Hello everyone! I am so excited to finally be posting on these boards, (I've only been reading them like crazy for months!) I can finally say we are ENGAGED and are the begining stages of planning our very own Disney Wedding!
A little about us....
Alex and I both met in 2005 on our College Programs at Disney World. Ironically, our roomates were best friends and had both begged us to go to Pleasure Island with them which both of us didn't want to do that night. When I walked into the boys Vista Way apartment and met Alex for the first (technically second but more on that later) I really felt a connection. Yes, its cheesy I know but I've never felt so comfortable with someone. Our conversation was easy and we ended up having a blast.
That night, he asked me out and we had our first kiss in the rain...yeah I was hooked :lovestruc
So we spent every day of the next 8 months at each other's sides. I was working in Merchandise at Tower of Terror/Rockin Rollercoaster/Fantasmic and he was a Bellhop at the Tower so it actually ended up being pretty easy to hang out together. We are at the bottom left, I'm the only one not dressed as a bellhop Alex is sitting next to me
http://i899.photobucket.com/albums/ac194/Disneydiva84/Engagement%20and%20Disney%20College%20program%20pi ctures/n41001855_30005007_2268.jpg?t=1264387744
Then we had to part ways. We went back to our seperate colleges, with me in Tampa and Alex in Georgia. This began what I like to call the long years as it wasn't until four years later that we actually were able to live together again! Yes, you got it, FOUR years of LONG DISTANCE :rolleyes1(please don't ask how we did it, I have no clue to this day)
So fast forward past a shaky year, Alex moved in with me in Chicago, he is from Atlanta and I am from St Louis so we figured this was a good halfway point though truth be told we are both still hoping for a move to Orlando :wizard:
PROPOSAL
Alex had been in Chicago for about 6 months and I knew it was getting close. We weren't shy about chatting up the idea of a Disney Wedding so I knew he was going to hop aboard the marriage train at some point. We had planned a trip around the Disney Half Marathon as we were both running it and I had my fingers crossed. Turns out he totally managed to sweep me off my little feet.
If any of you were in Orlando on Marathon Weekend than you know I felt right at home since it was 29 degrees at the Start of the Race YIKES, I had thought that Alex may propose to me at the finish line however when i saw he was wearing shorts i thought no way, where would he put the ring? :confused3
As we were hanging out around the DJ Booth trying our best to keep warm, a Disney Cast Member came up to us and asked are you a couple? We are doing Couples Disney Trivia at the start of the race and we have a nice warm van that can take you there....I was like hmmm Disney Trivia and warmth....DONE DEAL :worship:
http://i899.photobucket.com/albums/ac194/Disneydiva84/Engagement%20and%20Disney%20College%20program%20pi ctures/IMG_1694_800x449.jpg?t=1264388450
So here I am thinking that we are going to totally put other couples to shame with our insane wealth of Disney knowladge when all along that was not the plan at all
We got out at the start line and took our places infront of the camera I still had no idea at this point....
Then the camera came to us, and the entertainment cast member said that they were turning things over to Alex instead of doing trivia....
This is when i figured it out....and began to have a major freak out session :yay:

I can't remember what he said to the crowd or how he proposed but i do remember saying yes!
http://i899.photobucket.com/albums/ac194/Disneydiva84/Engagement%20and%20Disney%20College%20program%20pi ctures/IMG_1725_800x449.jpg?t=1264388584
I was so excited the run went by really fast but we did finish :) Not only did our friend manage to take some amazing photos but Disney also sent us a DVD! So we have our moment forever, I truly could not be happier
Here's us thanking the people who made it happen at Disney

Disney Wedding here we come! We are hoping for either October 2010 or February 2011 and fingers are crossed for Italy :thumbsup2
I can't wait to get started...does anyone know how long it took for the Coordinator to get in touch? I'm so excited that even minutes are dragging

omg what a cute proposal!! Congrats on getting engaged and deciding on a Disney wedding :lovestruc Not sure about the timing for a coordinator for a Wishes wedding...we are having an Escape and it took a couple weeks after signing the final contract!!

Hi Ashley! So exciting to see you on here! I saw on facebook that you got engaged. I think a Disney Wedding is perfect for you. Too funny that Jeff and I actually had planned October 2009 and switched to February 2010, both are very good months whichever one you choose. I can't say for sure about a coordinator as when I first called up I was inquiring about a cruise wedding, but I think it was only a day or two before someone got back to me.
Can't wait to hear more about your plans!

What a great engagement story!! Congrats!!!! Planning a dream disney wedding is definitely great and you'll have a ton of fun. I am getting married at Sea Breeze Point in June 2010...if you look through the PJ's Jspahn got married at Italy and has some beautiful photos to look through :goodvibes

Thank you so much for letting me know! I will definitely check those out for sure! Sea Breeze point sounds lovely too, that more than likely is going to end up as our second choice so you will have to keep me posted for sure!

Yey I saw the pictures. So cute! I love how excited you were for Disney trivia lol.
We are getting married on the Croquet Lawn at th Boardwalk, reception at the Living Seas Salon and dessert party in the UK. I'm super excited we have less than 3 weeks!
My only concern with Italy would be the construction on the restaurant that is already started in the back of the pavilion. Not sure when they are going to be done.
DisneyDiva84
01-19-2010, 09:53 AM
Hmm construction in Italy....that could be interesting for sure. I will have to ask the Coordinator about it when he/she calls (seriously the wait is killing me lol) I just want to find out if October is even available
PS. I was reading your PJ when you did your tasting how did you get to taste the full menu? I thought that you just tasted cake? Though this could be a very silly innocent question...since i am just starting out so forgive if it is, but that sounded like a blast

But I do miss it though...definitely beats cube life

I did 2 programs also...and recruited for them...and was a TDS manager:rotfl: It is addictive!!
As for the Planning Session, if you are having a Wishes wedding you just have to request it, otherwise you just taste cake. There is no cost :)

So as they say Ask and ye shall recieve!
I was at my desk anxiously awaiting the call from Disney which could have came today or tomorrow and a co-worker stopped by to discuss the engagement. The second I started talking about dates the phone rings, 407 area code... :worship:
My wedding coordinator was so nice and honestly incredibly helpful. I let her know we were wanting Italy in October and she even checked on the construction without me asking...love it. Turns out they are open on the day we need! Now i just need Mom and Dad's approval and we can hold it :scared:
But onto the reception, I'm very torn. I want something other than a ballroom but i want to be able to have a real dance space that can be seen from each table. I want it to feel intimate but not too small. She suggested CA Grill as Whitehall would have been a little too small and at first I was ecstatic but now i think that may be too awkward plus we'd have to be out by 3 which makes for a short reception which is a no no....i have no clue where to look...:confused3
Other than that I am ecstatic about settling on this date, I can't say it yet because I don't want to jinx it but oh my gosh if it works its going to be FANTASTIC!
Wish me luck ;)

Yey for getting the call from your coordinator! I have my fingers crossed that you can claim your date. My MOH is getting married in October back home in VA. I'm not a ballroom person either, although dancing is not a big concern for us. I will say that if you go with Cali Grill then it is a set menu and you do not get a food tasting. However there are lots of great non ballroom options out there so I'm sure you will find something that works for you.

