View Full Version : Disappointing Clubcard to Airmiles conversion Rate

We were thinking of paying for most, if not all, of our up coming trip to the NPB through the Airmiles – Tesco Clubcard route.
However, for a stay from 31st May to 3rd June, the DLRP website gives a price of about £830 whist Airmiles would want 7480 (£311 of Tesco Clubcard vouchers plus £411 so I would only ‘save’ £140.
I thought it would work out a lot cheaper.
What are others experiences?

DLP with Airmiles, never comes out as a good use of Tesco Vouchers, if you're used to getting x 4, I've checked several times.
Last year I booked our flights with Airmiles - £200 of Tesco vouchers got us £600 worth of flights, so I was happy with that.
Booked the hotel/ticket package direct with Disney and sold converted Days Out and Restaurant deals (at about 2 and a half times original vouchers worth) on Ebay to pay for it.
I'd love to see a new DLP partner for Tesco Clubcard deals, can't believe that at one time we had the choice of 5 and not one left now. :(

It isn't the best use of Clubcard Deals that is true. For those of us who have never converted before though its a chance for a subsidised/free trip we would have been taking anyway.
I've already used some for eurostar tickets for May and will book a hotel + tickets package fairly soon. Just want to wait and see what new offer they bring out after the £150 one.

Did you not get the double miles? It has to be the first time you converted tesco points to airmiles but we got 120 per £2.50. So £292 got us 14040 airmiles which will pay for 4 nights at Hotel New York and our direct Eurostar at top price (£504 for 3 of us) with £630 to pay - a saving of £706. This is the 31st May - 4th June btw.
I have to say that we had much better deals with putting the Eurostar with the hotel as they gave us more discount and also we were able to get to the next threshold as we had more points.
The downside of the Tesco route is that we can't actually book this until the other half of the double airmiles comes through which could be another 3 weeks yet (you have to allow 28 days for the double bit).

airmiles isn't a great conversion :(
we have only used airmiles for the eurostar on one trip
use deals for the eurotunnel all the time though
