I've read that at counter services places there will be a square with a D or DP designation to alert you what is allowed as a 'CS credit'. And then I've seen threads with lists/photos of what's available as a 'snack credit'. Is there a way to tell if a certain snack is on the DP before you purchase it?

Yes. Go by the symbol, or ask. "Confirmed" snacks on the thread on this forum can change at any time. The only official DDP-covered items are the ones that are marked; note that only single-serve products are considered for snack credits.

Generally they are the single serve under $4 in cost.

Katiee - The symbol...meaning they'll have a squared D or DP on the menu?

It is a square w/ DP. Lot's of good choices. The ones Disney list isn't even the begining. Some of the choices you could even use as a breakfast.

When we were there in September... we asked the cm's at the registers and they told us what to get or where to get the cs meals .
For instance we ate breakfast at the food court....we had the platters usually and instead of getting a juice and a water (because we had our refillable mugs) the cm told us to get a bagel or toast ...or anything in the back area of the food court...
The snacks were spelt out for us by looking for the DP logos...but a hot fudge sundae sure was good one very very hot night....

Also in the parks you can see the logo's at most of the places.

have fun

That is in general. At many places they will have signs on the shelves or menus with the dining plan logo. At some places they will not. If there is no sign, and you are interested in an item that is a single serving and under about $4, you'll need to ask a cast member if the item can be purchased with a snack credit. Not all items counted as snacks everywhere will be marked.

Thanks everyone! I'm relieved there will be a general way to tell what's included and what's not.