Thank you so much! It really was so much more than I could have ever wished for. I had known it could have happened that weekend but I wasn't expecting what he did at all and was truly shocked. I am working on getting the picture situation under control so I can post them here :) Discussion boards are always better with pictures right? :cool1:

Thank you, believe me mine are crossed too! Things are in high gear given the call was two days ago ha. Oh well, its fun anyway :goodvibes
I think we are doing CA Grill just for the view alone since it will be so amazing to be up there during the day, but if our guest list gets much smaller I am thinking maybe Whitehall but that just feels too small. Living Seas wasn't available for our time :sad2: but I'm sure whatever we will choose Disney will make it memorable

Okay so I think the Wedding Department knows my number by heart but I can't feel guilty. I finally decided on a great location! AND BONUS they are held for us so we should be good to go!
We will have the ceremony (date to be announced when final ;) ) at Italy in Epcot from 9-10:30
Then we move on over to the Napa Room and Sonoma Room in California Grill for lunch and dancing!
It really is the most perfect solution (thank goodness my brilliant fiance thought of it :worship:) We will have the cocktail hour in Sonoma for our guests and so we can be announced by the DJ as we arrive. Probably will do our first dance in there and then move over to Napa for lunch overlooking MK. Then one last move back into Sonoma for dancing. It gives me a chance to have everything I thought was important without being shoved in a corner in the restaurant itself. And everyone will have to dance or sit at the hi-tops and watch us get down
So happy and excited right now! I am heading to STL to discuss the contract and such with my parents and i might even do some dress shopping :cloud9: but we will see. My apologies for the lack of pictures, I'm not too bright when it comes to adding them in but I'm working on it I promise

THE RING
So I apologize this picture is very blury, we must have tried a gazillion times to get a picture that showed how sparkly the ring really is, darn you apartment lighting

The center stone was my great grandmothers and was handed down to me when she passed in 2000. It was part of a necklace and I honestly never really wore it because I didn't trust that it would be safe. So it just sat in this box under my bed (for safety). My mom actually came up with the idea of using it my ring. Alex did a perfect job of picking a setting that fits with the look of the stone and I couldn't be happier. I love things that have a story behind them :goodvibes

Home for Wedding Planning! [/COLOR]
I am so excited, I finally get to go home for some wedding planning! Not to mention getting a chance to go over everything with my parents one on one. I think my excited phone calls might have been a tad overwhelming :scared: But they are happy and excited just want to get on the same page.
We are also going dress shopping! :cool1: My Maid of Honor (best friend in universe) will be there as well as my Grandma, and my mom! It's going to be a lot of fun. We are going to a boutique first then to David's Bridal. The boutique sells Maggie Soterro which are actually right in my price range so fingers crossed i like the fit. They look beautiful online, has anyone ever bought one? How did you like it?
Then its off to David's Bridal to try on more gowns and place about 40 or so in my MOH's dressing room for her to try because i have no clue what to put them in:confused3
It's going to be a fun but crazy weekend and i can't wait. Lets just hope the train from Chicago to STL isn't delayed :scared: that would be a little unfortunate
I'll let you know how it goes!

Home in STL Recap!!
Wow what a weekend! Now I need to catch everyone up:surfweb:
First up: Photography
Since we are getting married in Italy, we have to use Disney Photography for the ceremony. Thankfully, they are offering a ceremony only package which although is only 100 dollars less than my awesome all-day photographer is still a deal. So for three hours my AMAZING photographer gets to take a break but for the rest of the day...RANDY CHAPMAN will be snapping away! I am so excited he had my date available and BONUS he might be able to do our Engagement session WOOO HOOO
Make-up/Hair
So I've done my homework and everyone and their mom seems to love Patricia Lejeune, who thankfully had my date open as well :yay: So we are booked with her as well for bridesmaids hair and my make up and hair, including trial run!

http://i899.photobucket.com/albums/ac194/Disneydiva84/Engagement%20and%20Disney%20College%20program%20pi ctures/th_bridesmaid.jpg
My poor wonderful MOH had to literally try on a BILLION dresses at Davids bridal before we found this one. She walked out and I literally took one look and said DONE! This was considered a joke but I was serious. Its a dress that I would pick out for myself if I had the chance so why not??? I love it! NOTE it will be in CLOVER not Orange :goodvibes
It's chiffon with the two straps hanging down the back...love it! And i think it will look spectacular next to my dress! YES i said DRESS :thumbsup2
So without further ado....
The Front

http://i899.photobucket.com/albums/ac194/Disneydiva84/Engagement%20and%20Disney%20College%20program%20pi ctures/Back.jpg?t=1265500692
If you couldn't tell i had a massive debate with myself whether or not to post a pic of my head on the dress...so here we go :wizard: I want to make sure i get a picture with my bridesmaids and I sitting so i tried it out :) Plus I am a huge fan of you guessed it...Cinderella and always loved how her dress poofs out in the parks when she sat down...yeah i'm a big kid in grown up pretty dresses so be it :)
http://i899.photobucket.com/albums/ac194/Disneydiva84/Engagement%20and%20Disney%20College%20program%20pi ctures/Sitting.jpg?t=1265500728
I truly love the dress and funny thing is had i picked it out of the catalog i would have never tried it on! The catalog does it no justice, in fact I hate to say but it kind of looks bad...shame on Davids but I still love them. The best part about the dress is that its princessy without being too over the top...and when the sunlight hits the bottom the dress sparkles from all the clear sequins and designs that you can't really see so its almost like magic :wizard:
LOVE IT

That happened to me with my prom dress, actually. It was black and had this white insert in the center of the front and a silver brooch, and I didn't like it when I looked at it on the hanger, but it looked awesome on me, so I got it.
But yeah, you definitely look like a princess in it :) Yay! princess:

Planning Session!
So we booked our Planning Session! It feels so much better to know that everything is booked and I don't have to worry about getting everything lined up!
Our planning session is April 9th from 1-5pm! So the schedule should go something like this
Thursday: Fly in
Friday: Parks in the morning
Planning Session 1-5pm
Parks for a nightime show
Saturday: Parks
Sunday: Hair/Make-Up trial with Patricia LeJeune 11 am
Engagement Shots with Randy Chapman 2:15 :cool1:
Monday: Fly out
Note about the flights just because I think its crazy unlucky
I earned a free flight on American at work due to performing a very impromptu
Julia Childs impression in front of my entire Corporate Home office (that is another story:laughing:) and at the same time I got a free flight on my Southwest Visa YAY two free flights, one for the planning session and one for the honeymoon!
You would think....
Turns out for the Planning Session not only do they not have my date for the American Airlines flight available but Southwest doesn't either (at least not for my time) So i had to end up taking the day off work to get my free flight to work on Southwest. The lady trying to book my flight from work was like "oh you need Thursday to Monday...I can get you Wednesday to the following Wednesday" To which I replied "no thanks I need my ACTUAL days" lol craziness i tell you :surfweb:
lol and they say free flights are a good thing :scared: I was so crazed at work it was just not even funny ha!

Sorry! Oh my it's been a long time!
I've been a little busy, Alex has been out of town so I've been working on developing a work out plan consisting of a little heat yoga...though why i do it I have no clue :confused3
Big news, Alex and I are going to start house hunting! Even though we hate the cold we both agree that quitting our jobs to move to sunny weather is just not worth it in this economy ;)
So a house hunting we will go! We have an appoitment this Sunday. I am actually a little excited about it not going to lie :)
AND I picked out a gift for my Dear Dad!
http://i899.photobucket.com/albums/ac194/Disneydiva84/th_CL-0060_Harley_Davidson_Cufflinks_2.jpg
He loves Harley's and actually has one so I figured what better gift to give him then cufflinks to wear the day he walks me down the aisle? I'm going to give them to him right after he sees me the day of. I think he will love them and BONUS they were 150.00 on the site and only 10.00 on EBAY!! Lets just hope they send them to me :rolleyes1
But i love them anyway
More to come! Back to the Olympics!

Thank you so much. Since I bought it early its always nice to get little reminders that it was the right one. I had to buy it early so that i could have enough time for alterations and since those will be done in STL the dress is there. Which kills me because i wiould love to just look at it everyday :lovestruc
No worries about the YET part. I seriously stalked these boards for about a year before my engagement. And I can actually say it helped SOOOOOOO much. When we settled on our date we literally got flooded with info and thankfully I had a pre-determined idea of what things cost etc from other disbrides, so i'm happy to help in whatever way I can!

You are moving full steam ahead! I hear ya though, cause that was me last year when we were originally getting married on the 10/10 cruise. I'm so happy you got that date, that is awesome!
I love your dress you look so great in your princess poses! Love the the BM dresses too. I suggested that dress to my MOH for her wedding on 10/16 because she just got a call from DB last week that they discontinued the dress she originally picked for us to wear.
That's a bummer about the free flights, but at least you are able to come down! Planning Sessions are the best, one of the best things about the wedding!
How exciting that you are house hunting! Jeff and I need to get on that, our lease is up June 1st and we want to buy a house by then.

