The Best New Year's Eve Ever ~ Part Two ~ Day Two

Sunday 28th December '09 ~ High 69F & Sunny

Once again we were up with the larks and out for 7am Extra Magic Hours at Disney Hollywood Studios. First off we got fastpasses for Tower of Terror and we rode RockNRollerCoaster (a walk on), we then rode Tower of Terror (also a walk on), and as the park was so quiet, we joined the 50 minute line for Toy Story Mania (which was actually only 30 minutes)

Next we wandered over to see Lightning McQueen and Mater and then rode Star Tours (again a walk on)

We were feeling a little peckish, so stopped off at Starring Rolls for a cake each and some orange juice. Our next stop was to visit Buzz Lightyear in Pixar Place, and then we used our fastpasses for ToT

We finished off our visit to DHS with a photo op at Animation Courtyard with Russell and Dug from Up

As we left the park, we wandered through the shops, then hopped in the car and drove to DTD. I bought a nice bag and scarf with some Christmas money from my mum & dad in TrenD, and Bek bought a Mr Potato Head/Transformers 'Bumble Spud' from the Once Upon a Toy Store

We then drove back to the Pop for a lie by the pool, which was lovely till the clouds got in the way of the sun, but hey, us Brits are made of sterner stuff, and we weren't going to let a cool breeze put us off :rotfl:


After a quick shower we headed up to Festival Bay, where I bought a nice summer top from Ron Jons :yay: and Bek bought a couple of t-shirts from Hot Topic

Next we called in at Super Target and Best Buy up by the Mall at Millenia, and Paul treated himself to a Nikon SLR camera

Once back at the room, Bek had had enough of us oldies and decided to chill in the room, so Paul & I went back to DHS. It was a bit nippy tonight, and I actually had to wear gloves (not funny, I'm in Florida !!). We rode Toy Story Mania again with some fastpasses we'd picked up earlier (now showing a 100 minutes wait) , and then we strolled around the Osborne Family Spectacle of Lights while Paul played with his new camera

We were there the year before at Christmas and fell lucky with the weather - hoping it misses this year when we go - but I have been when you need warmer clothes. However, we Brits are in shorts and the locals in jeans and padded jackets at the best of times :rotfl:

New Year's Eve was lovely and warm, but I'm sure the dancing and drinkies kept us warm too ;)

Gloves!!! Mind you, I could have done with some when I was there in December 2007 - DS and I were very cold then too!!! Tho' I think part of it was down to the shock of a chilly WDW!!! :rotfl:
