Hi :wave2: Welcome to my first PTR!
The cast is very simple.
Me - Christine, age 16
http://i49.tinypic.com/sesww8.jpg
That's not the best picture, but I needed one and I took that on my phone about 5 minutes ago
And my mom, Nancy. She hates getting her picture taken so almost every picture of her comes out like this
http://i49.tinypic.com/2r798uf.jpg
:rotfl:
We live in Rhode Island with our 3 cats and our dog :) My parents got divorced when I was about 8, but they're still really good friends. I live with my mom but my dad lives about 5 minutes down the road so I see him all the time and I stay at his house whenever my mom is out of town.
We're a Red Sox obsessed family, so don't be surprised if you see me wearing Sox shirts and my Sox hat in a lot of my pictures :thumbsup2
I've been told that I'm not the typical teenager. Unlike most teenage girls I know, I love hanging out with my parents! My dad and I like the same music and we go to concerts all the time and he's teaching me how to play the drums and the guitar. My mom and I have a lot of the same interests too. Including Disney :) This will be our 7th mother daughter trip. My 8th trip total. My first one was with my mom and dad when I was 6 and then my mom took me on a surprise trip when I was 9. The next time we went, I was 11 and we've gone every year since!
With the exception of my first trip, we've always gone during April or February, because that's when my school vacations are. Of course I have the December vacation too but I can't convince my mom to go for Christmas :sad2:
We prefer to go during my Feb vacation, because the crowds are smaller and the temperature is better. Neither of us do well in the heat, because we've lived in RI forever and we're used to cooler weather. I'm terrible in the heat. I get really bad headaches and I get grumpy. It's usually in the 60's in Orlando in February. We like that :thumbsup2
This year, we had originally planned for April. My mom was supposed to have a big week of meetings at work. Or something like that...I don't ask questions about her job. Too complicated  Anyway, that was supposed to be during the week of my February break. So we thought we would be going in April. Then we would've been celebrating both of our birthdays. Hers is one day before mine. Apparently I was a birthday present ::yes:: But then she found out that her big work week was tentatively moved to April and there was a possibility that it would get moved to the week of my vacation. So about a week ago, we went ahead and booked for February :woohoo: We weren't sure if we could get flights this late, especially the week of vacation but we did it!
We're leaving around 8 AM on Tuesday, February 16th, and coming back on Monday, February 22nd around 9 PM. I'll miss one day of school, but that's not a big deal. The first day back from vacation is pretty slow anyway.
Because of a 40% off deluxe resort pin code, we get to stay at the Wilderness Lodge again :yay: A few years ago, we were supposed to stay at POR, but they overbooked and upgraded us to WL, no additonal cost. We got hooked. We've stayed there every year since
I apologize for the long introduction. I have a tendancy to ramble
I'll be back later for more planning fun! :)

Hi! Coming over from MeMom's thread!
Your mom's picture looks a lot like my mom's. :rotfl: She's gotten better and will get in pictures if we ask her nicely, but that's about it.
Red Sox obsessed = :thumbsup2
You're arriving on our last full day and my sister's 17th birthday so our trips overlap a little tiny bit. I'm jealous of you staying at WL, that is my dream resort.
Can't wait to read more!

Hi! I popped over from MeMom's report too! My mom was never one to like getting her picture taken either so I have a bunch that look like that!
We are going in April and staying at the WL. If you had kept your April dates we might have overlapped. My PTR is in my siggie if you have a chance to pop on over! I would love a Feb. trip but I am a teacher so I'm stuck with the school schedule.:sad2:
Looking forward to more!:goodvibes

Yup, every time the camera comes out my mom puts a book or something over her face. If she doesn't have a book she just uses her hand
Yay! Another Red Sox fan! :yay:
Oh cool! Maybe we'll run into eachother!

I was going through vacation pictures that I've taken and almost all of them look like that! Most of the pictures where you can see her face are ones that she didn't know I was taking :rotfl:
We're stuck with the school schedule too. I'm a junior so I really can't miss more than a day or two.
I'll head over to your PTR now!

Well, Yankees fans are welcome here too :)

Hi Jill! I'm not a huge fan of getting my picture taken either. I prefer to be behind the camera. But I'm not as bad as my mom or MeMom

Great start to your first PTR! I'm in NH - a transplant from Illinois, where these two weeks off in Feb. & April are unheard of! :lmao: I'm sorry you're missing your birthdays (my kids and husband have birthdays one day apart in April, too!) but you'll hit my birthday in Feb.!
Can't wait to hear more plans! :goodvibes

Welcome!!
Yes, people who aren't from New England get very confused when I start talking about Feb and April vacations
We were looking forward to celebrating our birthdays, but we'd rather go earlier than have to wait another two months so it's okay :thumbsup2

Maybe you guys could manage to cross paths long enough for a picture.

Okay, I am feeling better about the picture thing now. It seems we have a club forming here. ;)
On one occasion, I took a couple of sick days and used them for a Disney trip for Jill's birthday. Other than that, I've worked within the school calendar, too.

Show me those pictures. I don't believe it!
On second thought, don't show me those pictures. :upsidedow

Hi MeMom! Welcome!
I think I'll use purple for this PTR :)
I hope everyone had a good 3 day weekend! Mine got turned into a 4 day weekend! It's exam week at school and we only have to go in if we have an exam scheduled. My first one is at 9 AM tomorrow. But I'll be doing a lot of studying today so it's not too fun  But I have 4 exams which makes it an 8 hour school week for me :thumbsup2
Now for some trip planning! I booked our ADR's right after we booked the trip. My mom lets me handle the planning after the trip is booked :)
We're on the dining plan for 7 days so originally I booked 7, but I added one more a few days ago
2/16(Arrival Day!): Dinner at Liberty Tavern - 7:50
2/17: Breakfast at 1900 Park Fare - 10:00. We're not morning people  We also have dinner at Chef Mickey's at 8:50. That's the earliest I could get, but that's fine because we have the breakfast that day too.
2/18: Late lunch at 50's Prime Time Cafe at 2:15
2/19: Lunch at Coral Reef at 1:50
2/20: Breakfast at Tusker House at 9:40. We also have dinner at Rainforest Cafe at 5:30. That's the one I added a few days ago. It's one of my mom's favorites and we'll already be at AK that day so we added it
2/21: Lunch at Crystal Palace at 11:35
We don't have anything the last day because we want as much park time as possible and we have to be back at WL around 3 to get picked up by the ME.
We'll probably have breakfast at WCC on the 18th because lunch is so late. That means we have two out of pocket meals, Rainforest Cafe and WCC. My mom's paying for Rainforest Cafe and I'm paying for WCC :)
And now I need to study. I hate exams :sad2: But I love the short school week ::yes::

Lots of good eats! I'm so excited for Disney food.
We might be in MK on your first night when you're at LTT -- it's our last night and my sister's birthday, so that's probably where we'll end up. Maybe we can do what MeMom said and cross paths long enough for a picture -- I love DIS meets (even though I have only had one :rotfl: )
Prime Time Cafe...I love the decor and the whole atmosphere. My dad had to stand in the corner once while everyone else shook their fingers at him and said, "shame, shame, shame!" It is such a fun place!
Good luck on your exams!

We've done most of them before too. 1900 and Coral Reef are new for us :thumbsup2 We've eaten lunch at Crystal Palace every trip. It's become a tradition :)
Thank you! The really hard ones(Chemistry and Economics :scared1:) aren't until Friday, so I have more time to study for those.

Disney food is the best ::yes::
I'd love to do that! It would be my first DIS meet! We'll be in MK most of the day, assuming we don't have any delays. We land in Orlando at 10:55 AM and we're planning on heading to MK right after we check in at WL.
Prime Time Cafe is awesome! My mom's gotten in trouble both times we've eaten there. The first time was for having her elbows on the table and the second time was for not eating her vegetables :lmao:
Thank you!

I'M DONE WITH EXAMS!!!party:
I took my last one yesterday afternoon. I was like this after :faint:
But now I'm all done! So of course I went right back to trip planning today ::yes::
I switched two of our ADR's. I realized that evening EMH at AK is on the 17th, and I really want to go because I've heard awesome things about AK at night! So I switched Chef Mickey's and Rainforest Cafe. Now we're eating at Rainforest Cafe at 5:45 on the 17th and then we can go enjoy nighttime AK for the first time :cool1:
I hope everyone's having a good weekend! :goodvibes

Yay for being done with exams!!! Also, AK at night is amazing. It's like a whole different park. I don't know if you do the thrill rides or not, but EE at night is the best. Oh, and I thought of you today; I was going with my dad to check out a Jeep down in I think Somerset (somewhere in southern MA, near the Rhode Island border), and I was like, "hey, Christine lives in Rhode Island." There are several DISers I think of whenever I hear a certain state.
But wasn't it a great one?!?!?

I was glancing through the North American Broadway schedule this weekend, and I think I remember seeing Boston for Lion King. I wish we had the money to come up that way to see that and the historical sights, but no can do. :sad2:

MeMom, thanks for the heads up about Lion King -- I am so going to check that out and see if I can convince someone to go with me. Katie gave me an iTunes gift card for Christmas that downloaded 12 tracks from various musicals, and something from the Lion King was one of them -- it came up on my iPod earlier and I was thinking of how much I'd love to see it!
I love EE! It's one of my favorites! I'm so excited to go on it at night!!!