Thank you! I am so excited to hear about your day!!! I can't wait to see the pictures! We didn't get a pic of the back of the bridesmaid dresses and that's my favorite part. I love the scarves in the back. That's such a shame that they discountinued her dress, I wouldn't know what to do :scared1:
House hunting has been fun but I will warn you its crazy stressful. I feel like one day we are totally cemented on wanting one thing and the next day its like oh maybe its not important haha...just back and forth but I can't lie it will be wonderful to actually call a place home.

Hi there!
I'm new to your PJ, but just read through and wanted to say hi! Hi! :wave2:
I love your engagement story! Congrats! Excellent date, dress, and plans so far! Good luck with the rest of your planning!

House hunting is just not as fun as they say it is :scared1: It's been seriously taking up ALL of my time!
But that hasn't stopped me from doing some wedding stuff! :thumbsup2
So first, Marshalls is the best store in the world. That being said, let me explain why...
We are going to have at max 50 guests...so we of course need favor boxes. I found pink (the shade we wanted) favor boxes by Brides magazine for the amount we needed for drumroll please...7 DOLLARS. These pretty much are as close of a picture as I could find just imagine pink. It comes with the bow too! I think i am going to do little green Mickey heads on the corner!
http://i899.photobucket.com/albums/ac194/Disneydiva84/something_blue_linen_favor_box.jpg?t=1267412868
Then I was looking around home goods and what do I see? Disney Collectibles! I have the Pluto which I paid decent money for but I've never been any kind of dedicated collector. HOWEVER I do know that they have AMAZING Cinderella statues which is fine by me :lovestruc
So I'm thinking there is no way they have something like that in Marshalls for a discounted price WRONG!!! :yay:
Behold the amazinginess of my cake topper
http://i899.photobucket.com/albums/ac194/Disneydiva84/4004837-disney-cake-topper.jpg?t=1267413001
And the great part is the prince's hair isn't black (which it usually is) but brown like Alex's. it's perfect! We still have to see what cake we would like under it but still :)
I also received the call from my Wedding Planner Maxinne AND the Save the Dates went out! SO EXCITED!!!!

Just joining in. Congrats and what a sweet proposal story! You guys make such a cute couple. I wish I knew about the CP when I was in school, it seems like so much fun!
Congrats on getting your dates and scheduling your PS. You look beautiful in your dress, very princessy and I totally would not have tried on my dress either from the way it looked on the hanger but once I put it on I loved it!
Beautiful cake topper! I didn't know home goods had Disney collectibles...I may have to check that out. I've recently discovered WDCC things and just love them!
Looking forward to hearing more of your plans. Good luck on the house hunting, it is really stressful but so worth it when you find the right house...then more stressful when you have to actually pay for it, lol! It is really exciting though! :goodvibes

We're getting married in 7 MONTHS!!!
Okay I just had to say it...yikes that is really soon! Thank goodness I did a lot of pre-planning and then did a lot that frist week because between house and JOB hunting I am way too emotionally overdosed at the moment.
Note on the job: I didn't get fired or anything crazy like that but lets just say I've had a lot of bad thank you days and not enough good ones. I'm pretty much spent. However on a lighter note I did find a great opportunity (thought it will mean going to back to even crazier hours than Disney, even though I didn't mind seeing as it was for the mouse :worship:) I am just a firm believer in the fact that a job is something you choose to do and that choice should not make you want to cry or scream or punch pillows due to intense frustration :thumbsup2 So fingers are crossed, I should find out on Friday and then I can put in my two weeks :cool1: Another plus to a new job is that obviously vacation isn't something that I am probably getting since it is going from salary back to hourly (at least not for a year) However, since i'm getting married and the trips are already planned I GET THE TIME OFF! can't beat that so i'm very happy!
Planning Session countdown is less than a month away now! We are getting so excited, it's going to be so much fun! We are working on our planning guide now...all these descions are making me sleepy :surfweb: but in a good way!

Hello everyone,
I'm so sorry I haven't posted in awhile. I've been completely swamped between house hunting, MY NEW JOB!, quitting my old job :thumbsup2, and the weeding. Seriously my dentist told me I was grinding my teeth from stress so that must mean something is going on ha
Anyhooo onto the wedding news!
Our Planning Session is in TWO WEEKS!!!!:banana:
Honestly it came up so fast, I really don't know if I'm ready for it but that doesn't mean I'm not super excited for it! We are staying at the Pop Century which will be a welcome change considering we always seem to find ourselves at the All Star Resorts. The Session is scheduled for April 9th from 1-5pm. We won't be able to do a menu tasting since our reception is in the CA Grill however cake will be available which in my world makes up for it :)
We also were finishing our planning kit this past weekend when we thought...hmmm we haven't cemented our officiant yet....might want to do that :scared1:
So we called Pastor Luther first since one of my friends who got married in Disney used him and loved him. Seriously sweetest person I think I have ever talked to on the phone. He used gosh, golly, and oh my more times than i can count...so cute. But alas he was booked for our date....
ON to choice number two...Reverend Knox. Now I had heard good and bad things about him but I went ahead and called anyway because he was the person I heard the most about. He was very sweet on the phone and had our date available :worship: so we were set! He sent over a 54 PAGE document on ceremonies that we could look at and we spent the past few days building our own. We are pretty easy going and I am super traditional when it comes to wedding ceremonies so that part was very easy. Although to be honest it was definitely an eye opener. The whole time i was thinking oh my gosh, i'm going to be saying these words for real in a little over six months! :bride:
Since I'm quitting my job and moving onto hopefully much greener pastures, I realized this was a good time to make use of that awesome color printer in the office. So I worked on the welcome packets that we will be using. Unfortunately I cannot show any of them just yet, but no worries. Pictures will be on their way soon :) I think we will be building the folders just to get things out of the way. One less thing to worry about!
We are both so excited for the Planning Session, I honestly can't wait!
More updates on the way, hope everyone is doing great!

Hey guys!
I've been working at my new job this week and going home sick on my second day of training...yuck
However, although I still am not eating (that could be good for the engagement photo diet if i was in control of it which i'm not) I am so excited because....
Our Planning Session is 1 week from tomorrow and we leave 1 week from today!!!!!
I can't believe it's so close! Alex and I are so excited for the time back at Disney. We look forward to all our trips but this one is extra special AND we get to use our gift from DFTW that arrived last week :) YAY!
Welcome packet pictures will be on their way soon as soon as I put one together that is :) here's what I think they will include though
Welcome Bag
Off white tote-with Pink Mickey Tag saying names-at least the tote will be reusable and on ebay we found some that were a dollar or so a piece.
Welcome folder-this will include everything i printed the other day :)
Mickey Rice Krispy Treats with pink and green sprinkles- Alex and I make these as they are our favorite thing to buy in the parks so tasty
bottles of water
chapsticks
anti-bacterial gel
kleenex
We have one little girl coming so i think i'm going to do something special for her, maybe a Cinderella crown and an autograph book in her own princess bag. It will be her first time at Disney World and I'm so excited for her! She's three :)
More updates on the way and TONS of pictures once we go to the PS
Talk to ya real soon!

So now I am totally caught up! Your engagement story is so adorable - it completely made me teary!
I hope you have an awesome time at your planning session!!! Can't wait to hear how it goes!
Makes sure if there are any specific cake flavors you want to try to request them for the tasting.
Also there seems to be some debate as to whether or not you can pay to have a mock up of your floral done. I would def ask about it - at least for your personal floral. If they are willing to do it - trust me it would be worth every penny.
If you get Laura please tell her I said hi!
Have fun!!!!

