We will be staying in this room. Does anyone have any pictures or information on this room? obstructed views, etc. There are 5 of us. Thanks.

Clear views all the way. Nothing you need to be warned about.

The first "D" stands for "Dear", "Darling", or "Disney".

"S" = Son
"D" = Daughter
"H" = Husband
"W" = Wife

If a number is appended to an abbreviation, it is the age of your child. So, my 5-year-old son would be my DS5.

Ressies are reservations. You'll engage in the "Ressies Scramble" when you first board to get preferred reservations for Palo and the Vista Spa.

You should enjoy this stateroom-- we were in 8056 (with other family members in 8054, 8058, and 8060) on the Magic a few weeks ago and loved the location of these rooms, which are between the aft and midship stairs/elevators. It's a very quick walk up to Topsiders, the 24-hour drink station, and all the other stuff on Deck 9 (pools, fast food, ping pong, etc.).

We thought it might be noisy with so much activity going on above us, but we heard NO noise in the room itself. From the verandah we could hear people running/walking on the deck above, chairs being moved, etc., but it was never annoying.

Our only "complaint" was that the starboard side of the ship had better views (of the harbor) while we were in port at St. Maarten and St. Thomas. But I guess you can't have everything!

Thanks for the responses. What is the "starboard" side of the ship. Is it just the opposite side of the boat?

Starboard is the right side of the ship as you're facing forward. Port is the left side of the ship. An easy way to remember which is which is that "port" and "left" both have four letters.

We were in 8062 and had no problems. Sitting on the verandah you hear some noise from deck 9, but not a lot. It's a great location. Enjoy your cruise.