You're going to love it at night. ::yes:: It's open till 8 or 9 on the day we arrive, so I am hoping to get in a few rides on it. And Dinosaur, even though it makes me cry a little. :rotfl2: It scares me to death but I love it.
I can't believe you were there, too! That's so strange!
Do you want me to PM you my cell sometime before I go so we can call or text and see where the other is that night? I'm 99.9% certain that we'll end up at MK, because that's where we usually do, and where my sister will probably choose for her birthday.

Sure! That's a good idea because I'm not sure exactly what time we'll be getting to MK. It all depends on the ME and whether or not we have any flight delays.
We always end up at MK on our last night too ::yes::

No school today! It's one of those random teacher development days. Why it's on a Wednesday, I don't know. I think it should've been a Monday or a Friday, but I'll take a day off any time :thumbsup2
Our countdown is now at 20 days!!! :dance3: My ticker says 19 but somehow that ended up a day off :confused3 Oh well. I'll be very excited tomorrow when we actually get into the teens!
We got a call from AAA yesterday saying our Magical Express package came in :cool1: That makes the trip feel very real! My mom's going to pick it up this afternoon.
In honor of the 20 day mark, I'm gonna share an amusing story from a past trip. Well it wasn't amusing at the time  But it's hilarious now
In April of 2007 we had a big wind and rain storm that temporarily shut down a few airports. I'm not sure if it hit her area or not but Megablocks might know what I'm talking about. Anyway, it was a few days before we were supposed to be flying to Disney. Our airport got shut down and opened again the day before. We thought we'd be able to get out on time, but the night before we got a call saying our flight would be delayed a couple hours. Not a big deal, right? Wrong! Because we found out that even though we were leaving only 2 hours later, we'd be getting to Orlando about 6 hours later
Originally we had one stop in DC and we were supposed to be in Orlando at 10 AM. But when our flight got changed, instead of stopping in DC, we were stopping in Chicago! Now if you've ever looked at a US map, you'll know that if you're trying to get from Rhode Island to Florida, Chicago is in the wrong direction :lmao: Well that happened because we were flying on Southwest and Chicago is their main hub. Okay, as long as we were getting to Orlando that day we'd deal with it.
So we got to the airport, went through security, and got on the plane. Everything seemed to be fine. We pulled out onto the runway and we were next in line to take off. And then...the pilot said "We're having a mechanical problem, so we're going back to the gate :scared1: Then everyone got off the plane and got in line to get rebooked. They had ONE person working the desk for the 200 people on that plane :sad2: They took care of the first class people first and there was this one guy that kept going back up to the desk. Everyone else in the line was ready to start throwing luggage at him :headache: Well, TWO HOURS later we finally got up to the desk. They said "okay we have a plane leaving for Chicago in five minutes. Go get on that one" Alright, that's fine. So we really did make it out of Providence :rotfl:
We landed in Chicago and eventually we made it to Orlando at 7:30. 10 hours late :sad2: We got on the ME and made it to POR. Since we already had a park ticket for that day, we were hoping we could head to MK for a little bit to get in some Disney magic after our loooong day. Well here comes the next surprise
We went to check in and the CM says "We have a special opportunity for you." My mom and I were both thinking "We've had enough opportunities today to last a lifetime" :rotfl: The CM told us that they had overbooked and they would upgrade us to WL for no additonal cost. A deluxe hotel for the price of a moderate? :worship: They said they had a private van to take us to WL. Well this private van turned out to be driven by the most directionally challenged person I've ever met. She was very nice, but she had no idea where we were going. I think she was an intern. We ended up at Fort Wilderness, realized that was the wrong place(Not knowing how close we were) and turned around. Somehow we ended up at DTD  Then we stopped at one of the All Stars to ask for directions. An hour after leaving POR we finally made it to WL. By the time we got to our room it was 10 PM :faint:
Then we thought of something...our luggage  We were really hoping it made it onto the plane with us. My mom called the front desk and they said it was at POR. Well at least it wasn't still sitting in Providence. Just like us, it took our luggage an hour to get to WL  We were very happy to go to sleep that night :rotfl: And after that very long first day we had an awesome trip.
It's a fun story to tell now but it wasn't very funny that day :lmao:
I hope everyone's having a good day! 3 weeks from right now I'll probably be in Epcot :cool1:

Oh my gosh, what a hassle. I'm not sure if I remember that storm specifically, but I do remember it raining for days on end, nonstop, and route 1 up here was flooded. I can't remember when exactly that was...I'm getting forgetful in my old age. :rolleyes1
It's nice being able to laugh at stuff that was bad at the time, but hilarious after the fact. I was telling someone else how last May, I got lost in Ohio trying to get coffee at a McDonalds that was supposed to be 5 minutes away. I was gone for 45 minutes when my dad texted me with, "you lost?" My grandmother was waiting for us, too, and the hotel we were staying at is about 30 minutes away from where she lives. When we got there, she asked what took us so long, and my dad said, "Meghan got a little lost trying to find coffee," and everyone just left it at that, which tells you something about me. :lmao:

I probably wouldn't remember the storm either if it hadn't interfered with my vacation
We got lost in Canada once...Me, my mom, my grandma, and my aunt go to Vermont every summer for two weeks and two summers ago we went to Canada for the day so I could have my first international experience. It didn't work out well  We were aiming for Montreal but we didn't even get close. We just kind of drove around the Canadian highways for two hours, stopped at McDonald's, and headed back to Vermont. My exotic international food for the day was McDonald's :lmao: It didn't help that all of the signs were in French  My aunt knows some French but they were also doing highway construction so it was a very confusing day :rotfl:
I'm now in the teens :dance3: I was doing some homework tonight around 8:30 and it was nice to know that 3 weeks from that moment, instead of factoring polynomials for my Algebra II class, I'd be watching Fantasmic :cloud9: At least I think that's the plan. It's never set in stone, but the point is, I'll be in Disney instead of doing math homework :thumbsup2
We picked up our Magical Express stuff from AAA yesterday  And I'm happy to report that they spelled my name right on everything  Last year the whole time I was in Disney my name was "Christina" My last name starts with an A so a ton of people think my name is Christina, but it had never happened in Disney before. It was on my room key and everything. It was pretty funny :rotfl: I think the AAA guy that booked the trip last year spelled it wrong, but the woman that booked our trip this year is also named Christine so I knew she wouldn't screw it up ::yes::
Now I need to get to bed. I'm exhausted because my silly dog kept making weird noises in her sleep last night and waking us up :rotfl: At one point she actually sounded like a cow. No joke. She seriously made a really loud cow noise. It was almost a moo. It was SO weird. She snores a lot but she's never done that before. I couldn't stop laughing for a full 3 minutes :rotfl2:
Good night everyone! Have a good friday!

I haven't updated this in a week :scared1: But I have an excuse. I've been  all week. I went to the doctor and they said it's a virus and I can't really do anything except wait for it to go away. I'm glad this isn't happening while I'm in Disney!
This is a small update. I don't have much to report since I've been in bed all week. I think I'm getting better so hopefully I can make it back to school tomorrow.
For some happy news, I'm under two weeks now! I'll be in single digits on Sunday :yay:
According to my loose schedule, 2 weeks from right now I'll be waiting for the 8:30 Fantasmic to start

I know I wrote to you already on Katie's and my PTR, but we are supposed to get 10-15" of snow on Wednesday. :faint: It is starting after we leave, though. This is brand-new, I think -- are you guys getting anything? I hope you can get a snow day!

That blizzard was a failure :rotfl:
I'm sorry for the lack of updates! I had a very busy week full of make-up work after being sick all of last week. But now I'm on vacation :cool1: I leave in FOUR DAYS!!!! :dance3:
Megablocks is there now and having a great time!
Now I'll post a loose schedule. We're not planning it all out but based on ADR's, this is a general idea of what we'll be doing :goodvibes
Tuesday, Feb 16: 7:40 flight! We land in Orlando at 10:55! After we check in at WL, we'll be heading to Magic Kingdom for the rest of the day. We're having dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern  Depending on her schedule, we might be meeting up with Megablocks and her family!
Wednesday, Feb 17: Breakfast at 1900 Park Fare. We're planning on getting there early so we can walk around the Grand Floridian for a little bit. After that I think we'll be going to Epcot. Later in the afternoon we'll go to Animal Kingdom for evening EMH! We have an ADR at Rainforest Cafe but we might cancel that, depending on how full we are after breakfast. We'll definitely be meeting up with Megablocks this night for a ride on Everest
Thursday, Feb 18: I think we'll be spending the whole day at DHS. We have a lunch reservation at 50's Prime Time Cafe! We'll definitely see Fantasmic this night! We try to see it towards the beginning of the trip just in case we have any problems! A couple years ago we tried to see it on our last night but it took us too long to get there and we ended up in the very back standing area. We couldn't see anything :sad2:
Friday, Feb 19: I'm not sure what we'll be doing this day but I know we'll be in Epcot at least part of the day. We have a lunch reservation at Coral Reef!
Saturday, Feb 20: We'll be at AK in the morning for breakfast at Tusker House! I'm VERY excited about this meal. It was sooo good last year!!! I'm not sure about the rest of the day, but we have a late dinner(8:50) at Chef Mickey's :)
Sunday, Feb 21: We have lunch at Crystal Palace! My favorite restaurant :cloud9: This day is pretty much open besides that. We'll probably do some stuff that we haven't been able to do yet.
Monday, Feb 22: Last day :sad1: We'll be in MK until we have to go back to meet the ME at 3:00.
Tomorrow we'll be doing some shopping for last minute trip stuff. Sunday I think we're going to my aunt's house. Monday we have to be up early to take the cats to the kennel :sad1: Or the "kitty motel". That's what my mom calls it to make it sound better :rotfl: Our dog is staying with my dad and he'll pick her up Monday night. They're buddies ::yes:: My dog loves hanging out with my dad and he loves it too, so we don't have to worry about her when we go away.
I need to go feed the kitties and the dog before they eat me  I'll check in again tomorrow or Sunday!
I hope everyone has a good weekend!! :yay:

Can't wait to hear about 1900 Park Fare, as Jill and I are doing this with Brooklynn this summer - a special 'big girl' time just for her. :lovestruc
I have an Animal Kingdom video. Maybe I'll watch it that evening in honor of your meet and ride!