So I got to talk to my NEW wedding planner today...keyword being new
Apparently there are so many weddings on 10.10.10 that they had to do some re-organizng. I don't mind much but my old wedding planner is still going to do my PS on Friday since it was already booked and my new Wedding planner has a wedding that day. Thankfully it is in the WP so she can stop by. Honestly i'm cool with it I just would like to at least meet her
The call went really well oherwise, and we discussed the Rehearsal Dinner. Since I stole Alex's idea for the Napa Room (his 1st choice) for the Reception I told him to think of other ideas. His Dad really wants to do a slideshow so a private room is a preference. They suggested the Attic and the Nutcracker ballroom at the Contemporary which I had never thought of. :thumbsup2 I really like the Attic since it's got a very homely feel to it and am not a fan of ballrooms so hopefully we will go with the Attic (min is 2500 and we would have about 25 people)
Here are some pictures! I think it will be really cool AND BONUS!! We can see Illuminations from the patio!
http://i899.photobucket.com/albums/ac194/Disneydiva84/Engagement%20and%20Disney%20College%20program%20pi ctures/Attic2.jpg?t=1270595780

They emailed the menus over and we are going to take a look at them!

Hey everyone!
I'm back! Though I gotta say I wish we weren't. It was so beautiful there per the usual ;) But I really love being there. Currently I'm just trying to catch up :surfweb:
Let's get started then!
DAY 1- Studios/Francks!/and Magic Kingdom
We arrived at Pop Century and I was so happy to see that we were in the 1950's building! Lady and the Tramp were right outside our window
http://i899.photobucket.com/albums/ac194/Disneydiva84/IMG_3345.jpg?t=1271171800
And for breakfast what better than Mickey Rice Krispy Treats? We love them:love:
http://i899.photobucket.com/albums/ac194/Disneydiva84/IMG_3348.jpg?t=1271171893
So after that we headed out to Studios!
DisneyDiva84
04-13-2010, 10:26 AM
Moving on to Studios!
First things first...we exchanged our awesome gifts from DFTW :thumbsup2 I was so excited to get started!
http://i899.photobucket.com/albums/ac194/Disneydiva84/IMG_3350.jpg?t=1271172228
Since I used to work in Tower/Coaster/and Fant I am not a huge Coaster fan...you hear the same six songs for 8 months straight its bond to happen :rolleyes1 however...Alex loves it so we went on anyway
http://i899.photobucket.com/albums/ac194/Disneydiva84/IMG_3355.jpg?t=1271172283
Then at Tower we ran into a lot of our friends who work there full time. One was kind enough to let us ride by ourselves. It was pretty funny watching the look on everyone's faces who were still in the line. They were like dude? what is going on here :confused3 I loved it! Alex got to ride by himself all the time when he worked there after the shift but it was my first time so i was going crazy :yay:
http://i899.photobucket.com/albums/ac194/Disneydiva84/IMG_3358.jpg?t=1271172334
But enough park time! It was time for our Planning Session before we knew it! So off to the site visit at the Contemporary we go!
DisneyDiva84
04-13-2010, 10:55 AM
So our Wedding Planner was great enough to arrange a visit to the Contemporary prior to the Planning Session
Sonoma Room views- Cocktail hour/dancing/cake cutting.
We loved that you could see Epcot from the windows
http://i899.photobucket.com/albums/ac194/Disneydiva84/IMG_3367.jpg?t=1271173804
From the other direction you could see Islands of Adventure and Universal and downtown Orlando
http://i899.photobucket.com/albums/ac194/Disneydiva84/IMG_3368.jpg?t=1271173939
The view of the room. Its all cluttered now but everything will be moved out for dancing! I am a HUGE FAN of having the dancing be at the center of view so this will be perfect! http://i899.photobucket.com/albums/ac194/Disneydiva84/IMG_3369.jpg?t=1271174041
Our wedding planner, MAXINNE, is in the corner of the picture. I still can't believe we didn't get a single picture of her together lol...oh well next time :)
We were so happy when she said she could still be our planner

Moving on to the Napa Room and the bridge with the view
The Napa Room will be where we will be having lunch. A few things to note about our reception which are AMAZING
1. They let us remove the desserts on the pre-set menu making the cost per person a little bit less (how much less I won't know until we get the BEO but lower) I figured if we are paying a lot for a wonderful cake, why would we need more desserts? :confused3
2. They let us combine the two minimums for each room so that we are making the min as a total and not seperatly this allowed us to have the bar offered in both areas :thumbsup2
Napa Room!
http://i899.photobucket.com/albums/ac194/Disneydiva84/IMG_3377.jpg?t=1271193992
We are going to have access to the bridge during the reception (weather permitting) But it's really gorgeous so fingers are crossed. And you can hear whatever is going on at the time in the park, so we could hear the Move it Shake it parade when we were up there
Some views from the bridge

I was super excited!
http://i899.photobucket.com/albums/ac194/Disneydiva84/IMG_3379.jpg?t=1271204242
Side note, I loved that the rooms were all named after Sleeping Beauty's faries, ours was in Flora :)
I loved walking around to see everything available. I had been in Franck's before on a property tour for GR however this time was different since it truly was about my day :) I was seriously on cloud nine :cloud9:
We talked about so much stuff, i like to think i'm pretty easy going. I picked my bouquet and our cake within twenty minutes or so which was actually surprising. But they really did work with us to keep us in line for our budget! LOVED IT
http://i899.photobucket.com/albums/ac194/Disneydiva84/IMG_3382.jpg?t=1271205111
This wasn't the bouquet I chose but i thought it was pretty. Alex made me and the florist gasp when he suggested I use my bouquet as the tos bouguet!
I made Alex take a picture with the big cake

The lovely cream section-truly the stars of the show
http://i899.photobucket.com/albums/ac194/Disneydiva84/IMG_3387.jpg?t=1271210878
I loved the Tropical Cream but Alex hated it :mad:so sadly it was a no go
Without Further Ado...our beautiful cake
http://i899.photobucket.com/albums/ac194/Disneydiva84/Ribbon_with_Chocolate_Scroll_Wor-1.jpg?t=1271211874
Here are the details
Color: Green ribbon to match the bridesmaid
Silver: Main Accents
Pink: Little dotted accents
Flavors:
Bottom Layer: Chocolate with White Chocolate Cream
Middle: Almond Cake with Armeretto Cream
Top: Carrot Cake, I wanted Red Velvet but actually didn't like it so
Alex won the round...i only let him because i'm going for the
other two layers
I actually am thinking about using our cake topper on our sweetheart table as a centerpiece since i don't think it will work for our cake since we are doing colors to match the scheme and the topper has a gold look to it
Coming soon! Hair and Make Up Trial and Engagement shots

:goodvibes Patricia Lejune is AWSOME:goodvibes
Now that I've got that out of my system, if you have not booked her for your wedding and need someone please give her a call. She was a little late due to a wedding that morning but we weren't in a terrible rush so that made it okay however all that was forgiven when she began
She was supper easy chat with and the two hours literally flew by. We tried the fake eyelashes but honestly I didn't really like them. My make upee was pretty natural and soft so the eyelashes were a little too much.
Before shot: (ps the light in the room did wonders for the color of my skin, who knew i could go yellow?)

It looks a little plain now because i haven't decided which accessories to use yet :)
And to make me love her anymore (as if she needed any help) she took down my bridal style when Alex was still in the shower so he wouldn't see and styled it for my engagement photos! Talk about a carefree prep process :) I'm really happy with the style for the wedding i think it will be great!

So after my hair and make up trial it was off to the Grand Floridian to meet Randy Chapman :cool1:
He actually reminded me of my dad except with long hair and a tad bit skinnier ;) He really put Alex and I at ease. We don't have all the pics yet but he did send over about 16 and our favorites are below!

