I tried using the search function but had no luck. Can anyone post any links to some pics of value rooms and balcony views?

Just got back from a 9 night stay at a 2BR value. I'll dig through pics to see if any really show the inside of the room (honestly, I'm not even sure I have any!). As for the balcony, however, as far as I know, it's identical to any other balcony at AKV. The difference between a value room and a standard/savanna room is that the value rooms are slightly smaller (distance from entry door to balcony door is shorter by a few feet)

I stayed in a value studio last June. It was an end unit so the balcony was bigger and you had a closet by the door for storage. 2 adults stayed for 2 nights, it wasn't bad, my DD thought 2 with one small person could easily do a week staying there.

Balcony is at the end, so it's open and a little bigger plus it feels bigger.

We've had a few weekend stays in value studios/1 bedrooms and we think that they are definitely "values." Enjoy your stay!

I have stayed in a value studio 3 times at AKL. You will love it. Yes the room is a little bit smaller but they are in a great location. You couldn't be closer to the pool, lobby, Mara and bus area. I think that you will really enjoy it. Jambo house is a great hotel.

We stayed in a 2br Value in Oct... IIRC, it was 23 points for a weeknight in a a 2br in 2009. It was an absolute stealI have some pics that I will try to post later today. We had a SV and I would book it again in a heartbeat if given the chance!

I would love to see any pictures you have of the room. I am thinking of trying to book a value 2 bedroom for June.

....From our Value 1BR in June....

The values are THE best kept secret...especially with a view like this. In 2009, we got this 1BR view for 5 nights for 95 points! Absolutely perfect for our family of 4 with only a 100-pt. contract:banana:.

Thank you all!!! The pics are really great. So if there are 8 pool views, 8 Savannah views, 2 parking lot views then what are my chances of NOT getting a parking lot view?

I called Member Services yesterday to put my names on my reservation and to request savannah view. When I made my request the nice lady on the phone told me there were no savannah views and that if I wanted that I would have to book a savannah view room.

As nicely as I could I informed her that yes there were 4 2bdr savannah views, 4 2 bdr pool views and two parking lot views. I hope I didn't offend her. I do plan on calling back tomorrow to request they send a paper confirmation.

Does member services have the capibility yet to email confirmations?

I could be wrong but value room reservations are the booking category in which you have a chance of getting Savannah, pool or parking lot views. These requests are not guaranteed. To be sure you get a guaranteed Savannah room you have to book that category, and it will cost more points than the value reservation.

I don't believe that they do.

Your reply is exactly what I was told when I was exploring booking a value AKV for my upcoming trip. To get a "definite savanah view" since it is a booking category and more points, you must request it in your reservation. A value room is like a grab bag---you never know what you are going to get. But the point value is a fantastic feature.:wizard:

I would love to see any pictures you have of the room. I am thinking of trying to book a value 2 bedroom for June.

Unless you have AKV as a home resort, the chances of you getting a 2 br value at the 7 mos. booking window is slim to none. You could try to receive a transfer from a member with AKV points and book at the 11 mos. window. The AKV value rooms are truly the best "value" in DVC. At worst (20% chance) you get a parking lot view, but it is in the very front of the resort. To that conclusion, all the value rooms are in the front two wings of the resort.

I understand that a value room request is just that and is not guaranteed. However, when I spoke with the member services cast member she said there were no value rooms that were savannah view; not that I could request it but it wasn't guaranteed.