I don't think you'll have a problem getting a good seat at this time of year. I have watched it from the far end in the standing room only section, and you certainly don't get the greatest experience.

What a great way to spend a day! Trent is on his way to Animal Kingdom right this minute. I told him I love/hate him this morning.
Sunday, Feb 21: We have lunch at Crystal Palace! My favorite restaurant :cloud9: This day is pretty much open besides that. We'll probably do some stuff that we haven't been able to do yet.
Love Crystal Palace. It is good to have a day with no plans. Just go with whatever your heart wants to do.
Monday, Feb 22: Last day :sad1: We'll be in MK until we have to go back to meet the ME at 3:00.
We won't talk about this day. :sad2:

I like knowing when my DIS friends are landing! I knew Meg was landing when I was in English on Friday :)
I'm sure Brooklynn will love her big girl time :goodvibes Are you going for breakfast or for dinner?
We got a seat last year with no problem. I think it was April when we couldn't get a seat. It's always more crowded in April than Feb.
I know all about that love/hate thing ::yes:: My cousin took his girlfriend to Disney in October and I've always wanted to go for Halloween! I keep telling my mom that when I'm out of college we have to go in October!
I've gone to Crystal Palace on every single one of my Disney trips. It was my first character meal
I try not to think about the last day until we get the note from the ME telling us what time they're picking us up :sad2:
Well when I started this post it was a few minutes before midnight...Now it's 11:59. Aaaaaaaand now....it's midnight! Which technically means I leave tomorrow :dance3:
I'm going to bed in a few minutes. We have to be up early to check in for our flight and get our boarding passes and take the kitties to the kennel. I hate doing that! Getting them into the cat carriers is really hard. Once we get one in they start meowing and the other 2 hide  I hate dropping them off at the kennel :sad1: But I know they'll be well taken care of.
When we get back I have to do some homework. Yup. Homework during February break :sad2:
I haven't packed at all yet :rolleyes1 I made my packing list 2 weeks ago, I just haven't used it  I'll do it tomorrow afternoon.
I'm a little concerned about the weather. We're supposed to get some snow late tomorrow(Monday) night. Only 1 or 2 inches which isn't much for RI. I think it's supposed to rain tuesday morning so that should get rid of any snow on the ground. My mom thinks we'll be fine but I'll be nervous until we're actually in the air
Now I need to get to bed so I can get up on time tomorrow! I'll check in again before we leave!

My family and I got to meet up with Christine and her mom at MK tonight and ride HM together! It was a lot of fun, and tomorrow we are still going to meet up at Animal Kingdom during the nighttime EMH for a ride (or two, or three) on EE. My phone was almost dead so I had it turned off for most of the evening, so I didn't get to talk to her much after that, but I know that they turned in early tonight because they had such an early and long day. I am really excited to meet up again and ride Everest!

So I've been meaning to update a little bit because Christine and I have been texting a lot, but I was slacking. We met up on Wednesday night as planned for the AK nighttime EMH, and had SO much fun! We got to ride EE, Dinosaur, and Primeval Whirl/Hurl. I'm really excited to get to that part in my TR (which I haven't even started due to picture woes), because it was a lot of fun. Christine and her mom are so nice, and we had a lot of fun!
Today is their last full day. :sad1: She texted me this morning and said that she hated waking up to find that ME envelope on the door telling them they have to leave tomorrow. Right now, she and her mom are at MK, and I think heading to Epcot afterwards. She texted me when she was walking down Main Street eating a chocolate croissant, which I think is the perfect way to start a day. :cloud9: They don't get picked up by the ME until about 3:30 tomorrow, so they'll have a little extra time to say goodbye.

I'm back!!!
We had an AMAZING vacation!!!!!!! Everything was great. It was "cold" the first few days, but since I live in RI, high 40's isn't cold for me! It was in the 60's after Friday morning, and it hit 70 yesterday! The crowds were worse than I expected but they were thinning out on Friday and it was awesome over the weekend.
I had a great time meeting up with Meghan and her family!!! It was soooo fun! Thank you for posting the updates, Meg!!!
Normally I'd be getting ready for bed now since I have school tomorrow, but at the moment I'm like this :hyper: I can never sleep right after I get home from anywhere, and I also slept for about 45 minutes on the plane, so I'll be up for a little while.
I was very, very sad when we left today :sad1: I cried when we left Magic Kingdom and then when we drove off Disney property. But, I'm happy to be home. I just hate leaving, but once I'm home I'm okay. I really hate the fact that tomorrow instead of waking up at the Wilderness Lodge and heading out for a day of fun, I'll be heading to school :sad2:
Anyway, I'm hoping to start the TR tomorrow depending on homework and stuff like that. I'll definitely start some time this week!
Good night everyone!

You get zero recovery time, huh? I think Katie gets like one day. I can't decide if I'd rather throw myself right back into the routine or have a few days off. My class was canceled today and I am back to work on Wednesday since I don't work Mondays/Tuesdays...it's going to be weird going back!

There were all sorts of wind advisories yesterday, and when I was leaving work and walking to my car, it literally felt like there was a huge hand on my back pushing me. I would definitely rather have rain instead of snow, though. It was exhausting :faint: But I made it and it's finally Friday :woohoo: Yes! The weather is disgusting! It's been raining since Tuesday morning. It snowed a little bit today. I'd actually rather have snow than rain. Nice snow. Fluffy, fun snow. Not wet, slushy snow that looks gross. I looove snow but we've had a ton of it this winter! I'm ready for spring too. Spring means baseball season! Spring training started last week and I just realized that soon I'll be watching my Sox every day again so I'm like this :hyper:
I'm sorry it's taking me so long to start the TR! I confess, I haven't even gotten my pictures off the camera yet  It was a looooong, busy school week even though I was only there for 4 days! I was extra tired all week from Disney. But did I go to be early once this week? Of course not  My thought process makes no sense sometimes :rotfl:
I've also been having problems with my laptop. Well, not the actual laptop. The charger. We've had the laptop for over 2 years, and the charger it came with died a few months ago. My mom went to Best Buy and they told her to buy a universal charger, so she did. That one worked for about 2 months and then suddenly stopped. Then we bought another one. Guess what happened. That one died a couple days ago. It only works if I'm pressing the tip into the laptop a certain way :confused3 Trying to use my laptop with one hand and holding the charger in place with my other hand wasn't working very well, especially since I had to hold it with my right hand and I'm right handed. At one point today I got it to charge on its own and I turned it on when it said it was fully charged. Well...literally 5 minutes after I turned it on it said it was only 5% charged and then it turned off  So now I'm using the desktop. I HATE this thing :headache: It's sooooo slow and it always freezes on me!!! But it's better than nothing, so I'll deal with it until we figure out what's up with my charger.
Now I'm gonna put my pictures on this computer and upload them to photobucket. I've never used photobucket so this is an experiment  I'm also putting the pictures on a CD because this computer has deleted my pictures before. I think this computer is holding a grudge against me :lmao:
Depending on how long this picture thing takes, I'll either start the TR tonight or tomorrow!