Randy was FANTASTIC! He really put us at ease and had some really great ideas for poses. It was really windy that day and he worked with my hair making sure he placed us where it wasn't in my face for every picture which seems silly but was so awesome.
I can't wait for him to shoot the big day, and BONUS he's actually VERY reasonable. I'm getting him for the entire day (minus the three hours of the ceremony, I have to use Disney since its in a park) for 1600 and that includes all rights to reproduction etc. The engagement session was 175 which i think was entirely worth it and i've only seen 16 pics so far :cool1:
If you need anything else or have any further questions just let me know i am more than happy to help

Thank you so much, it was a ton of fun and we seriously were on a bit of planning overload  but in a good way of course
Why aren't you going to be able to go down? If your mom says it's a go i would definitely go as it was so great getting to know our wedding planner on top of everything else and it was very helpful getting feedback on a one-to-one basis. That being said though I know they do them over the phone too so maybe you could do that?
Either way I wish you the best! When are you getting married? :bride:

I live in Canada, so I it is quite a commute for a meeting! Up until now I have done my sessions over the phone. While I would love to go down to plan, I think that I would rather use the money that we would spend (on flights, hotel, food, etc.)for the wedding instead. So I will just live through all of you lucky ones who live near by lol

THank you so much! Randy is fantastic and was so much fun to work with i definitely feel like i've made the right choice, i'm sure you will too :woohoo:. And he's been working with Disney for the past decade so he knows all the planners very well and better yet knows tips for the big day since he has done so many :) it always helps to get outsider tips :thumbsup2
Patricia LeJune did my hair and make up and also was a joy to work with. I was VERY happy with the results (i used the airbrush make up) it lasted for seriously the entire day which was great

Your engagement photos are INCREDIBLE. We are using Randy too but we can't afford to go down for a planning session/engagement photos - seeing yours totally made me 150% confident that I made the right choice with Randy. Seriously...they are the nicest ones I have seen on the DIS so far.
I love the way Patricia did your hair, too! I'm glad your PS trip was such a success - the cake sounds so yummy! I can't wait to read more!

Thank you! Randy seriously is so awesome! I know it's not always the easiest to pick someone you have never met, we were anxious to meet him too :) but honestly he was so easy to work with and VERY laid back, half the time we found ourselves looking around to see where he was shooting from. He wasn't always in our faces telling us how to pose which was great! And the ideas he did give were great! We really had a fantastic time! You will not be disappointed
And Patricia was simply put a joy to work with, if you haven't picked your hair and make up person i would highly recommend her as well :cutie:
Keep me posted on your updates, i'm sorry that you couldn't go to FL but i'm sure they will make your day spectacular and beautiful!

Hello everyone! Our floral budget arrived today, it is a little above what i expected but i think its going to work really well!
Bridal Bouquet:
Round, French bouquet of white roses, green hydrangea, pink stargazer lilies and stephanotis with clear Swarovski crystal (10)
Wrap stems 75% with white satin and accent with 1 clear Mickey Swarovski crystal closure
275.00 for boquet
10 crystals at 1.00 each 10.00
Mickey Closure 3.00
Maid of Honor and Bridesmaids
Round, French bouquet of medium pink (see swatch) hydrangea and pink stargazer lilies with accents of green hydrangea.
Wrap stems 75% with #570 Moss satin ribbon and accent with 1 Mickey Swarovski crystal on handle for Maid of Honor only (its a surprise for her:goodvibes).
135.00 each (4) + 3.00 for Mickey closure on MOH
Groomsmen and my future hubby :bride:
Hubby to be:
White rose with ruscus. Accent with 1 clear Mickey Swarovski crystal.
13.50
Groomsmen:
Medium pink rose with ruscus.
10.50 each (4)
These will also be given to the Dad's and my two Grandpas (4)
Mom's and Grandma's
WRIST- Pink spray roses with filler, greens and TBD sheer ribbon.
26.00 (4)
Decor
Ceremony
Sprinkle medium pink rose petals on altar table.
1 at 15.00
I kept the ceremony pretty simple since Italy is so beautiful to begin with. And we kept the chairs epcot provides since the black actually looks better than the stark white ones we thought we would be using. Yay for picture day :cool1:
Pre-Reception/Cocktail hour
Medium pink and green rose petals on guest book and place card table.
11 tables total
20.00 each
Reception
Medium pink and green rose petals on sweetheart table and (5) rounds.
20.00 each
We again kept it really simple since it is a daytime reception I didn't think we would need much. We are going to provide framed pictures and storybooks for the centerpieces and use the CA Grill linens
I thought we would do chair covers but we decided against..again in an effort to keep in budget
Subtotal: 1,387.50
Tax: 90.19
Grand Total: 1,477.69
We may alter things a tiny bit but we'll see when the BEO comes in

So I've decided to make a few changes to my bouquet!
My florist was kind enough to send me over the picture of the one I had decided on at my planning session to use as a base. I wanted it to look similar but to make it also my own :wizard:
http://i899.photobucket.com/albums/ac194/Disneydiva84/SmithMurpurgo4.jpg?t=1272593986
The changes I'm making:
Adding
White Roses
White Stephanolopolis with crystals
Green Hydrangea
Pink Asiatic Lillies
So instead of the Star Gazer Lillies I will be going with the Pink Asiatic Lillies which are below. There are no shadows which is great! I was really worried about that and they are more all around pink which i think will be a great accent piece

Oh my gosh it has been forever and a day since I last posted. Luckily with nearly only four months to go I should be posting a lot more from now on!
It's so crazy to think it's getting that close! it feels like just yesterday that the Disney Wedding Coordinator called! :dance3:
So INVITATIONS! They are on the way to us via mail and then they will be going out to our guests next week. They are a little un-traditional however that's the way we liked them! We searched all over the place for wedding invites that we liked but the disney ones we found were a little cheesy and the trademarked ones referred to us by Disney were super costly! Storkie Express was amazing because they let you customize everything. We actually used a bridal shower invitation and turned it into our wedding invite!
Without further ado
The Invitation

The Reply Card and envelope (pre-addressed)
http://i899.photobucket.com/albums/ac194/Disneydiva84/replycard.jpg?t=1274769468
Total cost:
For 30 invitations, envelopes (pre-addressed Calligraphy with our guests info), lined pink envelopes for the interior, and 30 reply cards....
145.15!!!!!!!:cool1::cool1::cool1:
Seriously if you have never gone on Storkie i highly recommend it! We love them because it looks like us only as animated characters!

That's our color too but we're using the DB clover color which is a little more pastel and lighter than yours but from one green lover to another you couldn't have picked a better color and the pinwheels were genius :woohoo:

:eek:YIKES!!!!
Invitations have officially gone out! I am so excited/nervous/and just all around happy!
They turned out soooo perfectly! I would post pictures of the envelope but addresses are on it so that's a no go lol. We decided to send them out in June because we wanted to make sure our guest list was solid. Since we had to cut so many people, we wanted to make sure that we would have plenty of time to let people we didn't invite know they could come :) Not everyone can plan a disney trip in a month :thumbsup2 that's just us disney lovers :)
I am thinking about getting my bridesmaids flip flops from David's Bridal since they will match but i am not sure yet
AND we officially booked our flights to Orlando today!
Arrive in Orlando: Wednesday, October 6th 7:05 PM
Depart Orlando to Chicago: Monday, October 11th 7:30 PM

Each page goes over the parks in detail and our schedule for the weekend. We recommended rides etc and gave more details about the wedding day. Those who are invited to the Rhearsal dinner will have an additional flyer on the first flap.
We also changed our cake topper. We didn't feel like Cindy and her prince would go with our chosen cake design for we went for a more modern look and have now decided to move the statue of Cindy to our table as the centerpiece :)

My big bridesmaid gifts came in today and I AM SO EXCITED :cool1:
This is what they are going to get so far:
Upon arrival to the hotel:
T-Shirt for EPCOT bachelorette around the world day (still need to make)
Ticket to EPCOT
Card that says how AMAZING i think they are
EPCOT wine charm
Rehearsal dinner:
Mickey Mouse earnings (for the wedding day)
PHOTOBOOK!
So after going crazy thinking of what to get them, I decided a photo book would be perfect. It truly sums up our friendships and since each friendship is unique it's the perfect way to unify the gifts and make they distinct at the same time. Snapfish had a great deal last week of buy one get one free so the total cost for the books with shipping was around 65.00!

