OK....so I have never been to either of these places...looking forward to trying them both in 9 days :cool1: I know they both have great sweet treats and muffins and such but I am wondering what you can get at both places as a counter service meal......do they both have breakfast and lunch sandwiches???? Thanks so much!!!!!

I would love to see any pics that you have!!!:thumbsup2

We love them both!! Such yummy treats ;) You can definately get lunch at both. The sandwiches at Starring Rolls are pre-made and sold on a first come first serve basis (and they are huge-or at least they were last year). As for breakfast you can get really yummy breakfast at Main Street Bakery (including breakfast sandwiches). Both have all manner of pastries etc. As for pictures I suggest the food porn threads (oops-I mean food picture threads) on this board. There is a categorized list on the first post. Have a great trip :)

The Main Street Bakery is a lot bigger than Starring rolls and the selection is a lot better.
I like Starring rolls, and I always stop there for coffee and a treat, but if I want something to take back to the room for a snack later I'd choose Main Street Bakery.
When I am DHS and want a good pastery and cappacino, I walk over to the Boardwalk Bakery. Its a nice walk from DHS and very relaxing sitting outside by the water.

Hi there!

I've never been to Main Street Bakery, however I have been to Starring Rolls.

After having been there this past February and having tried it for the first time, I must say that it's now one of my favorite CS places in DHS.

Starring Rolls isn't anything over the top, but it has decent food. Sandwiches ranging from Black Forest Ham to Turkey Focaccia. They even have a Vegetable Pita, last I checked.

Regardless, I've tried the Turkey sandwich and loved it. On the DDP, you have the choice of the sandwich/pita, side (that includes a choice of either chips or fresh fruit.) and dessert.

Which for me, was a sandwich, bag of chips and one of the best cupcakes I've ever had.

For desserts, they have various goodies such as the cupcakes mentioned earlier. I had gotten a chocolate cupcake there, and the second time I went, I got the same thing. It was a mix of chocolate and peanut butter and it was one of the best desserts I remember getting this past trip. They had another one, however I haven't gotten it yet. Other than that, they have cheesecake, fresh fruit tarts among other things.

The dining part of it is also a good thing. Every time my family and I went there, there wasn't hardly a crowd. Perhaps a few people, but nothing too much. And the seating area is kinda closed off a little and not to mention, it's shady. Which is perfect if you want a break out of the sun.

I hadn't heard much about this place when I first went, but I'm so glad I was willing to give it a chance. It's earned a spot on my top favorite CS places list without a doubt.

So all in all, don't pass Starring Rolls up. It's a great place to eat. :thumbsup2

Is a drink included as well, or is that a seperate cost? :confused3

We went to both for breakfast last week.

Main Street Bakery was far and away better than Starring Rolls.

The bakery had many more choices for HOT food. That was great on a cold day. Disney hot chocolate is awesome.

WOW! We've never eaten QS at the Studios (well, except when we tried the turkey legs which we didn't care for) because we've always read bad things about most of the options, but I could go for the sandwich and the cupcakes (see my tag to see how I feel about cupcakes!) at Starring Rolls. We must try it next trip!

I'm also looking forward to trying Main Street Bakery next time out! Thanks for all the great feedback!

Starring Rolls looks great for the adults, but for the kids the only choice on the menu is uncrustables?? what in the world is up with that?
my kids wouldn't eat those, but they would eat the other choices for adults, can they order anything?
if not those sandwiches look big enough to split anyway

It really is Uncrustables for kids but we split the sandwiches with our children. There was almost 1/2 lb. of meat on the sandwich. They did not like the watercress so we just removed it from their side of the sandwich.

None of us are really "dainty" eaters either. :)
