Hi! We are DVC members staying 8 nights in April and are considering doing the QSDP d/t the regular DP being so costly during our stay!:scared1: We are wondering though, if there will be enough variety to do this for 8 days? I don't want to eat a burger and fries or pizza for this long! We will have a microwave and fridge in room and plan to bring stuff for bkfst, just wondering how bad it will be eating CS for lunch and dinner?? Would love some input! Thanks in advance!:wizard:

We did in Oct, we had no problem finding unique things other than hamburgers. ie. Cosmic Ray's Ribs Combo, Cola Harbor House shrimp & fish, QS Mexico in Epcot, taco salad @ Peco's Bill, the food court at Pop was great too...there really is a good variety if you check out the menus first on www.allears.net. I have two QSDP reviews listed in my signature...if you combine them, they equal 7 days :) You'll see we never had a burger (unless you count my brother's burger who wasn't on the plan!) or pizza!

Lots of variety!

I made it a point during my trip to not eat one burger on the QSDP, just to see if it could be done. That was for 7 days.

My daughter though loved the burgers and had them several times. She said they were very good.

A "hidden gem" for counter service is Wolfgang Puck Express @ DTD. I think it has edged out Earl of Sandwich for me!! The portions are definately big enough to share. Also nice CS options were the create your own pasta and create your own omelette at the foodcourt at POR.

Oh yeah, I forgot about WPE @ DTD, awesome! We ate there several times in Oct.

We are doing the QSDP for 9 nights this summer and I don't plan on having burgers (Veggie) or pizzas once. I'm vegetarian and even for me there are tons of options everywhere.

Well this should settle it for you: we did QSDP for 16 days last year and I didn't eat a single burger, hot dog or any other typical fast food type meal. Loads of salads, chicken, fish .... Arm yourself with info on the menus before you go. I personally don't walk around with printed menus, but I do have a list of one or two places for each park in case I dont feel like thinking. I must add though that because we take longer trips, we do buy a few TS meals OOP each week, just so that DD can get her character meals, etc. On 8 days, I would be quite happy with QSDP exclusively but you might want to make one nice ADR if you really feel you would be missing something.

I have been looking at QS menus because even though we will be doing the reg. dining plan, I don't want burgers for every quick service meal. Some places to consider(some already mentioned).

Sunshine Seasons at Epcot

Many of the World Showcase CS.. in fact I think the only one that is mostly burgers is the American one.

Columbia Harbor House.

Captn Cooks at the Poly

The Pepper Market at Coronado Springs

In fact, check out the menus for all the resort food courts. Alot of them have some great options.

And DTD!!

Wolfgang Puck Express and Earl of Sandwich as someone has already mentioned are great choices.

I think you could easily get away without eating a burger the whole time if you plan ahead.
The only real drag is the CS at the Studios:sick:

And I am not too familiar with the ones at AK but we did try the Yak and Yeti CS and enjoyed it.

Good Luck!

Yes!! We did it for 8 days last May, and had more than enough food!! We ate great!! Wolfgang's (bith locations), San Angel(Epcot), Flametree, Cosmic Ray's, and Pop were our faves!! We would use a snack credit for a quick breakfast and you get your refillable mugs with another drink each meal. It was insane the amount of food we were able to get!! Doing it again in a few months!! yay!!

Another here to say the QSDP would be fine for your trip. We were there for 7 nights/8 days in May and were not sick of anything by the end of the week!

If you look through the menus you will see that there are a lot of CS restaurants with surprising offers. I was pleased with this dining plan!

If you have an iPod Touch or an iPhone, there is a WDW Dining App that you can purchase that has menus for quick service restaurants along with table service. I got this on my iPod Touch before we went in the fall and it was very handy at looking at the menus so we could choose where we wanted to eat. It also tells you which restaurants are on the Disney Dining Plan.

We just got back this weekend from an 8-day trip on the QSDP. DS and DD did have some burgers, pizza, chicken tenders, but that was by choice. I did not (well, I did have a slice of the pizza). We had great variety - BBQ ribs, chicken salads, yummy sandwiches, roasted chicken, fried shrimp, salmon, spaghetti and meatballs, ham and cheese croissants...
You will have no problem, just do a little research before you go.

Oh, and DHS is a challenge, but the sandwiches at Starring Rolls Cafe are really good. You get chips or a piece of fruit, a drink, and one of their enormous, delicious bakery goodies.
