My man starts his training to be a flight attendant in two weeks here in Orlando. As his "signifigant other" I get to fly for free! Just wondering if anyone was a FA or had a partner that was one. Is it as "glamorous" as we hope it will be (i.e. getting to take mini-weekend vacations away) or does it get old quick? :woohoo:

My ex was a flight attendant. Glamorous?? No, not really. All of the travel is space available so it can be very hard to get on flights as all paying customers must be accommodated before non-revs. We did take a few nice trips however. As long as you're flexible it can work out great!

We are not, but through the course of my previous position, I had a young man who was. He and his partner took the BEST vacations! LOL. They went to places in the former eastern bloc, and the like.
I honestly don't think it's glamorous at all. Travelers are pretty difficult people to deal with anymore. Loads of "reasons" why.
The stuff that I see attendants have to put up with makes my blood run cold!

I think you'll have a ball. I did. The only problem is you have to fly stand-by, but you will learn quickly when the best time is to travel. Have fun and see the world!