I think I finally figured out Photobucket. I've been messing with it for about two hours :rotfl: Now let's see what happens when I try to post the pictures here
Yup, Easter! I was surprised too. It's against the Yankees and it's gonna be a nationally broadcasted game so it's a big deal. I'm excited!!! It's not until 8:00 PM, so I should be back from any Easter festivities in time ::yes::
Sorry I didn't start yesterday! I ended up spending the day at my aunt and uncle's house. I thought we were going over there today instead but apparently I was wrong  But now, finally, I'm starting this TR!!!
Tuesday, February 16
Actually first a little bit from the night before...I was hoping to be in bed by 10:00, since we had to be up at 4:00. Did that happen? Of course not :rotfl: I think it was somewhere around 11:00. I had been driving my mom insane all day because I kept checking the weather. She kept saying that there was nothing we could do about it no matter how many times I checked the forecast. Good point. But then when the news was on I came into the family room and found her watching the weather
I was worried I wouldn't fall asleep that night, because I never sleep well the night before we go anywhere. But it only took me maybe 20 minutes to fall asleep, and I didn't wake up at all until my alarm went off. Little side note about my alarm clock...I tend to sleep through my alarm even though it's REALLY loud and annoying. It just keeps beeping until you turn it off. I'm a really heavy sleeper and one time I slept through it for a full half hour :rolleyes1 My mom's room is right next to mine and she has the same alarm. Sometimes I'll wake up when hers goes off, but not mine. I don't get it :lmao:
Thankfully, I woke up when my alarm went off. It's amazing how much easier it is to get out of bed when you're going to Disney, and not to school :upsidedow I figured my mom would be getting up around the same time, so I went into her room and the bed was empty. She was already in the shower. Neither of us are morning people so I was impressed
Then I nervously walked over to the window to look outside. I was afraid that I'd find inches of snow. I opened the curtain and....I was EXTREMELY relieved. There was less than one inch, and it had already stopped snowing
We got dressed, brushed our teeth, etc. My mom had a little cereal, but I wasn't hungry yet so I decided to wait until we got to the airport to eat. While I was taking the suitcases out to the car, it started snowing again :scared1: It wasn't very heavy, but I was terrified about our flight getting cancelled, especially after what happened to Megablocks. We decided we should leave a few minutes early because of the weather, so we did one last sweep through the house to make sure everything was turned off, locked the door, and got into the car. At this point it was snowing hard. Very hard. But it was really fluffy snow, and I had no problem wiping it off the car. We got to the airport around 5:30, parked the car, and headed inside. It was crowded so we took that as a good sign. We already had our boarding passes, so we checked our bags(Gotta love Southwest!) and went through security. They had to do a thorough inspection of my shoes for some reason. They had to check them again after they went through the x-ray machine. Maybe because they smell so bad :rotfl:
After our shoes were on and we made sure we had everything, we went to check the monitor. All flights, except one to Chicago, were on time :worship: Now we were feeling a little calmer. We headed over to Dunkin Donuts. I didn't feel the need to take a food picture since we weren't actually in Disney yet :rotfl: I think I had a breakfast sandwich and some hashbrowns. I think my mom had a sandwich too. Then after a quick trip to the bathroom, we went to our gate. I think it was about 6:45 or 7:00 at this point. While we were waiting to board, we saw three other planes take off so that made us feel a LOT better. We got on the plane, found seats, and waited. They had to de-ice the plane, so we were a few minutes late taking off, but I was just happy that we were actually leaving! I was so relieved once we were in the air. We had a really smooth flight. I love Southwest because they still give you free snacks and drinks! I napped a little bit, but not much. I mostly just listened to my MP3 player. About 2 and a half hours later, the pilot said that we would be beginning our descent soon. He also told us that it was 46 degrees in Orlando. My mom and I just burst out laughing when he said that :rotfl: We really didn't care about the weather. We were so relieved to be on the way. I was really happy that I didn't have any ear issues on that flight. I have a lot of inner ear problems, so flying isn't much fun for me. But on that flight they were absolutely fine. The flight home was a whole different story. My right ear still hurts :sad2:
Anyway, we landed smoothly and got off the plane faster than normal. I texted Meg and told her we landed. Then we got on the fake monorail, as Meg calls it. I always go to the end so I can sit on that little bench thing. I don't think there's ever been a trip where I haven't sat there
Finally, pictures!

We sat down for a couple minutes in the airport so I could call my dad and my grandma and let them know we landed. Then, finally, we headed to the Magical Express counter. Except they had us go to a podium next to the counter instead. I forget why.

We got on the ME bus and headed for Disney World :yay: I love the ME video :cloud9: I didn't get a picture of the WDW arch because I was filming. I'll try to get my videos on here at some point, but my video camera and digital camera are seperate so I'll do that later. I was texting Meg and our ME bus went under the Magic Kingdom sign at the same time as her bus :) Our first stop was the Poly, then the Grand Floridian, and then the Wilderness Lodge!!! I was all prepared to take a picture of the sign while we were going under it but they had taken it down. They put a tarp up there later that week. I assume they were fixing the sign or making a new one. I did get a picture of this though.

We checked in and our room was ready :cool1: We headed to our room and found our Mickey towel :)

I claimed my bed. The one near the window. I always choose that one for some reason. Then I went out onto the balcony to see our view. We had a woods view room and this is what I saw to the left

I was too excited to remember to take a picture of what I saw right in front of me :rotfl: It was a bunch of trees, and I could see a little bit of the pool through them.
Meg, this is the coat hanger I was telling you about!
http://i853.photobucket.com/albums/ab100/Tink9721/Disney%20World%20-%20Feb%202010/Feb%2016/Disney2010019.jpg
After taking the pictures, I put my contacts in. This was very exciting because I've only had them for a few months and had never worn them in Disney before. I don't know why it was such a big deal to me, but it was :lmao: I put them in my carry-on instead of wearing them to the airport. I knew I'd fall asleep on the plane, and from what I've heard it's really uncomfortable if you fall asleep while wearing contacts. Then I put my camera, wallet, and phone into my little park bag, which was inside my carry-on. After a quick bathroom break, we headed towards the bus stop!
I'm stopping here for right now. I might do more in a little while, but right now I have a little bit of homework to finish up!

The Sox home opener...yeah, my family will make it a point to be home to catch the game. Not even a point, a priority. :rotfl: We are generally home by then, but I can just see my dad and my brother getting paranoid.
I was so excited when you texted me that you started your report!! And no, I'm not done yet with my homework, I'm taking a little break. It's so funny seeing the things that you were seeing or doing when you were texting me. :)
I can't wear contacts anymore, but it IS highly uncomfortable falling asleep with them in. :headache: Been there, done that. I am so excited to read more!

It's a priority for us too :thumbsup2 I'm actually glad it's on a Sunday night. Usually it's on a week day afternoon at like 2. I don't get home from school until around 3 and I need to see the whole game, including opening ceremonies ::yes:: One of my friends once said to me "Can't you just tape the game and watch it later?" My response was "NO!!!! IT'S NOT THE SAME!!!!!!!!" :rotfl:
Yup, it's fun to have someone who was there at the same time!!!
My cousin goes to bed with hers in sometimes  She has the kind that you throw out after one day so maybe that makes a difference

Definitely not the same! My dad was wondering if they would still have the jets fly over the park. I hope they do because that's my favorite part, and getting to see them from my living room window seconds after seeing them on TV, and then seeing them on TV again, was really really cool!
Charles has the ones that I had -- the monthly ones, that he wears for way more than a month to make them last longer, even though a couple of years ago he got an ulcer on one eye from doing that. He went to the doctor about it pretty quickly, so it healed just fine, but he STILL does it and it bugs the crap out of me. He is doing it right now, actually. :headache:
I forgot to say that I really like the coat hanger! I want one for my room!

I remember during the playoffs in 2008, game 5 of the ALCS. The one where the Sox made the amazing comeback against the Rays. That game was on until like 1 AM and the next day at school I was like this :faint: :rotfl: Again, my friend was like "you should've taped it!" What?! I couldn't have gone to bed in the middle of a playoff game
I have the monthly ones too. If they still feel okay after a month, I'll keep wearing them in case I break or lose a pair which happens to me a lot  Once they start to irritate me or they won't go in my eye easily anymore, I throw them out. I won't wear them longer than like 6 weeks.
I love the coat hanger :goodvibes
Well...I thought I fixed the pictures. Apparently not :rotfl: I'll figure it out tomorrow! I need to get to bed. Good night DISers!!!

School started at 7:30. :faint: Hey it's pretty funny that we were talking about contacts last night, because this morning I dropped my left one on the bathroom floor. I threw it out and since I had been wearing that pair since January I threw out the right one too. The new pair feels better than the old one!

Time to continue with our first day!
After leaving the room, we went to catch a bus to the Magic Kingdom! It's amazing how excited I get about riding the bus in Disney. When we got to the bus stop, there was an empty MK bus waiting for us :upsidedow My mom said "Good morning" to the driver. It was 1 PM. :rotfl: She used the "We've been up since 4 AM" excuse ;) We ended up being the only two people on the bus! When we got off we headed this way.

It's not my mom's favorite counter service, but she likes it. I loooove the corn dog nuggets  Of course we couldn't find a table  So we ate standing up and put the tray on the trash can. The food never came close to touching it so it didn't bother us too much. I remembered to take a food picture, but not until some of the food was gone. I was very proud of myself for remembering food pictures the whole trip. The only time I forgot was Crystal Palace on Sunday.

How was the weather on your trip? We are going in December...we usually go in March/April so I have no idea what to expect.
Welcome!!! I'll go check out your PTR!
The first few days it was in the 40's but it was in the 60's towards the end of the week. It hit 70 by our last day. Usually when we go in February it's mostly in the 60's or low 70's!

Happy Friday! :woohoo: Any plans for the weekend? I'm working and doing homework.
I need to figure out how to get my videos onto my computer. I could do it a few months ago but for some reason now I can't
Yeah, for me it really depends on what the concept is :rotfl:
I didn't realize when I bought my camera that the software for it was not Mac compatible. I can upload my pictures via iPhoto, but that's just pictures. I have to use some thing of Charles's -- it plugs into a USB port and has slots for memory cards, so I can just upload the videos to a folder. I always seem to forget about uploading the videos, though. :confused3

Hello to any readers that I still have! I apologize for randomly disappearing for 3 weeks. I was really busy with hospital visits and a funeral. My aunt was in the hospital for a little while and she passed away last week. It's been really rough on all of us, but we feel better than we did before the funeral. It was such a nice service and I think it helped all of us.
I'm busy with make up school work, since I missed most of last week. I'll resume this TR some time this week! Hopefully tomorrow or Friday. Definitely by Saturday!