I agree that the photo books are a great gift for your bridesmaids. I think that photos and written sentiments are a great way to let someone know how much they mean to you, and it is something that they can take out and look at any time that they are feeling down, or just would like a nice memory. And the earrings in the little boxes are so cute!

The photo books are great, I think the girls will love them! The earrings are so cute, I may have to go search ebay now. For the shirts you can do rhinestones, they are really time consuming and tedious to do...but they are sparkly and pretty! Or you can just buy the iron-on transfer paper and print out the image and that's much easier.

Thank you for the transfer paper idea i might just have to look into that! the idea was to call it something "trip around the world" and have a checklist of all the countries on the back that we could check it off as we went around so i just need to figure out the design :)

So more floral changes :)
Originally I had planned on naming the tables at the reception after Disney movies but now we are gong to do a more Storybook themed approach since we have been using "welcome to our fairytale" on everything.
Cinderella is my favorite not to mention a classic story so that works perfectly
We are going to use these as a main centerpiece (55.00 rental fee) for five tables and we are going to name the tables after parts of a story. We are just going to use the metal outline of the coach no floral or twinkle lights
http://i899.photobucket.com/albums/ac194/Disneydiva84/Coach.jpg?t=1277328404
The tables will be named as follows
1. Once Upon a Time
2. Classic Companions

I love the coaches!! I am going to have just one at my reception now because I love them so much I need them to be there lol But just a question for you, did you discuss the lack of floral with your planner? When I had my floral planner, they informed me that the reason the floral is there is because there is a little battery pack thing for the twinkle lights in there, and the flowers will hide it to make it look nicer. They told me that it was up to me what I chose, but if I didn't use floral, the black battery packs would be showing. I just wanted to share that incase you haven't discussed it with your planner.

Thank you! I was actually trying to remember where I got the idea for the Coach and it was you! SO you get a huge thank you :worship:
I actually am having them remove the twinkle lights entirely so there will be no battery pack would be needed :) Thank you for the tip though! I love them too i think they will go great , anyway to get Cinderella in there more is fine with me

Thank you for the transfer paper idea i might just have to look into that! the idea was to call it something "trip around the world" and have a checklist of all the countries on the back that we could check it off as we went around so i just need to figure out the design :)
Have you checked the 'Creative Disigns' board?
There are many very good around the world Epcot designs on there which you can just print off on t-shirt transfer paper and iron on. :thumbsup2

Bridesmaid T-Shirts
Welcome bags (finish)

Bridal Shower (attend) :cloud9: (not planning that, my MOH rules!)
Wedding Dress Alterations
Write Vows
Hotel Reservations (will be done this week)
Probably a bit more that i'm forgetting but that's a start :surfweb:
I am starting to get a case of excitement. So much to do and so little time to do it in. :cool1:

That is good that you knew about the twinkle lights and you can take them out. They will look so pretty! And the price is really great for what you get.
100 days already… time really does fly! There is definitely so much to do and so little time, but I hope that you really enjoy everything!

Thank you, I really have been loving the planning stuff! You are getting close too!! I really loved the pics from your shower, mine is in September and I cannot wait! My mom and I went back and forth on whether or not it was right to invite people and not invite them to the wedding but I figure its a way to celebrate with everyone and I would hate not to have one so why not right party:

Report from 1st fitting!
My apologies in advance that I don't have pictures, they were all on my mom's camera which is now on the train home :guilty:
I was really worried after reading reports from alterations at David's Bridal. I actually had my Mom and Grandma ready to go to battle should they have charged us over half the dress which is what some reports had claimed. I mean why budget for a cheap dress if you have to pay half of it just to be altered :confused3
Luckily I didn't have to worry about that. David's bridal was amazing. And the grand total only came to 220!
Hem: 120.00 I knew this was going to be the most expensive part because my dress has at least 7 layers underneath it.
Sides: 65.00 For as much as I was worried about the weight i had lost and it costing a fortune to take in this was a great price as far as i'm concerned.
Bussle: 35.00 By far the biggest surprise of them all! I couldn't believe it. I did an over bussle which looked gorgeous because it showed off the beading on my train. I was worried about the price but when she told me i about fell over.
All and all it was a great experience. Except all that standing wore me out! And everytime she stuck pins in the side of the dress i thought she was going to stab me for sure :scared1:But it was so great to actually feel like the dress fit me :bride:
Had so much fun...up next shoes

I am glad to hear that you had a good experience with David's and your fitting went well. I looked at dresses at David's and bought my crinoline there, and I had a really great experience there. It is too bad about the pictures - you know how we love them around here haha Hopefully you can show us some shoe pictures!

First, happy double digits! :cool1:
Glad the first fitting went well! That is great that the alterations didn't cost very much. My mom was commenting the other day on how surprised she was that my dress alterations were about the same price as yours. I had been concerned because I paid over $80 to have a bridesmaid dress altered two years ago :scared1: But I did have to have it taken out and the woman at Carolyn Allen's did a fabulous job, still $80 for alterations on an Alfred Angelo BM dress is a bit much lol
Oh and no worries about inviting people to the shower and not the wedding. Jackie held my shower at her house and invited a bunch of MKGR girls who didn't come to our wedding. It was just nice to hang out with all of them before the big day.

Thank you for the happy double digits! I'm getting excited for sure. I was so scared when I read online comments about DB and one of my bridesmaids had a real tough time in Arizona getting her dress. She ordered a two and they were like "oh i thought for sure you'd get the four, are you sure you don't wan the four..." :scared1: i Called and told them a thing or two in manners though. lol
I'm so excited for the shower i'm glad i'm having it. I think i would have been really sad later if i hadn't :) Hope you are doing well!

3 MONTHS TO GO!
I cannot believe I am going to be married three months from today! Time is going by so quickly. I was just telling Alex that time is really going to start flying because now we are in the same time frame as any of our other Disney trips. I honestly cannot wait! And we have so many exciting things headed our way!
July 23rd-25th: Bachelor and Bachelorette Weekends
Alex is going to Alabama to spend a weekend at the Lake with his guys and a group of my sorority sisters are coming to Chicago. This is technically the first of two bachelorette days for me because i am having another one two days before the wedding with my bridesmaids only.
August 3rd-5th: Trip home to STL
I am going home for my Maid of Honor's birthday and also to have her help me with some program building and such ;)
August 11th: Second fitting at DB
Hopefully I can postpone this another week because I want the dress done as close to the shower as possible
September 10th-12th: Shower in STL
We are also bringing everything wedding home at this point, so my parents can take it to Florida for us!
September 29th: Alex's birthday and LION KING
He has always wanted to see Lion King which is a fantastic show, and it opens in Chicago the night of his birthday!
October 6th: Leave for Florida!
So I have a feeling time is going to pass by VERY quickly starting now.

As promised here are the shoes! But let me explain the story first.
So I needed something that was pretty flat because Alex is only about two inches taller than me. And deep down, I gotta admit, Cinderella style shoes seemed pretty cool.
I found these at Macy's ON SALE for 21.50 and feel in love with them. They were everything I wanted except, they don't make them in half sizes. I wear a size 7 and 1/2 normally but can wear a seven or eight depending on the shoe. Well the 8 was way too big and the seven felt snug but okay. So I went with the seven. While staning for my fitting I realized just how snug they were. So now I am going to try my best in a few weeks to break them in around the house. If I can't before the 2nd dress fitting then the search will sadly be on again.
Here they are
http://i899.photobucket.com/albums/ac194/Disneydiva84/IMG_3503.jpg?t=1278775695
And a close up of the sparkles
http://i899.photobucket.com/albums/ac194/Disneydiva84/IMG_3502.jpg?t=1278775695
They look amazing with my dress, i really hope I can make them fit. And I really love the way they look exactly like glass slippers but still have the sandal feel i wanted
We shall see...

