I have an ant problem in my house. I saw a message on the board suggesting to put cinnamon where you think they are coming in. Well, I want to thank that person. It seemed to work in my kitchen.
Here's my problem, my daughter found one in her room today. It was huge & had two stripes around it's butt. Does anyone know what kind of ant this was? I'm a little concerned.

I could be wrong, but it sounds like a carpenter ant. We had a huge problem with them. They were everywhere in our house. I tried all the home remedies to no avail, and last yeart resorted to hiring an exterminator. It took 2 seasons of spraying (monthly April-Sept.) and one interior spraying to get rid of them. Good luck.

I don't know what kind of ants you have, so I don't know if this will work for you, but we had a bad ant problem last summer, and we got those things you plug into the wall. They work great!! No more ants for us, and we had a lot of them every summer. Good luck!!

Carpenter ants do not typically have stripes, though the QUEEN carpenter ant does. The queen also has wings. Was the ant you saw winged?
Bugspray.com is very informative in how to control these pests.

Not that I saw. It didn't try to fly away.
