today. I told him he's now grounded for 6 months. I give up. I don't know what to do with that kid anymore. Next step is no Disney trip for him. I don't care if it's his birthday or not. I can't deal with this anymore.

Shelby was whiny & clingy & neither one of the boys wanted to take her & play with her so I could go to the bathroom. Ben had to work 2 hrs late (he's on salary & does not get paid extra for working late). I was NOT a happy mommy. If you are on my FB, you know by my status updates.

So, Ben walks in the door & hands me the mail, yes, I could not even get out to check the mail! And what do I see in the mail? This!
http://i562.photobucket.com/albums/ss65/shelbys-mommy/100_0516.jpg

That made me happy!!! I put Little Miss Busy Hands to bed & told the boys to talk to their father about anything they needed. I was having Mommy time! And I opened the envelope very carefully & was thrilled! We are that much closer to Disney!

Here's to praying tomorrow is much smoother!

Hi Connie! :welcome: Thanks so much, like I said it took 3 hrs, but so worth it!

We had a great day at the zoo. We are members, so it costs nothing for us to just up & go.

Memphis Zoo...wow! We went to Memphis when we evacuated for Gustav & got discounted tickets because we were from Louisiana! That zoo is just awesome! I will have to find pics to post while we were there. We also did Graceland & Koby fell in love & now he's my die hard Elvis fan! We plan to go back once Shelby is older. Brady fell in love with Michael Jackson after his death, so I have the King of Rock & Roll & the Prince of Pop in my house! :lmao: Koby wants to be Elvis for Halloween & Brady wants to be MJ, so I'm thinking Shelby will be Lisa Marie or Britney Spears (the princess of pop) :rotfl:

No, my boys were nothing like her! She's been walking since she was 7 month old, so she'll probably be running to Mickey when we get there!

Kohl's had the minnie and mickey online only...the price was not bad either.
I never ever thought I would use one but with Ashton he scared me pretty good when he was 16 mo old in a store (he moved just fast that I did not know which way he went--scary when they really can't talk) and again for Gustav we were in a small town in AL. I thought he was with Danny, Danny thought he was with my parents, and they thought I had him...needless to say he was running down the sidwalk out of the hotel...he never left MY SIGHT the rest of the weekend...I still don't let my daughter or mom take him out much

BTW he loves his monkey backpack! we both hold the tail while we walk through crowds, stores, parking lots, etc...

I hear you on the hands thing!!! My DS (17 months) is horrible about touching and grabbing (and running away with) everything!!! I also feel your pain on the bathroom issue- I don't think I have peed by myself in ages! DS always goes with me- to the point he wants to shove toilet paper in the toilet when I am...... **!

:banana::cheer2::dance3:Yeah for 100 Days!

Shelby sounds like my Colby! He is only 10 months and I have not seen him try to climb out of his crib yet...but I am sure with another month...but his newest discovery is the stairs. He climbs up a couple stairs and then turns around and tries to just step off...

One of my friends got a tent thing to put over her son's crib because he was climbing out. It worked for her!

WoW! Davy still hasn't climbed out of his crib! I don't think it has dawned on him that he could get out on his own.... hopefully it stays that way. That would freak me out! Finding him walking around when I thought he was in his crib.

As for the kid leash- might be a good idea. We didn't do last trip, and yes- he could run at that point- but he is good about staying in his stroller for the most part. I never had problems with the boys when it came to Santa or the Easter Bunny & when we went to Disney Koby was 6 & Brady was 4, so they were older & I never thought twice about them freaking out. Now that I'm going with a baby, I read the stories here on DS of how badly some of the little ones were scared. Thank you all so much!

my ds was the same way. he weighed almost the same thing at 8 months as he did at 3 months. well, now he's certainly changed that since he's eating real food. he's jumped from 20 % height and 4% weight to 45 height and 55% weight at 12 months.

We actually saw buddy and the group on our trip! it was our last day, and we were waiting outside the Chapeau for my sister and here came the group of them with the TLC cameras!

It's been awhile since I have updated! We are only 87 days away from Disney!!!!:cool1:

The boys have been so excited to go, so we decided to make a chart for them to earn their Disney money. This one is a little different. Anytime they have to get corrected, they lose money! They get $14 every 2 weeks, everytime they get corrected, they lose 10 cents. At the end of the 2 weeks, if they have no marks, they get $16! So far, Brady has 7 marks & Koby has 0. You can tell who is taking this seriously  But he still gets upset when he gets a mark on the chart. This has cut back on the attitude issues, the fighting, the just not listening. Hopefully this will keep up & after Disney the new behavior stays! Here are pics of each of their charts.

