We will be taking our own dive gear which means two extra large bags. We will need them at each port. We are a level six room.

Does the ship offer any place we can store these large bags other than in our room?

If not, are there any great ideas on where we can store these bags in our room?

Maybe you could check with your cabin steward and see if he has any ideas. Seems to me a while back i read somewhere that a family needed extra storage space, and their cabin steward was able to help them out. just an idea...

Its been a long time since we brought all of our dive gear. Since Sept 11, we don't bring our regulators anymore because it was enough of a hastle through security before, and I don't even want to explain it now.

However, my husband has size 13 feet, so his fins are huge to say the least! LOL.

There seems to be alot of room under the bed. Also, perhaps, if you have a room with a drop down bed that you are not using, you could put your dive gear up there. Just a suggestion.

Don't forget to remove your dive knife. Security (on the ship) WILL confiscate it for the duration of the cruise! (we drove so not sure what the airports will do).

Like someone else suggested if you are not going to use the drop down top bunk you can ask them to leave it down and put extra luggage up there, that's what we did. The veranda works very well for keeping wet gear.

If you have never been on a dive excursion from a cruise ship it is probably different from what you have experienced before. The dives are usually shallow easy dives. On the last few trips I have been on I have just taken my regulator and mask and used the dive ops BC, fins, etc. It was much simpler for just a few dives in a week and also allowed for much less luggage.

The dive ops that Disney had in St. T and St. M had nice equipment.

If you want more challenging (interesting) dives, you can always arrange it yourself. You can find many large dive shops on the web now. We did it the last time we cruised to Cozumel. It went smoothly. It was much better and less expensive than the ship excursion.