I'm happy to be back too
I apologize for not updating over the weekend like I promised :guilty: I had a lot of make up work to do. But now I'm finally resuming my TR!
Let's see...at the end of my last update we had just eaten at Casey's.
For some reason, the Haunted Mansion is almost always our first ride, so we headed that way. We walked by here
http://i853.photobucket.com/albums/ab100/Tink9721/Disney%20World%20-%20Feb%202010/Feb%2016/Disney2010039.jpg
We knew we would be having lunch with Pooh on Sunday!
Then we headed over the bridge and walked by the yucky red water
http://i853.photobucket.com/albums/ab100/Tink9721/Disney%20World%20-%20Feb%202010/Feb%2016/Disney2010040.jpg
I'm not sure why it was like that. I know they had drained all the water the week before we were there.
There had just been a Dream Along With Mickey show and people were flooding out.
http://i853.photobucket.com/albums/ab100/Tink9721/Disney%20World%20-%20Feb%202010/Feb%2016/Disney2010041.jpg
I like this area. There's usually no one there.
http://i853.photobucket.com/albums/ab100/Tink9721/Disney%20World%20-%20Feb%202010/Feb%2016/Disney2010042.jpg
Although I imagine it gets crowded around there when Tiana is in her gazebo.
http://i853.photobucket.com/albums/ab100/Tink9721/Disney%20World%20-%20Feb%202010/Feb%2016/Disney2010044.jpg
Meghan(Megablocks) had told me that the Haunted Mansion line was really long, but I wanted to check it out for myself...I should've listened to her :rotfl: It was crazy! It extended out of the roped in area and they had to have a CM holding a "Haunted Mansion Line starts here" sign.
So, instead of getting in that crazy line we turned around and headed through Frontierland.

Our destination was...
http://i853.photobucket.com/albums/ab100/Tink9721/Disney%20World%20-%20Feb%202010/Feb%2016/Disney2010049.jpg
Which also had a very long line. I think it said 45 minutes. At this point we figured that every ride would be like that, so we hopped in line. It only took about 30 minutes to get through the line :thumbsup2
After Pirates, we went to visit the Tiki Birds! I don't have any pictures from when we were walking around Adventureland...I didn't take a lot of pictures the first day, but I have a ton from the rest of the week. I had somewhere around 1,200 total
Anyway, we grabbed some fastpasses for the Jungle Cruise before heading back towards Liberty Square. We decided to just suck it up and get in the Haunted Mansion line because it's one of our favorites. This line was insane. It wound all the way down that ramp next to the queue area, up the stairs on the other end, and all through the roped in area. I took these when we went down the ramp.

I'm not sure if I took that last one in line or after we rode.
This was a very unpleasant line experience. The two teenage boys behind us were complaining the whole time because they wanted to be spending their vacation with their friends instead of in Disney with their parents. Then the kids in front of us...3 little boys with their dad. Probably between the ages of 3 and 5. These kids were SO annoying! They kept fighting with eachother and not moving when the line moved and sitting on the ropes and everything. A CM talked to them about it at one point but they didn't speak English. Their father was COMPLETELY oblivious. He didn't notice his kids weren't with him half the time they were in line :confused3 I think we were in line for about 35 minutes, which is by far the longest I've ever waited for the Haunted Mansion!
I'm stopping here for now. I might do more later tonight. If not, I'll update later this week. I won't have time tomorrow, but I think I will on Thursday! I'm very excited for the long weekend, especially since I'll be meeting up with Meghan on Friday or Saturday :goodvibes I hope everyone has a good night!

That was a crazy day in MK... :scared: I remember us texting and being on the lookout for you!
I'm really excited for Friday -- when we were on the train coming back from the Bruins game last night, I was telling Charles I was going to meet up with you after work. He asked where and I told him and he said, "isn't that on the green line?" I said yes and he made a face :rotfl: We'll need to take a picture or two to post on our reports!
My mom asked if I'd talked to you recently because she said that she heard Rhode Island is also getting slammed with rain. It has been raining nonstop and it's not supposed to stop till Wednesday. I think by the time it stops we'll have gotten another six inches. Luckily it is supposed to be gorgeous here on Friday!

It really was a crazy day! It's not usually that crowded in February!
Ewww green line! :rotfl: I'll have to go on the green line to get there and back Friday and again on Saturday! And for two Red Sox games in the next few weeks! :scared1: Yes we definitely need pictures :goodvibes Oh, don't be surprised if my cousin looks like Velma from Scooby Doo because she's dressing up as her for the convention :rotfl: I have no idea why, because Scooby Doo isn't anime, but the when we were there last year she regretted not having a costume and this was the easiest costume she could think of :rotfl2:
Ugh, it's INSANE! We're getting sooooo much rain! The governor declared a state of emergency :scared1: A lot of RI schools got dismissed early today because of flooding. A couple main roads in my town are flooded. Our school had a few leaks and they had to put sandbags down because water was coming in one of the doors and it would've flooded the hallway. I think we're one of the only houses in town that doesn't have a flooded basement. Apparently there's a 24 hour waiting list to get your basement pumped

I'm soooo sorry I haven't updated in so long! I promise I'll post a real update sometime this week, hopefully tomorrow!
This is going back a few weeks, but I had a very fun DIS meet with Meghan(Megablocks) the Friday before Easter. I was in Boston with my cousin and Meg met us at the mall. We went and got something to eat at the food court and somehow ending up sitting there talking about random stuff for 2 hours  It was awesome! I'm glad we live so close. We can have lots of DIS meets
My spring break was last week and I was being really, really lazy :rotfl: I didn't get much done, but I did get my permit! I was driving around in the school parking lot with my dad a few times last week. Then I went with my mom on Friday. I thought she'd be panicking but she was fine  I drove outside of the parking lot for the first time yesterday. I drove around my neighborhood, which is good because it's not very busy. I actually did better in my neighborhood than in the parking lot.
On Sunday I went to a Red Sox game with my dad. The Sox lost but we still had an awesome time. We had amazing seats and it was still a really good game. I'm going to another Sox game with my mom on Mother's Day. It's so cool to go to two games so close together! I paid about 2/3 of the price for Sunday's tickets with my Christmas money and my mom gave us the rest as a late birthday present for my dad. My mom bought next week's tickets as a birthday present for her and for me :) Her birthday is tomorrow(the 29th) and mine is Friday(the 30th) :dance3:
I'll be back with some pictures from the game and the DIS meet later this week! Have a good Thursday!!!

Hi! I'm glad you posted that update...I kept checking your report & was starting to worry about you! Glad everything is ok! I know what you mean...I have been having some "lazy days" myself. I've just been sooo incredibly busy recently that I needed some time to unwind & just relax! I think everyone needs some free time to just do nothing every now & then! :goodvibes
That is so awesome that you live so close to Meghan & are able to meet! I did read about the meeting already on her report! Isn't that amazing how you can just sit & talk about various things for hours? I recently met up with a friend I haven't seen in over 7 years & we just talked & talked & talked!!! LOL
Congrats on getting your permit!
The Red Sox games sound fun!!! I didn't go to any baseball games the last 2 years, but I definitely want to go this year. I know, the Pirates stink! lol I miss the Pirates from the early 90's...thats when I used to go with my dad to games, it was so much fun! I love baseball, but I also love the food at the games! The fish they have in Pittsburgh is delicious & I always get ice cream & nachos! Yum!
Also, Happy Birthday early to both you & your mom!!!!! :bday:

I looooove going to Red Sox games!!!! I've only been to 3, but I wasn't really a sports fan until about 2 and a half years ago.
Happy birthday Christine!! :cake: :dancer: party: :bday:
Thank you!!!!
So, I was fully intending on updating over the weekend but...MY INTERNET WAS DOWN :scared1: It didn't come back until Sunday night, and then on Tuesday when I finally had a free afternoon, it was down again!!!!!!! It was partially because of that stupid computer. But....I FINALLY GOT MY LAPTOP BACK  I had a warranty so they were able to fix it for free. They would've given me a new one if they couldn't fix it, but I'm glad I got mine back. I love my laptop and I didn't want to have to transfer files and reconnect the internet and all that stuff.
Our birthdays were fun :) They were uneventful because our main birthday event is the Sox game this weekend, but we did have a small cookout with some of our family on Sunday :goodvibes
I went to the dentist today. That was fun  I HATE going to the dentist. I had to have three cavities filled. One of them was already filled before but the filling came out a few weeks ago. The other two were small. One was so small that the dentist said I probably wouldn't need novacaine. I agreed because I hate having a needle poke my gums more times than necessary, but I wish I had taken the novacaine :rotfl: It hurt!!! It wasn't unbearable, but I would've rather had the novacaine.
Now that I have my nice fast computer back :worship: I can catch up on a few TR's and then I'll put up my Red Sox and DIS meet pictures!

First...the drink. Meg, you should remember the drink  We all got food from different places in the food court and my cousin went to a Chinese place. They only had one size drink and...IT WAS HUGE!!!!! It was like twice the size of mine and I think it cost less. We were there for two hours and she couldn't finish it :rotfl:

Hello to any readers that I have left! I think it's just Meg at this point :rotfl: I'm FINALLY doing a real update after this post! I'm sooooo sorry I haven't had a real TR update in so long. I've been so busy with school and other stuff and any time I haven't been busy I've been too tired to get off the couch :rotfl: Once the summer starts I'll have lots of DIS time! I only have 17 days of school left
My mom and I had a great time at the Sox game on Mother's Day. The Sox beat the Yankees 9-3 :yay: I'll have pictures from that soon too.
On Saturday I went bowling with my best friend and two of our other friends for her birthday. I felt so bad because we played 5 games and she didn't win any of them  At one point we were tied and it was the last turn and I told her I'd try to knock down less pins than her so she could win...She ended up only knocking over 1 pin. I was like "Oh come on! I can't get less than 1! You're not making this easy!" :rotfl:
And now I'm finally gonna do a real TR update :dance3:

So when I left off(a looong time ago :rolleyes1) we had just been to the Haunted Mansion. After that we decided to head to the TTA since we were sure that it wouldn't have CRAZY lines like everything else did that day. We walked through Fantasyland and as you can imagine based on the lines for Pirates and the Haunted Mansion, the lines were INSANE!!!!
http://i853.photobucket.com/albums/ab100/Tink9721/Disney%20World%20-%20Feb%202010/Feb%2016/Disney2010058.jpg
That's the only picture I took on the way through Fantasyland. I was pretty bad at remembering to take pictures the first day because I was so excited
When we reached Tomorrowland we stopped for a minute so my mom could make a phone call. I took pictures while I waited.

Surprisingly, there was a line for TTA. Not a long one, but I couldn't believe it  They had us wait at the bottom. I think they stopped the ride for a minute to let a handicapped person on or something. While we waited I took a picture of this guy. I don't think I ever really noticed him before.

Small side note: I just noticed something while looking through the pictures on photobucket. My pictures get better as the trip goes on. Maybe it just took me a while to get used to my camera...which I've had for 3 years. I just figured out how to use some of the settings right before the trip
Anyway, after we rode TTA, we went over to the Carousel of Progress. I know some people don't like it, but I looove it. My mom loves it too but she was falling asleep during it because we had gotten up so early. The same thing happened last year  After that we realized it was almost time to use our Jungle Cruise fastpasses!
We walked through here
http://i853.photobucket.com/albums/ab100/Tink9721/Disney%20World%20-%20Feb%202010/Feb%2016/Disney2010074.jpg
and took the train to Frontierland. I've always liked riding that train. It's just fun and relaxing and I love it! :cloud9:
I took a picture of the Contemporary as we passed it.

My mom isn't crazy about it, but I'd like to stay there some day.
While we were at the Main Street station I spotted two chipmunks :goodvibes

We got off at the Frontierland station and headed this way to visit some wild animals!
http://i853.photobucket.com/albums/ab100/Tink9721/Disney%20World%20-%20Feb%202010/Feb%2016/Disney2010078.jpg
We had a great skipper. He was picking on my mom a little bit :rotfl: When he told everyone to duck, my mom didn't do it. He asked her if she was paralyzed by fear :lmao: Then towards the end when we had to duck again, she did it and he said "Oh good! I'm glad to see that you're not paralyzed by fear anymore!"

We made it out of the jungle alive, walked past the Tiki Room
http://i853.photobucket.com/albums/ab100/Tink9721/Disney%20World%20-%20Feb%202010/Feb%2016/CopyofDisney2010083.jpg
and then noticed that the Aladdin ride had a 15 minute wait. We figured it wouldn't be shorter than that any other time so we took advantage of it and went on a magic carpet ride :upsidedow
I took these while waiting to fly

I knew we had to do it at some point because my mom loves it, so we headed over to the Hall of Presidents
http://i853.photobucket.com/albums/ab100/Tink9721/Disney%20World%20-%20Feb%202010/Feb%2016/Disney2010092.jpg
That's the last picture I have before our dinner. I know what that means. DIS MEET!!!!
We went to the Haunted Mansion because the line was short at this point and I got a text from Meg saying that they were heading in that direction too, so I asked her if they wanted to ride with us :) I rode with Meg and it was sooo fun! And I can now vouch for the fact that she jumps when the heads pop up  When we got off we stood near the exit and talked for a few minutes and I gave her a lime green mickey head! I had been texting Meg while I was at Home Depot a few days before I left while I was getting one for myself and she said she forgot hers so I picked one up for her. After a few minutes we split up so my mom and I could head to Liberty Tree Tavern for our ADR! We knew we'd be meeting up for Animal Kingdom EMH the next night
We had a 7:50 reservation but we got there early and got seated at 7:30 :) We had a little two person table near a window. We would've been able to see Spectro if it was going by but it wasn't until later. We actually got to see a little bit of Wishes from the window :goodvibes
I was very proud of myself for remembering to take food pictures. My mom started eating her salad and I stopped her and said "WAIT!!!! I need pictures for my trip report!!!!!!" She made this face
:rotfl:
http://i853.photobucket.com/albums/ab100/Tink9721/Disney%20World%20-%20Feb%202010/Feb%2016/Disney2010093.jpg
Those rolls are soooooo good. I have to remind myself not to eat too many of them because the dinner is so big
Yummy :cloud9:
http://i853.photobucket.com/albums/ab100/Tink9721/Disney%20World%20-%20Feb%202010/Feb%2016/Disney2010094.jpg
My mom said she was full and had no room for dessert...but she changed her mind when she remembered that it was apple crisp :lmao:
http://i853.photobucket.com/albums/ab100/Tink9721/Disney%20World%20-%20Feb%202010/Feb%2016/Disney2010095.jpg
The meal was incredible. LTT has been excellent every time we've been!
It was only 9:00 when we finished dinner but we were both completely exhausted at this point so we decided to head back to our home away from home. But first I had to stop and get a stuffed animal for my cousin(Zero from Nightmare Before Christmas!) I found out when I gave it to her that her brother had gotten her the exact same thing when he went in October  But she said she like having two because they were given to her by differrent people. Plus there wasn't much I could do about it back in Rhode Island
Then we walked down Main Street and headed for the bus. I think this was when I got hit by a little kid with a toy sword
I'll stop here for now. Next update I'll have pictures of WL that I took when we got back that night. Then our 1900 Park Fare breakfast! :dance3:

Thank you! Welcome to the TR! :goodvibes
Today is a very hot day in Rhode Island. It's 96 degrees :scared1: It almost never gets that hot here and it's only May! I walk home from school every day(about 1 mile) and today I thought I was gonna pass out! It's so hot! The pavement was burning my feet through my shoes! I came home and immediately took a cold shower. It felt sooo good :) I'm sitting at my desk with a fan on right next to me. Now I'm gonna go catch up on a few other TR's! Tomorrow's a half day at school(I get to go home at 10:45!) so I should have time to do another update :thumbsup2

Thanks for letting be in Magic Kingdom for a while this afternoon. I know it is hotter than a firecracker down there right now, though! I know the kids who are there right now are enjoying the water spraying objects in Adventureland.
We enjoyed our Liberty Tree meal the day before Thanksgiving a couple of years ago. It was good, and the apple crisp was delicious, but I could only handle a bite or two after the big dinner.

Great updates Christine!!! I loved all of the pictures of MK!
The food at LTT looked delicious...its making me hungry & also making me wish I would have made an ADR for LTT!!! lol
Somehow I've never been on Aladdin's carpets :confused3...but I always love seeing people's pictures from up in the air! I'll have to put it on our "must do's" for this trip.
Can't wait to read more!!! :goodvibes

Yup. I'm a wimp. And when the cars turned sideways, my mom was disappointed to find out that it was you, not me, sitting closest to her in her and Kailyn's buggy, so she didn't have the chance to reach over and grab my arm and hear me scream. :rotfl2:
Isn't is bizarre to think that we would never have gotten our next night at AK if my flight hadn't gotten messed up?! That was one of the funnest nights I've ever had in the World!
It was super hot here earlier in the week, too, both Tuesday and Wednesday. I actually didn't terribly mind working because it was TOO hot and humid for me. I'm strange, so I don't really like the super hot days, but I love the warm nights. Just a weird preference. ;)

You're welcome! Today when I update you get to be in the Wilderness Lodge and then the Grand Floridian :cloud9:
The food there is always good! Apple crisp is my mom's favorite so she always makes sure to save room for it :)

I've only been on it twice because the line is usually so long but it's fun :)

You should've seen how much of a wimp I was when I was 6! I was terrified of like half the rides the first time I went on them but I loved them after :rotfl: Strangely that same trip I walked right on to Rock & Rollercoaster without any fear at all :confused3 :lmao: I probably would've gone on Tower of Terror if I had been tall enough. But after that trip it took me 9 years to get on it :rotfl2:
I know! Who knew that a flight cancellation could actually help? That was such a fun night!
I don't mind the heat as much if it's not humid. It's the humidity that really bothers me :headache: I like cooler nights because I have trouble sleeping if it's too hot.