Koby's

Brady's
http://i562.photobucket.com/albums/ss65/shelbys-mommy/100_0693.jpg

And of course come report card time they got money put in our Disney bank aka old formula can:rotfl:. Koby's GPA is 3.78 & Brady's is 4.0. They have maintained those exact GPA's all year long!

Shelby busted out 3 new teeth & has been talking & running around like crazy. So now that it's her nap time, I knew I needed to update! I still have not added the DDP, Ben is still unsure about it, so :confused3. I really need to figure out if we are eating on the parks or if we are going back to the hotel or if I have to bring lunches for everyone, which I seriously hope not. I'd rather eat on the parks even if we have to pay OOP. Last time we went we ate at Pecos Bill at MK, Chef Mickey's, Restuantasarous (sp?) at AK, Pizza Planet at HS, and that was it. We didn't even see the countries at Epcot. So that will be a new thing for us. Any places you recommend? We were there in 07, so I really don't remember how the food was.

We also didn't get to spend alot of time doing Character Greetings, my MIL was "we have to go here" the entire time & we never did see any parades or any fireworks. This trip will be tons of Character Greetings, parades & fireworks (I just hope Shelby cooperates).

Tomorrow Shelby will spend the day with my MIL so I will start trying to figure out exactly what to do & where to go. Should I do EMH? Is it worth it? We didn't do them last time.

So many decisions!!!!

I also cut my hair in preparation for Disney! Over 6 inches GONE! It was a shock to everyone at first, but I absolutely love it! It will be so much easier to deal with at Disney!

I love the charts! We do something similar but it's without the charts. For every good grade, my son gets money put into his "vacation jar". For every bad grade, some comes out. That's a sure incentive!

Love the haircut!

Well, with them being 9 & 7, it would be easier for them to keep track of what they have & how many marks they get. And easy for me to keep track of it all, cause lord knows I am losing my mind these days!:rotfl:

Thanks! It's so much easier to deal with now, especially with Shelby.

I like your haircut, it looks very nice on you!

I also love the charts! What a great idea! I hate that I can use our trip to disney as leverage anymore. I loved when I could say. "go to bed, or we're not going to Disney world"... "eat your food, or we're not going to disney world" .... "pick up your toys or we're not going to Disney world" :rotfl:

HAHA! I know the feeling! I will be so lost after Disney! But so far the charts seem to be working! :woohoo: So I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it continues!

Well, I was having a VERY bad day & I got tired of pulling it up all the time in a ponytail. I had said that I loved Victoria Beckham's hair & I pulled up pics of it online, printed them, & once Ben got home I told him I was going get my hair cut. Totally out of the blue! He looked at me and said "uh ok, what brought this on?" Once it was cut, oh I was so happy! I think I just needed that little bit of "Me" time!:lmao:

Today my MIL came & took the boys for the afternoon (they got out of school at 12:15 today thanks to teacher planning). to spend time with them & reward them for such great grades on their report card. Koby comes home & tells me that his Grandma & Aunt Lissa took them to Chuck E Cheese. He said a 4 yr old little girl lost all her tokens behind one of the games she was playing. Her tickets fell on the floor. He helped her pick up the tickets & asked her how many tokens she had left. She tells Koby 15. What does Koby do? Gives the little girl 15 of his own tokens. :lovestruc I love that son of mine. He makes me so proud! It's those moments when you think to yourself, "I did something right with that kid."

Well after Koby's day of total unselfishness & just being a sweetheart to a random kid, I figured he earned Disney money. So I made & printed these out to put in the Disney jar, that way come time, I will know exactly how much I owe him. If you want to use this, feel free!

I LOVE your chart. What a great idea to keep the kids excited (and well behaved for a few extra weeks). It reminds me of how kids are always on their best behavior in December while Santa is watching.

Leo is at Hollywood and Vine. It's at HS. That might be a good character meal for Shelby.

Thanks! I'm pretty pleased with it. We'll say, "Oh, now you get a mark (as a warning) and they straighten up real fast!

We are doing Play & Dine for the Character Breakfast. We are going on Koby's 10th birthday because he loves Rock n Roller Coaster & Tower of Terror. We can only afford 1 Character Breakfast & I said I would love to do Play & Dine. Koby said "Mommy, it's Shelby's 1st trip to Disney, for my birthday I want her to see her Leo".

That is a great idea!!! I may steal that for later. Davy is too young as of yet, but Aleks isn't! And she knows she will eventually be going back too. Maybe even in Nov if we can finagle the finances a wee bit. (Paying for her flight to her mom's house at Christmas is a killer on the spending budget. ouch! but I think I have enough saved right now..... but there is a lot of time in between!)

I'm thinking of the Happy Birthday Disney hat with a card from Mickey along with "extra" spending money he knows nothing about. When I booked Play & Dine they already said that they were putting down a "special" surprise for him when I told him why he wanted that on his birthday!

