View Full Version : Please tell me everything about the resort BBQs

Since we go for approx. 2 weeks each July, we normally always do Dining Plan, as we greatly enjoy TS meals as a way to cool off and rest. We always eat breakfast in our 1 bed villa each morning, except for a few character breakfasts here and there. This year, I'm thinking of trying something new as we are at 15 days, with last 5 days in a studio, so no full kitchen. DH added DP, but I'm thinking I want to try BBQs as we have 5 non-park days, so we'll be enjoying Stormalong Bay, pool hopping, Boardwalk, Community Hall, etc.
We have never looked at the BBQs for guests, so I have a few questions:
1. Are they clean?
2. Where are they usually located?
3. What supplies do we need - tools, charcoal, cleaning tools, etc.
4. How many at each resort?
Since we only have a bar fridge, we can't really be storing meat in there, so I though we could go to grocery store, pick up our meat, and then come back to BBQ.
Any info and tips you can give us would be greatly appreciated! Tiger :)

We thought we would bbq at BLT, but it was just too cold to enjoy it when we stayed 2 weeks ago.
At BCV the grilling area is by the canal, past the hot tub that's at the villa pool. It's in a nice area, and we have it in our minds that we're going to try grilling there when we have our BCV 4th of July stay this year!!!

We've BBQed before at SSR. You need Charcoal(resort stores sell matchlight-no need for lighter fluid), our community hall has utensils you can sign out. The grills at SSR could have used a scrapping, however if you get some foil, you should be all set. We will be BBQing in March. If it is too cold we bbq and take it back to the room. I usually do more than one meat product and use them in salads the next day or two.

used grill at kidani this past june, grills are by tennis courts, was very hot so brought evrything to grills in car, you will need to supply own charcoal and food, utensils were at community room (cleaned before returned). when we used them they were never used by the looks of them. also was gazebo and picnic tables there but ate back at room, mmmmm rib eye and aspragus
