We're thinking of renting out a villa during our stay, and were wondering if it was still possible to get the dining plan? TIA. :)

Renting a villa through disney?? then yes,
Renting a dvc points villa?? Then yes as well

Renting a private house or condo...then no you cannot.

You need to have the DVC member you rent points from add the dining plan you want to your reservation- you will not be able to do it yourself, because DVC will speak only to the actual member. This has to be done no later than 48 hours before you check in. You pay for the plan in full at the time you check in, so you don't have to arrange to pay the member.
