HH in August

We don't own HH points, so I always thought that if we stayed at the DVC resort it would have to be off-season. But I just found out that kids in our state now start school after Labor Day. I guess it's a new law, or something. So I'd like to take our grandkids and their parents on a road trip to HH August 2003.

The question is: Is there any real chance that we'd be able to get in? We would want a 2BR, and I'm told there's a lot of them, and we would go the last week of August when (I hope) most kids are back in school. So I think there's a chance. But before I get anybody worked up, I'd like to be reassured that we have a shot.

You should have a chance for the last week in August within 7 months.

The resort itself is small (102 units) and the 2BR's make up most of those (76). You should have a good chance for success.

I was able to get a 2BR at HH the last week in August at about the 6 month mark.

Me too! We were able to get a 2 bedroom last July at the 7 month mark.

I tried booking a 1 bd for late Aug. The only thing I could get was for Sep 5-11. You would have better chance with 2bd. Most schools where the majority of the HHI owners live (not just DVC) start in Aug., but you will still find plenty of kids on the Island.