I can't believe it is actually time for my Bachelorette Party! :cool1:
Technically this is party 1 of 2. Since my four bridesmaids live in four different states I wanted to be sure that we had a day that we could share together. So we will be celebrating in Epcot two days prior to the wedding.
This party will be two of my bridesmaids and a few of my DZ sorority sisters! I'm so excited because I haven't seen a few of them in years! We will be out and about all over the city and I simply cannot wait!
Wish me luck!
On another note the to-do list for the wedding! I cannot believe we only have a few months to go! Alex and I divided it up by month to gain a better perspective on what needed to be done and when:
August:
2nd Wedding dress fitting
Wedding favor boxes
Alex's wedding ring, purchase :cool1:
Wedding Program research
September:
Bridal Shower: Sept 11th
Programs
Welcome bags
Deliver dress to St. Louis for car ride to Orlando
October:
Pack and go!
There's probably a ton more to do's but those are the biggies!

No problem, a sorority is a group/organization on a college campus and they are named in greek letters. SO you have things like Kappa Sigma, Theta Chi, ATO (my darling Hubby to be), Delta Zeta, gamma, etc....
Our sorority had 80 girls in it and we did everything together throughout college so they were the ones that organized this weekend for me :) I have met some of my lifelong friends through that organization :)

I completely forgot to post this!
A few weeks ago I spent some money at the Victoria Secret Semi Annual Sale....obviously I'm not going to post everything I bought for the honeymoon:angel: but there was one thing I did want to share :goodvibes
I love their swimsuits but some of them tend to be pricey, although they do last a long time so I'm not saying anything bad about them at all :thumbsup2

Thank you I actually originally had slated the California Grill for the reception however I backed out because I thought it would swallow our guests (50 people + huge room= :confused3)
SO long story short I went with the Napa and Sonoma, We are eating in Napa and then moving into Sonoma for dancing. One of my huge things was making sure everyone could see the dance space. And this way it will be the center of attention :)

You know, I'm only having 40 or so guests, and my biggest thing when I booked California Grill was that I wanted to have a nice dance floor. My consultant had only given me the option of Napa or the restaurant, and when we looked at photos of Napa, it was so small and I realized there'd be no room for dancing. I'm terrified that our party is going to be swallowed up in the huge restaurant, but I'm hoping we can figure something out. Either way, all of the views in the CG are beautiful, and that's one of the main selling points for us. :goodvibes

Oh gotcha, that was my fear too...I originally looked at Whitehall in GF but my fiance wouldn't go for it because he thought it would be too small and packed. I went back and forth with my planner for weeks because i was afraid of exactly what you are talking about being swallowed :scared1: She actually never told me about using both rooms either....I think they avoid that for some odd reason:confused3
However, Alex actually read on someone's wedding reports about using both the Napa and Sonoma and it actually should work like a charm :wizard: We will have lunch in Napa and then go to Sonoma for the dancing and since that will be the only purpose for that room everyone should be able to get down on the dance floor :woohoo:
Also it breaks up the lunch/dancing which at first I thought was odd but now i'm completely in love with it
Bottom line, no matter what you choose to do Disney will definitely make it work. THroughout the entire back and forth (there was a lot of it sadly lol, silly me not making up my mind) my planner was great at listening to what i needed etc...no worries either way your day will be perfect and everything you dreamed of...we get to see the castle after all remember :)

And i am going to start doing some preliminary program stuff too :)
Wish me luck!

It wouldn't be A.Waz. (abv first and last name) would it? She was in my sorority and still lives in Chicago! She's in the Bachelorette photos on the previous page and a complete sweetheart! I didn't know she was coming until the second she walked up!
We probably did! What major were you!?!?!?!?!?!
Yep, i'm pretty sure that's the same Ashely hehe.
I majored in history, what about you?

I finally got my bridesmaid jewelry and my hair pieces!
I went back and forth with getting them a necklace but decided their dress was fine without a necklace and went with getting them bracelets instead. These were so pretty and you can actually adjust them on your wrist to fit perfectly. AND BONUS! They were only 8 bucks a piece ;)
On the wrist

In the boxes ready to go. I found some boxes that match the ones their earings came in!
http://i899.photobucket.com/albums/ac194/Disneydiva84/IMG_3546.jpg?t=1281103153
I also found bridal hair stuff! I'm not sure which one I will be using, I think i'm going to go with the barrett because it matches the design on my dress perfectly.
Hair clip, that I love

Rehearsal dinner dress/shower outfit
finalize guest list/invite back ups if needed
buy final items for welcome bags
make rehearsal dinner itinary for welcome folders
2nd wedding dress fitting on the 25th
honeymoon final cruise payment due
September:
Make bridesmaid shirts for EPCOT

buy Mickey's Halloween Party tickets
Shower weekend:
Put together welcome bags
bring dress home for car ride to Orlando
Make placecards
Make programs
There's probably more but thats the major stuff I can think of right now
I'm getting so excited I cannot believe its coming up so fast!
Totally different note, I really can't stand people who don't know how to RSVP! I went through a ton of drama with my Dad's Stepmom because she couldn't understand why I couldn't invite my 13 step aunt's/uncles/cousins....so I finally work it out with my eldest cousin (whom I'm closest with) to invite the three members of her family. Not to mention I sent apologies to everyone else explaing the situation. Well the deadline to RSVP to the invitations I sent out the 1st of June was July 10th. It is now August 6th...no RSVP  my grandma is swearing they are going to go but are waiting to send in the invite ....why would you do that? :confused3
So I called my cousin last week to ask what was going on...no answer... I called again this week to say that if they don't let me knwo i'm going to take them off the list....I know its harsh but for someone I see once a year I just would rather invite people who were actually excited to attend...we shall see what happens...sigh drama drama drama....:sad2:

Everything is looking great, you have got a lot done! The favors are super cute! Sorry to hear about the RSVP drama. We had lots of issues with who we were/weren;t inviting also, and I think a lot of girls on here, or anyone having a Destination wedding for that matter do. I don't think it's being to harsh because you have given them planty of time to decide. At $125 a person you can't risk paying for someone who isn't doing to show, not to mention I'm sure it's dealying a lot of your plans, such as how many favors to make. People will get over it, you have to do what you have to do.

The favors turned out great, I love the Mickey design on the box! Ah the to do list, my advice would be to try to do a little each week, don't be like me and trying to finish up a bunch of DIY stuff a week before the wedding :rotfl:. It'll really be here before you know it! :goodvibes
I'm sorry you're going through all that with the RSVP's. I definitely agree with you. I feel like with a destination wedding especially people pretty much know right away if they're going or not. I don't get why it is so hard to send back an rsvp :confused3.

Thank you guys! Alex was like, "you are puffy painting the favors???" Men have no view on creativity lol but I really think they turned out fun ;)
I'm going to call my Grandma sometime early this week and try to make her understand the situation that I really actually can't wait until September for them to RSVP hopefully that will work but who knows :confused3 In addition she has yet to call me back after three (count them) three phone calls. I just dont' understand how you can put off the RSVP because you aren't sure you can go and then suddenly decide you can and plan a trip within a month...we Disney nuts are the only ones allowed to do that lol and they are not Disney nuts
We shall see :goodvibes until then I will just keep working on stuff and hoping that they come to some sort of sense

PRINCESS LUNCH!!
So being the princess fanatic that I am, I have actually never been to an official Princess Meal. I have actually only been to 1900 Park Fare with Cinderella. When I went to the Castle it was prior to them making it a Princess Dinning experience so needless to say I never really found a reason to fight the reservations much less take an experience away from a little girl or a family.
Anyhoo that's all about to change! My bridesmaids and I + 3 sorority sisters who I recentely invited to the Wedding will be going to the Princess Lunch in Norway on our day at EPCOT!!!! I am so beyond excited because I think we are going to have a blast! Fingers are crossed that Cinderella is in attendance that day. I know they say she's not (that's what they told us as CM's in GR too) because you can't really guaranttee her but that's another story lol
I'd also love to see Ariel simply because I rarely meet her. So my first picks would be Belle, Cindy, Ariel, and Snow fingers are crossed.
It's going to be a great girl's day i cannot wait :lovestruc