When I left off we were on the way back to the Wilderness Lodge! I just found a picture that I apparently took at some point on the way out of the park, so I guess we walked through Fantasyland on the way out.
http://i853.photobucket.com/albums/ab100/Tink9721/Disney%20World%20-%20Feb%202010/Feb%2016/CopyofDisney2010096.jpg
Anyway, we took the bus back to WL and went back to our room to put our bags down. A few days before we left I had seen a picture in MeMom's report of a cozy little area in the WL lobby. I knew it was a place where my mom would LOVE to sit and read, so we went to find it. My mom sat down at a little desk area where some people sit and write letters while I looked for the cozy spot. Candid picture I took from the next floor :rolleyes1
http://i853.photobucket.com/albums/ab100/Tink9721/Disney%20World%20-%20Feb%202010/Feb%2016/Disney2010098.jpg
I eventually found the spot(and apparently didn't take a picture) and my mom relaxed for a little bit while I walked around, explored, and took a couple pictures :)

There are a lot of nice areas around the lobby if you explore some of the other floors. I found a little balcony that I took this picture from.
http://i853.photobucket.com/albums/ab100/Tink9721/Disney%20World%20-%20Feb%202010/Feb%2016/Disney2010103.jpg
I had about 6 different attempts at that picture and that was the best result  The camera was not agreeing with me the first day :rotfl: I thought I had more pictures, but I'm thinking of a different night.
So after a looooong, fun day we went to bed. It's always more fun going to bed when you know the next day you'll wake up to more magic :cloud9:
Since this is the end of the first day I'll stop this post here and continue in the next one!

This morning we had a reservation at 1900 Park Fare! This was a new restaurant for us so we were excited. When I made the reservation I knew we'd want to sleep in a little bit because we'd be exhausted from the first day, so I made it for 10:00.
We took the bus to Magic Kingdom and then waited for the monorail.
http://i853.photobucket.com/albums/ab100/Tink9721/Disney%20World%20-%20Feb%202010/Feb%2017/Disney2010104.jpg
I was excited to finally see inside the Grand Floridian for the first time!
Another candid picture of my mom :rolleyes1

Note the fact that she's wearing one jacket and has another one around her waist. It was COLD!
Shortly after I took that picture, we had our first monorail ride of the trip  When we got to the Grand Floridian we were a little early, so I took some pictures of the beautiful lobby.

http://i853.photobucket.com/albums/ab100/Tink9721/Disney%20World%20-%20Feb%202010/Feb%2017/Disney2010110.jpg
We decided not to get our picture taken because my mom hates doing it  After refusing the picture, we were taken to our seats. This restaurant is gorgeous!!! Almost immediately after we sat down, Mary Poppins came to our table. She was so in character!
Please ignore my face in this picture. I wasn't ready when my mom took it
http://i853.photobucket.com/albums/ab100/Tink9721/Disney%20World%20-%20Feb%202010/Feb%2017/Disney2010111.jpg
Mary Poppins asked my mom if she wanted a picture, and she has a hard time saying no to characters who can really talk, so now we actually get to see something besides the back of my mom's head!
http://i853.photobucket.com/albums/ab100/Tink9721/Disney%20World%20-%20Feb%202010/Feb%2017/Disney2010112.jpg
It looked like it would be a while before anymore characters came, so we went to get our food. My mom got back to the table before me and when I got back Tigger had just arrived. Once again, ignore my face.
http://i853.photobucket.com/albums/ab100/Tink9721/Disney%20World%20-%20Feb%202010/Feb%2017/Disney2010113.jpg
Tigger can't talk, so my mom didn't take a picture :rotfl:
Here's my plate
http://i853.photobucket.com/albums/ab100/Tink9721/Disney%20World%20-%20Feb%202010/Feb%2017/Disney2010114.jpg
And my mom's. She didn't notice that there were Mickey plates so she grabbed a boring one :sad2: I think she had a second plate that I didn't get a picture of.
http://i853.photobucket.com/albums/ab100/Tink9721/Disney%20World%20-%20Feb%202010/Feb%2017/Disney2010115.jpg
A few minutes later, the Mad Hatter came over. He was hilarious! One of the chefs was talking to someone at a table across the room and the Hatter screamed "I like your hat!" at him :rotfl:
Maybe I was just tired, but I have a weird look on my face in every 1900 Park Fare picture :lmao:

Alice had come by while we were getting our food so unfortunately we didn't get pictures with her. I loved this restaurant! The food and characters were great! My only complaint was our waitress. She barely said a word to us after we sat down. But having a grumpy waitress at a buffet isn't a big deal, so I didn't let it bother me too much.
I found this picture. My camera made it look dark, but I think it's the light outside of the bathrooms in the lobby. I blame MeMom for the fact that I was taking pictures of lights ;)

So many nice pictures! I love the comfortable feel of Wilderness Lodge, and there are so many sitting areas for just relaxing.
We look forward to our 1900 Park Fare breakfast with just Brooklynn. It will be a special time just to focus on her.
I hope I can remember to get the marble floor pictures at GF this time that I didn't have time for when we were there during Christmas.

I agree. The Wilderness Lodge just feels so cozy and it really feels like a home away from home :cloud9:
We really enjoyed our breakfast! The characters were fabulous! The Mad Hatter was hilarious and Mary Poppins was really sweet. I'm sure Brooklynn will love it!
I love the floor! It's fun to find the Disney characters in it :)

I'm currently sitting in one of the most comfortable chairs on the planet. It's huge and soft and cozy. It would fit in the Wilderness Lodge very nicely :cloud9: My mom's on a short business trip(she left yesterday, she's coming back tomorrow) so I'm at my dad's house. I brought my laptop so I can update my report :upsidedow
When I left off, we had just gotten off Spaceship Earth. We wanted to see if there were any Soarin' fastpasses left, but we knew it wasn't likely since it was so crowded and it was somewhere around noon at this point.
http://i853.photobucket.com/albums/ab100/Tink9721/Disney%20World%20-%20Feb%202010/Feb%2017/Disney2010137.jpg
We checked the board, and they actually did have some left but they were for around 8 PM and we knew we'd be in Animal Kingdom with Megablocks at that point, so we decided to try it a different day.
http://i853.photobucket.com/albums/ab100/Tink9721/Disney%20World%20-%20Feb%202010/Feb%2017/Disney2010138.jpg
We decided to go visit Figment. I know a lot of people don't like the ride, but I love it. I was very excited because I didn't get to see Figment in 2009. It was closed for a refurb, and it was supposed to open the day before we left but it got delayed and opened after we were gone :sad2:

There was actually a little bit of a line. I don't think I've ever seen a line for that before! After visiting Figment, we checked the board and noticed that Living With the Land only had a 20 minute wait and since we were close, we headed there.

I thought I took more pictures than that, but I guess not. We left the Land Pavillion, and went to another ride that was being refurbished last year...
I took a couple pictures on the way.

I like this ride, but we usually just do it once per trip because it takes up so much time. I was really excited because we were some of the first people in the room, and when they opened the doors I grabbed seats in the front row of the car on the left(the one that leaves the theater first) :upsidedow I had never gotten in the front row before and I was ridiculously excited about it :rotfl:
When we left, I took a random picture of Spaceship Earth peeking up over the monorail track :)

This is where I did some expert planning. We wanted to go around World Showcase, but we didn't think we'd have time to do all of it and make it to Animal Kingdom on time. I suggested going around part of it, then taking the boat to the Yacht Club, since I'd always wanted to see it, and doing the rest of WS a different day. My mom liked the plan, so we headed for World Showcase.
On the way, we decided to check the wait for Test Track. This is one of the few thrill rides that my mom can do, but she doesn't like it  The single rider line was only 20 minutes, so I hopped in line and my mom took the opportunity to call my grandma to check in.
I'm not a car-obsessed person at all, but there are a couple cars that I love, and this is one of them
http://i853.photobucket.com/albums/ab100/Tink9721/Disney%20World%20-%20Feb%202010/Feb%2017/Disney2010151.jpg
Unfortunately, it wasn't one of the ones you could sit in, it was on the spinning display thing.
Anyway, I went outside, found my mom, and we continued on toward World Showcase.

http://i853.photobucket.com/albums/ab100/Tink9721/Disney%20World%20-%20Feb%202010/Feb%2017/Disney2010153.jpg
and then I saw these flowers(and the water bottle that someone left there)
http://i853.photobucket.com/albums/ab100/Tink9721/Disney%20World%20-%20Feb%202010/Feb%2017/Disney2010154.jpg
and decided that for whatever reason, I wanted the flowers, the water, and the track in one picture. I got a bonus. I got the actual monorail too :thumbsup2

Hi guys! Sorry I didn't get an update up this weekend. I probably won't get one up until Thursday or Friday. I have one more day of classes tomorrow, then two exams Wednesday, one Thursday, and one Monday. I'll be studying most of the week, but I'll be done Monday at 11 AM :worship:
I'd like to point out that as of today, I've had my DIS account for exactly a year :cool1:
I'll check in later this week! Good luck to anyone else finishing up the school year!