WS restaurants: the Yorkshire Fish and Chips is great in GB if you like fish and chips. Great size for the money too. Sunshine Season up in the Land Pavillion gets great reviews too. Are you looking for other places besides EP? It has been so long since we have been there too so I am just going off my old memories and what others have said.

Cute hair cut! I cut mine awhile back but I am still considering going shorter yet. We are taking it in steps so I can find the right length. :thumbsup2

Aw, what a sweet thing for Kolby to do!! So are those bonus dollars on top of their chart money?

So I get a phone call today around 3 pm from the school. The counselor says "I have Koby in my office. He said he was going to kill himself this weekend. I need to know if I can put him on the bus." WOW. Uh yeah, put him on the bus!!!! She calls me back & apologizes for being so blunt, but she wanted to make sure I wanted him on the bus, so he wouldn't miss it. We had a 45 minute talk on the phone. Koby made the comment to some of his friends that they would not see him on Monday. They immediately ran & told his teacher. She immediately called the counselor. The counselor had to do an evaluation on him to see how serious he was. She asked him why he wanted to kill himself & he said that he is having a bad week & he got hurt alot this week (running & kicked the wall, stuff like that). She asked him about his family & he said "Oh my brother & my sister would be so sad" and started crying. She asked him on a scale of 1 to 10 how serious he was. He said 5. She asked him what were the chances of him doing it & he said 50%. She said that alarmed her. She read me everything from the paperwork of what was said & his replies. She asked him how he was going to do it & he said he didn't think about that. She said he is low risk, but the 50% & the 5 still alarmed her. She asked him how long he had been thinking about this & he said since Sunday, then he changed his mind & said since yesterday. So apparently it's pretty recent. His teacher called me a few minutes ago to check on him. She said there is no way she could sleep this weekend until she called me to check on him. After about 10 minutes of her bragging on him to me about what a great student he is, how smart he is, how sweet he is, how polite he is & how much she just adores him, she asked me what she could do to help him in class. She wanted to know if there was a bully or something going on. Koby said no. He said that over & over to the counselor too. When I asked him he said no bully, just a bad week.

Needless to say, Koby will be home with me all weekend & is not leaving my sight. I am so scared. Just please keep him & us in your prayers this weekend. We are getting him a journal to write in when he has those bad days.

I have gotten behind on my PTRs/TRs lately, but I'm getting caught up now! It sounds like you've had a rough couple of weeks! I wish your trip was sooner, because it sounds like you could use a vacation!

I used that same birthday kit for DD2's first birthday. I loved it! The high chair decoration was the best part, imo. I also ordered the inflatable cupcake, and I think it's a good investment. It has a reversible banner on it that says "Happy 1st Birthday" on one side and just "Happy Birthday" on the other. We sat it outside for her 1st and 2nd birthdays so people could find the house easily. We can use it for all the birthdays from here on out!

If you don't see any other scary symptoms in Koby, I bet he was just mimicking something he's seen on television or heard other kids talk about. I think you're doing the right thing, though, by showing him that it's something to take very seriously. It would worry me to death to hear that my girls said something like that! Big hugs to you and Koby!:grouphug:

Well, the weekend past. He pretty much did what he wanted, within reason. We talked long & hard about how serious those words were & how final that decision was. I explained to him what happened to me when my dad did it & how it affected me & how if he did it, how it would affect everyone around him that loves him. Once I mentioned that Shelby would never get to know him as her big brother, he started crying & said "Mama, I am NOT doing that." But with the family history on both sides of suicide & depression, I am still getting it checked into. I'm just waiting to hear from our insurance on if he needs a referral from his Pediatrician & stuff like that. And you know insurance companies, they take their sweet time. Koby went back to school Monday, much to his teacher & counselor's delight & he got called back in the counselor's office to see how his weekend went. He told her that he had a great weekend, that he got to play with his friends outside all day Saturday & most of the day Sunday. He told her that Sunday night, Ben did everything possible to get Wrestlemania & since we were not able to get it on the tv, that daddy ordered it on the computer, so we all sat around the desktop & laptop watching it. He told her that he is feeling much better & that this was the best weekend he ever had. Koby had to sign a contract saying that he would not harm himself & if he felt that way again, he had to talk to me or Ben or his counselor on why he is feeling that way.

I am mentially & emotionally drained. Even though he had a great weekend, I was walking on eggshells & watching his every move to make sure he was safe. Thank you all so much for all the prayers, support & kind words. This is far from being over, just the beginning. I am just hoping we can get this caught soon & if he needs meds for anything, hopefully they will work & he will be as ok as he can possibly be.
