I just recently got what I consider to be pretty good airfare from Chicago to Orlando......
In Oct DD and I are traveling for $125.00 RT
and in Dec for Discon 2002 DS and I are traveling for $175.00 RT
I thought these were good prices and wanted to share...

Awesome fares...particularly the $125!
I will have to keep an eye out, as we have a trip coming up in Jan. 2003 that we don't have tickets for yet (not to mention Feb., March., etc.). I prefer to fly ATA anyway...I love their new 757s.

Barb,
I've never flown ATA and am happy to hear posative feedback. I've seen plenty of negative, but I tend to try tfor myself and make up my own mind.
LOL - I also need to watch for airfare for March - 7 day Western - no airfare booked yet...

Glad to hear you got such great fares! I always seem to go with them beacause of the low airfares. We flew the beginning of May for $135 rt taxes included, and this past 4th of July for $175. I have stopped doing so much shoppinig around. Just make sure you check there website because they change flight times often. I have 2 more trips planned and the flight times for Dec. have changed already. Laurie :D

Another item to consider, when booking with ATA make sure you check their website. The website always seems to have better prices that you will be quoted if you use Expedia or call their toll free number directly. For example I bought tickets a couple months back for our last trip (earlier this month) we paid 135 PP rounn trip with all taxes through ATA's website. I called their toll free number when I was doing my research just to check and they quoted me almost 100 more Per person for the same flights etc I was looking at on the internet at the same time of the call.

Hey Sgt!
I know what you mean - I checked that $125.00 price in Oct and at the 800# they quoted me $135.00 not a big difference - but $10. is $10.

Glad to reassure you, Trekker!
The only difference we used to notice between ATA and our other usual carriers (American/United) was the lack of a meal. Now that food has been discontinued on most flights anyway, there seems to be no difference at all.
I have heard from people who have had bad experiences with ATA (primarily delays), but we've only been delayed twice, and once was not their fault...Chicago was in the middle of a major snowstorm that had already closed O'Hare. Unbelievable, Midway remained open and we did eventually make it in after having to abort our landing once because a small plane had spun out on the runway ahead of us (thankfully, everyone was fine). The other time was our last trip, when they spent 45 minutes trying to get the luggage compartment door closed! They eventually got that straightened out and we were on our way. The only other caution with them is that they sometimes take a really long time to get the luggage out on the carousels. But for the price, it's well worth it!