On the way to China, there was a family who asked my mom if she could take their picture. My mom pointed to me and said "Let her do it. She's much better with cameras." Normally I'm pretty good at figuring out cameras, but guess who couldn't figure out which button to push? :rotfl2:

Since I'm half Italian on my dad's side, I decided to call him so I could say "I'm calling you from Italy!" :rotfl: While I was sitting on a bench talking to him, the seagulls came over. They weren't attacking but they were swarming all over the place and a few of them were flying around the bench so I moved. The people on the bench nearby thought it was hilarious, but so did I :rotfl2: My dad asked what I was laughing at and I said "I'm running away from the crazy seagulls!"

Somewhere around here I changed the setting on my camera so the pictures would be a lower quality, but I'd have room for more. At this point I only had room for about 300 more and since I had already taken over 100 and it was only half way through the second day, I figured it was a good idea. I ended up taking 1200 pictures

Hi! I wonder if I still have readers... Sorry I go so long between updates!
Anyway, when I left off we were about to get on a boat to go to the Yacht and Beach Club.

After about 15 minutes, we got on the next boat. I had never seen any of the hotels in this area in person, so I was excited! We got a seat in the outside part of the boat so I could take pictures :thumbsup2 That was kind of a bad idea since it was so cold, but we're from New England so we survived ;) The first stop was the Boardwalk.

I would love to have one of those rooms on the side of the lighthouse overlooking the water

We made a quick stop in the gift shop just to look around. I thought this was cute!

I liked these music box things. I wanted to buy a Peter Pan one later on in the trip, but I was afraid it would break on the plane. Next time, if they still have it, I'll buy it and ship it home. I have no idea why I didn't think of that before :rotfl:
http://i853.photobucket.com/albums/ab100/Tink9721/Disney%20World%20-%20Feb%202010/Feb%2017/Disney2010253.jpg
After a little browsing in the gift shop, we headed out to the bus stop. It took forever for an Animal Kingdom bus to come, but of course a bus came for everything else
This was my first time being in Animal Kingdom at night. I was so excited, especially since I knew I had another DIS meet coming up! I attempted to get a picture of the sign.
http://i853.photobucket.com/albums/ab100/Tink9721/Disney%20World%20-%20Feb%202010/Feb%2017/Disney2010258.jpg
We were really hungry at this point, so we decided to eat at Yak and Yeti. I had actually tried to get an ADR there for a different day, but it was full so we just ate at the quick service counter. While we were walking, a ton of people were flooding out because the park was closing. Hooray for EMH! When we got to Yak and Yeti, I grabbed a table while my mom got the food.
We both had the honey chicken and we ordered sides of egg rolls and chicken fried rice to share. We didn't realize that there was rice with the chicken, so it was way too much food
My chicken. It was SO good!
http://i853.photobucket.com/albums/ab100/Tink9721/Disney%20World%20-%20Feb%202010/Feb%2017/Disney2010261.jpg
The rice, which we didn't finish but it was good, and the egg rolls which were also good. The cookie was my mom's and the cake was mine. I loooove the little Disney chocolate cakes :cloud9:
http://i853.photobucket.com/albums/ab100/Tink9721/Disney%20World%20-%20Feb%202010/Feb%2017/Disney2010262.jpg

I was texting Meg while we were eating to see where she was. We decided to meet in front of Dinosaur :cool1: I rode with her, her parents, and her sister. My mom waited for us because it's too jerky for her back. We walked right on the ride. Again, hooray for EMH :upsidedow
It was so fun to finally ride this with someone else. Usually I'm alone  Meg's dad was hilarious :rotfl: I stole this picture from Meg :) I forgot to pose, but I'm surprised at how calm I look :lmao:
http://i853.photobucket.com/albums/ab100/Tink9721/untitled.jpg
After we found my mom, we went to ride Expedition Everest, another ride that I've always had to ride alone  There was barely a line and we got on really fast. Meghan's dad kept touching stuff and pulling things that were attached to the wall the whole time we were in line. :rotfl2:
As soon as we got off, we went right back on. This time Meg's mom sat out with my mom and they waited for us.
After riding Everest, we went to ride Primeval Whirl. Neither of our moms rode. Meg's mom tried to take some pictures of us riding but we were moving too fast for them to come out  I hadn't been on this ride in so long. I love it. Meg's dad kept making this really funny noise the whole time :lmao:
We went to ride Dinosaur one more time since it usually has such a long wait during the day. Another picture I stole from Meg. Again, I forgot to pose
http://i853.photobucket.com/albums/ab100/Tink9721/22334_320934229094_505059094_339863.jpg
After that my mom was starting to get tired, so we decided to part ways with Meg's family and go back to the Wilderness Lodge. But first, we had to take a picture :) My mom took a picture on my camera too, but Meg's version came out better so once again, I stole it. :rotfl:
http://i853.photobucket.com/albums/ab100/Tink9721/22334_320934239094_505059094_339864.jpg
We said bye to everyone and went back to the bus stop. It was an awesome night! :dance3:
And that's the end of my second day. How sad is it that this trip was 5 months ago and I've only gotten through 2 days? The first part of Day 3 will be up this week! Goodnight everyone!

Okay, I am a bad DIS'er...I didn't know Yak and Yeti had a CS option! I want to eat there so badly.
That was SUCH an awesome night! I bet if I asked my dad to make that noise again, he would have no idea what I was talking about. :lmao:

I wouldn't have known either if I hadn't been randomly looking at menus the week before we left
Probably not :rotfl:
You know what we both forgot to mention? The one little dino that couldn't fly! :rotfl2:

I'm such a bad DISer  I've been trying to clean my room and get as much done as I can in the last few weeks of my summer. My room is a disaster :rotfl: Plus, my laptop is having issues yet again so it's hard to update my TR. Not the laptop really, but the charger. This thing hates me :lmao: Anyway, I'm heading up to Vermont for our annual vaction this weekend. When I get home, I have one day then I go back to school :sad2: But, this is finally my last year of high school :dance3:
Now, finally, I will start the third day of my trip!
Thursday, February 18, 2010
This was our DHS day. We always try to have a full day at DHS so we can see as many of the shows as possible. We went to DHS again later in the trip for a few hours too.
Today we had an ADR at 50's Prime Time Cafe, but it was for a late lunch(2:15 I think) so we decided to get breakfast at Whispering Canyon Cafe. If you've ever been to WCC, you'll know that craziness occurs if you ask for ketchup. We were very relieved to find a bottle already on our table when we sat down :rotfl2:
http://i853.photobucket.com/albums/ab100/Tink9721/Disney%20World%20-%20Feb%202010/Feb%2018/Disney2010269.jpg
We both got the skillet, which comes with bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, Mickey waffles, potatoes, biscuits, and gravy. I forgot to take a picture until most of it was gone.

Everything was great and as always, it was an entertaining meal :thumbsup2
We went to look around the gift shop a little bit on the way out to the bus stop. I loved this cute little guy.

After a little browsing we hopped on a bus to DHS.
http://i853.photobucket.com/albums/ab100/Tink9721/Disney%20World%20-%20Feb%202010/Feb%2018/Disney2010272.jpg
I noticed a few weeks ago that apparently I didn't fit the whole sign in. I love how it says "Disney's Hollywood Stud" :rotfl:

http://i853.photobucket.com/albums/ab100/Tink9721/Disney%20World%20-%20Feb%202010/Feb%2018/Disney2010274.jpg
We immediately headed towards Tower of Terror and Rock & Rollercoaster to get fastpasses for me. I'm sure I mentioned this before, but my mom can't do thrill rides. The fastpass times were already pretty late so I got them as fast as I could. I think ToT was 2:30 to 3:30 or something like that and R&R was around 7:00.
After getting those, we did a little shopping. I can't remember if I bought anything or not, but I don't think I did.
I love Nightmare Before Christmas so I really like this store.

http://i853.photobucket.com/albums/ab100/Tink9721/Disney%20World%20-%20Feb%202010/Feb%2018/Disney2010284.jpg
I just remembered that we bought a Pirates shirt for my dad while we were in there. After shopping, we went to ride one of our favorites, the Great Movie Ride.
I think the High School Musical thing was going on so we took a slightly longer route.

Lunch time!
We checked in about a half hour early so we had to wait.

After only a few minutes we were seated.
This was the view from the table.

Some cute stuff on the shelves next to our table.

For some reason, we decided to have an appetizer, entrees, and desserts. We're crazy  We never do that unless we're in Disney. I think we were just REALLY hungry from all the walking.
We had onion rings for our appetizer.
http://i853.photobucket.com/albums/ab100/Tink9721/Disney%20World%20-%20Feb%202010/Feb%2018/Disney2010384.jpg
They were delicious!
For her entree, my mom had...something. I think it was the grilled chicken sandwich.
http://i853.photobucket.com/albums/ab100/Tink9721/Disney%20World%20-%20Feb%202010/Feb%2018/Disney2010385.jpg

I think I only ate two pieces of the chicken so I could save room for dessert...

I didn't get a picture of my mom's dessert, but I think she had an ice cream sundae.
I have no idea how people with the deluxe dining plan can do that for every meal. We were soooo full. Although a lot of people with the deluxe plan do 2 credit meals.
I'll stop here for now. I'll try to do another update before I leave, but I probably won't have time. To everyone starting school this week, good luck! And to everyone who's still on vacation, enjoy it! :goodvibes