Definitely look at Marshalls, they had so many great deals! If you can't find them there, Micheals has them too but they are a little bit more (still cheap though ;) )
I can't believe the wedding is getting so close! It's crazy but exciting all at the same time. Stay tuned I will definitely be posting more and more as it gets closer, there is still so much to do. I can't wai to hear more about your day too! Its so exciting

:banana:We finally went to Michael's!
We had so much left to do and I feel soooo much better knowing that a lot of it is on the way to being finished!
1st up UNITY CANDLE!
Since the wedding is outside we had to have hurricane glasses around whichever candles we chose. I couldn't find any taper candle arrangements that I liked so we thought why not use tea lights? Alex actually spotted these great candle holders at Crate and Barrel. And then we found the stones at Michaels for 59 cents! Gotta love the clearence section, especially when they have stuff in our colors!
Final look

Close up of sides
http://i899.photobucket.com/albums/ac194/Disneydiva84/IMG_3557.jpg?t=1281887824
The tapers will be originally lit using our memorial candle which I think is a great touch. And then we will light the tapers using our seperate candles which have been lit by our moms to light the center.
#2 T-Shirts
This was a lot more difficult. Who knew I needed so many D's :confused3 Since I needed 8, I needed four packets of letters so pricing was a little difficult at first. We found the silver ones (using for bridesmaid shirts) for 3.59and the colored ones (for me) were 4.59 not too bad :) I will only be using the pink on the multi-color ones since purple isn't one of my colors but the pink is an exact match to the bridesmaid shirts so i'm very happy
http://i899.photobucket.com/albums/ac194/Disneydiva84/IMG_3565.jpg?t=1281887824
#3 FRAME!
We had been searching for a guest book frame, I love those! But we couldn't find any that we liked. We had never seen these before and BONUS it was 40percent off! I love it! Our engagement photo will go in the center
http://i899.photobucket.com/albums/ac194/Disneydiva84/IMG_3563.jpg?t=1281887824
#4 Welcome bags
We got these bags for our welcome bags. I don't think the welcome folder will fit in there, if it doesn't I will just make sure they hand out a welcome folder with each bag.
http://i899.photobucket.com/albums/ac194/Disneydiva84/IMG_3564.jpg?t=1281887824
#5 Programs!
I was going to make my own programs but honestly I don't think I'm going to have much time :guilty: I had been going back and forth with the idea of fan programs and we found these at Michaels. All we have to do is create what needs to go on each one and we are done! I love it because we will be able to add Mickey or Cinderella in any way we need to! And again, we got 40 percent off YAY:cool1:

I can't believe it's taken me this long to find your PJ, but I love it! Your plans look awesome and I think I'll be using a TON of your ideas because they all look so great! I hope you don't mind.
I'm getting married in Epcot on June 19th and have been worrying about my timeline for the morning of the wedding. I'm exited to read your TR once you get back from your wedding! I couldn't schedule my PJ until 4 months out to my wedding due to my fiance's work schedule. So I'm trying to get as much info and stuff done as I can before my PS because it will be down to the wire once we get back.
I've been toying around with the idea of getting engagement photos but yours have made me want to take the plunge and just go for it. I love them!!! I think your photos convinced my fiance too!

You are so sweet! Thank you
Yay for another EPCOT BRIDE! :dance3: I was really worried too because there are not a ton of us out there so there aren't a ton of PJ's to read to find out timelines unless you luck out and find an am bride. I will definitely be posting a thread so you can get an idea how the morning went. From the way PS went it seems like the morning will go really smoothly. They are delivering the floral at like 5:30 in the morning lol. But I doubt i'll get much sleep anyway :bride:
And don't worry about your PS being a little closer to the wedding trust me when I say it actually helps, I was worried ours was too far out. So either way it will be a blast!
And definitely get engagement photos! We used Randy Chapman and he was so fantastic. But honestly for 300 bucks its a great way to 1. get photos of the two of you to use in whatever pre-wedding events you do and 2. to do a test run with your photographer to make sure you like the style :cutie:
Definitely feel free to steal away, I love the boards for that very reason :woohoo:
And congrats on your wedding to!

I actually thought about doing their initials on the bag too but the fabric is really thin so I didn't know if they'd stick well.
I love everything so far!!! CUTE SHIRTS!! I love the idea of giving them a ticket to a fun activity for you girls to do together!! I would LOVE to do this with my girls!!!
When are you planning on going with the girls to epcot??
Thanks! I had a few tickets left over from when i was a CM and kept them on hold in case I had a wedding there lol. But honestly I think I would have gotten the ticket regardless, it just would have been their only gift next to the jewelry lol. But honestly its nice knowing they don't have to worry about the ticket that day and I know they appreciate it ( i had to tell them in advance so they didn't pre-buy them lol)
We are going to be going to the EPCOT Food and Wine Festival which should be a blast! you should definitely do that with the girls if you can!

I'm finding this really late but I love your plans! Your dress is beautiful and I love that you have a subtle but cohesive theme for the day, I'm still working on that part! You're so close now, you must be so excited!

You've been busy! I love the tank tops...I've been thinking of making something similar for when I ask my bridal party and I actually starting designing Team Bride shirts last night..I wasn't really feeling them but I LOVE the idea of buying the iron on transfer stickers. So much easier! I may have to take a trip to Michaels' this weekend!

Thank you so much for reading! It's always nice to know people are following along :goodvibes
I have my second dress fitting tomorrow and I cannot wait to put it on where it actually fits :bride:
The theme actually took some time for me too but honestly just stick to what you love. I went with movies at first but really love fairytales so I finally decided after much debate to do that, and honestly i can say I love it and am very happy with the decision so definitely that would be my biggest piece of advice. Besides its always easier to work on things like placecards and programs when you love the theme and want to show it off :) Definitely getting so excited

Yes i have been busy lol...we have to get everything done that we aren't taking in our suitcases by the shower in St. Louis in two weeks so my parents can drive it down :scared1: So it's been a bit crazy to say the least lol
The iron-on letters were very easy to use I highly recommend them :) Thank you for the t-shirt love;) after all the work it took to figure out not to use the word bridesmaid its definitely appreciated

I keep having these crazy dreams though. last night i dreamt it was the night of the wedding and Disney told me I couldn't have the Napa Room or Sonoma for my reception lol...we ended up having it in the Hat courtyard at Studios so I guess this wouldn't be a nightmare but still... :headache:

So we got our first gifts off our registry today and I just had to share because it is such a fun story
Alex's sister is currently serving the US Navy in Japan. Our first plan was to have her in the wedding as a bridesmaid. But sadly, since it is her first year in service, even as an officer she cannot get the leave necessary to be there for our wedding. Alex is more upset than I think he lets on but he seems to have gotten to a point where it is okay. I actually let him pick one of his friends to take his sister's place on my side so that way he would have someone stand up for him like my brother was for me :)
And so here we are nearly one month away and yesterday I get a message saying we have 5 packages downstairs. I go down and there were these C&B boxes waiting for me.
http://i899.photobucket.com/albums/ac194/Disneydiva84/IMG_3576.jpg?t=1283450872
I open the card and seriously about cried....
"Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. ........
Omedetgozaimasu .....-san! Love the ........"
I was so touched. It was all our plates and serving bowls, we are so excited. Her birthday is Saturday so we are going to Skype with her and let her know how much we appriciated it. Just thought it was a good story to share :goodvibes

:tink: Song Selections for the Ceremony :tink:
I finally made Alex sit down and pick songs for the ceremony today. We are finishing our programs next week so we had to pick them out sometime lol
Guest Seating:
Disney Fairytale Weddings CD
Grandparents/Mothers/Unity Candle:
Someday my Prince will Come- Jim Brinkman Disney Songbook
Bridal Party:
Define Dancing- Wall-E
Bride Entrance:
When you wish upon a Star- Cinderella Castle Goodnight theme
Major Domo/Rings:
A Dream is A Wish your Heart Makes-Cinderella
Exit:
Ever Ever After- Carrie Underwood/Enchanted
Alex fought with me a little bit over the exit because it was "so country" but honestly it sets the tone for our reception so I don't see how he has an arguement :thumbsup2 Plus its a fun song to walk out to :)
