My DH is a huge Chicago Bears fan. He has been one forever through good years and very bad years. I am hoping for a good year so I can go to Chicago and see them play and take DD to the American Girl store up there. ;) PS We'd like to meet with Dan and Marie too. You know those people from IL have some of the greatest DIS Meets!!

Well...I have to say a BOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO about this.....because our university got beaten out of the running...It was down to 4 and I believe it was between us and Bourbonais......and guess who won.

But I'm very happy that they are in Illinois and that they are not that far from Chicago....so I guess the best place won!!!! Congrats and enjoy!!!!

Fireplug,

How is the traffic in town? My boys want me to take them next week to watch a practice. I can't decide if I want to deal with a lot of traffic jams.

With due respect, it is an absolute joke that the Bears ended up in Bourbannais. Illinois dirty politics strikes again.

Are you planning to pop in and watch them??? Gee can you even do that?

If so..... how are we looking???

Some of my best childhood memories are of chasing Vikings players around at training camp in Mankato, MN.

Back then the only people looking for autographs were kids and there were probably only a couple dozen of us!

I still treasure the pictures taken of me with Fran Tarkenton and a couple of the "Purple People Eaters"!

Katie, I'm glad for your sake that you don't have tickets for the opener on 9/8 when the Bears lose to the Vikings!

We are looking forward to it!

We have Card/Cub tickets for this weekend..looking for the sweep from Chicago!!!!!!!!

Wow! I'd love to spend the weekend in Wrigley with you!

And, even though I have to hope you're unhappy on Sept 8, I'll be on your side hoping the Bears crush the packers when you're at that game!

My brother will be right down.....he's a huge Bears Fan!!!

I danced with some of the Broncos when they (long time ago) held their summer camps in Ft Collins, CO. Bubba Smith and Lyle Alzedo to name drop!;)

The Bears will be playing in my hometown come fall! Do you think I'll be at any games? NOPE! ;) The last time I watched the Bears play was the Superbowl in January 1986...on TV - and I lived in Chicago then!

My DH and son are going to one game, but the games are expensive.

We have never been to a NFL game before this. We figured this was a once in a lifetime chance..with the Bears in our backyard. MY husband works at U of I..so parking should be okaytoo..

We paid dearly for our tickets..but what the hell..you only live once right!

and by the way..the Cubs are at Busch..not as friendly as Wrigley..but the Cub fan turnout..usually is about 50 percent!

We are doing our share..me and DD cubfans..DH,DS-card fans!

Katie, Cubbie and Card fans in the same house?!?! That must put some strain on a relationship! Busch Stadium is a fun place to watch a game too, but nothing beats Wrigley. And, just about EVERYTHING beats our Metrodome!

Trekker, I'll be nice just in case our paths ever cross in Sun Prairie when we're visiting my FIL/MIL!

Congratulations!!! Wish I could see the Fella's playing close to home.. Do you think they might stop by St. Mary's for a grin?

Now only if Steve Young would stop by Hollister for a bite to eat..

Just got back into town. we went to Iowa for a wedding. So I will fill all the bears fans in on details as I learn them. BUT according to the paper traffic isn't too bad yet.

To whoever it was that asked if you could just "pop" in...when they were in Platteville that's how you could do it so I would assume you could in Bourbonnaise. You just go, find a place to park (they didn't charge in Platteville) and then stake a place in the grass to sit and watch....

I took my dad to see them for his 50th birthday....he loved it and I was happy cause I got to get Kevin Butler's autograph..... and they were scrimmaging against the New England Patriots the day we went...was pretty cool actually!!!!! That was 6 years ago!
