We did DxDp last year. While we got to try out a lot of places, we got really tired of having to be somewhere. One of the reasons we bought DVC was to slow down and relax on our vacations. Decided to do DDP this year, thought we could handle 1 ADR a day. Now, I am almost afraid we'll miss it. I keep reminding myself we'll be glad we have the flexibility during our days, we were stuffed, rushing from place to place last year.....

Then I remember all those frozen lemonades in the heat of the summer, cool places to eat w/o fighting for a table, yummy apps.

Just not sure it's worth $100 more/day for my family of 4. Last year, the girls were 9 and 2, so at 10 and 3 this year, the price reallly jumped!

I just tried the DxDP for the first time last September and loved it. But it was a quick 5 day trip and it was just DH and I. There are still some signatures that I would like to try, but I am doing the regular dining plan on my next trip. I think I would be stuffed doing to deluxe for more than 4 nights/5 days. Will I miss it? Not sure.

I think if you are really afraid you might miss it, why not add one or two breakfast/lunch meals OOP. You would probably still be saving some money, but getting a few more sit downs. That is what we are doing on our May DVC trip. We have one extra sit down planned OOP.

I will do the DxDP again, but probably only during free dining. Yeah - I am DVC, but I don't have that many points so I plan to combine short free dining stays with DVC stays in the future. Best of both worlds, IMHO.

We don't miss it at all. We did the deluxe twice, just to make sure that it was too much food, too much running around, etc. We found it was. Now we use our villa to have breakfast and do one TS a day (sometimes lunch and sometimes dinner).

We love how it changed the pace of our vacations. We still enjoy Disney food, just not as much of it. In fact, we don't do any type of dining plan so that we are free to order appetizers, skip desserts, etc.
