Sorry CJ, me again!

We had:

Bridesmaid's entrance - Circle of Life
My entrance: Can you Feel the Love Tonight
Exit music: You'll Be in My Heart
First Dance: Beauty and the Beast

Then during the cake reception bit we requested What a Wonderful World/Somewhere Over the Rainbow to be played.

Our violinist was amazing - he went round taking requests!

some day my prince will come
go the distance
kiss the girl
a whole new world

but im not sure where yet :rotfl: im just wanting to get some ideas together...

If I can find it I'd like the instrumental Rainbow Connection, I also like Ever Ever After from Enchanted, and I may have Canon in D for the prelude music.

Nothing is decided though

I am really pleased you posted this as I was just about to!:goodvibes

We are getting married on the Disney Wonder and will have a pianist. But I am really struggling with song choices.

I know what I like but not sure where they would best fit.

So far I have,
Prelude/Seating: either "A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes" or "Beauty and the Beast"

Processional:??

Recessional: Ever Ever After

Random songs to be played during cake cutting etc,

Can You Feel The Love Tonight
Some Day My Prince Will Come
When You Wish Upon A Star
Go The Distance
Under The Sea
Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Da

Really struggling with the Processional though. I really like "We're In Heaven" by Do but not sure if I should keep it to something the pianist can play rather than bringing my own music along.

Groom and GMs - Go the Distance instrumental

Bridesmaids - Someday my prince will come instrumental
My entrance - Can you feel the love tonight by kenny g (love this song!!!)

Seating: Winter, Largo from Vivaldi's Four Seasons
Imagine, Beatles
Somewhere, West Side Story
Clair de Lune
Time to Say Goodbye
If I Loved You, Carousel
Mother's entrance: Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring
Groom/Groomsmen: Another One Bites the Dust, Queen ;)
Bridesmaids: Only Time, Enya
Bride: Traditional Bridal Chorus
Sand Ceremony: All I Ask of You, Phantom of the Opera
Recessional: Traditional Wedding March
That's all! :dance3:

Actually it went over really well! Because it was on strings it took our guests a few to realize what song it was (I purposely did not list it in the program), but from what I saw in a video everyone starting chuckling and commenting on what a joker DH is and how much that fits his personality. We picked that song inparticular b/c DH is 11 yrs older than me and thought he'd always be a bachelor (then I came along;)!) SO him finally biting the bullet & getting married just made that song fit!

Choosing to stick a "fun" song is great because:
1. it provides levity at what can be a tense, formal time.
2. it's a great memory
3. Why Not?!? It's your wedding!! :goodvibes

HTH!! :thumbsup2

Thank you! I did think about having the SW theme played by the violinist or organist so that it wasn't so obvious. I may just do that!

I am having an Escape wedding at the Wedding Pavilion and I am also interested in if there is a list of the songs that the organist and violinist can play - does such a list exist and/can you request something specific and they will try accomdate your request by learning the song (within reason of course)

It's not set in stone yet, but here's what I'm tossing around.

I love the idea of the "Princess Bride" theme, Bob Marley, and Dave Matthews, but I'm not sure how it will go with the 40's Jersey Shore and 40's Hawaiian theme we have going on.

But these I'm sure of:

Bride: "At Last" - Etta James
Recessional: "Ain't That a Kick" - Dean Martin
Last Song of Reception: "Thanks for the Memories" - Bob Hope

DF is still deployed and we just got started with the planning, so there's time to figure it all out.

My DD had "Flying" by James Newton Howard (also used in Disney's "Year of a Million Dreams" commercials) as the processional for both her and the bridesmaids. The recessional was "Strawberry Swing" by Coldplay (which I noticed another poster also had).

Anyone have suggestions for a cake cutting song? Doesn't have to be a Disney song. It's the last music decision I have to make!

We're using Def Leppard's "Pour Some Sugar on Me" for our Cake Cutting song. We're totally untraditional, and both my DH and I love the song.

Skylersmommy5

The only songs I know of right now that we're using are:
Grandparents& Parents(yes we're having the parents-my stepmom & dad as well as DH's parents walk down together) to Over the Rainbow-What a Wonderful World

Bridesmaids, Groomsmen, MoH's (my mom is in this mix) best Men, our son & nephews to Enigma's Returnto Innocense

DH & I will be walking down the isle together to the John Stamos version from the show Full House of The Beach Boys song Forever

our Sand Ceremony with DS will be to Circle of Life

Our Recessional will be the Winona version of Burning Love(from Lilo & Stitch)

Our First Dance is Bon Jovi's Thank You For Loving Me

My Father/Daughter Dance will be Billy Ray Cyrus(just him not Miley version) Ready, Set, Don't Go

My Mother/Son Dance Song with DS will probably be the Kenny Loggins version of Baby Mine(from Dumbo)

Our last Dance Song is Aerosmith's I Dont Want to Miss a Thing

Skylersmommy5
03-10-2010, 02:48 AM
We're also going to have Our entrance to our Reception be Bon Jovi's Livin on a Prayer

our Family Dance will be Rod Stewart's Forever Young

and of course our Cake Cutting Song will be Def Leppard's Pour Some Sugar on Me

We started out with a Disney Medley for our guests being seated. The last song they played before the wedding began was going to the Chapel. I got so excited when that song came on!!

Then my grandmother and the mother's came in to Love is A Song.

Groom and party came in to A Whole New World

Maid of Honor came in to A Dream is a Wish

I came in with my parents to When You Wish Upon a Star.

The recessional was Somewhere Over the Rainbow (the Hawaiian version)

We are having tons of trouble picking music out. :confused3

The only definites so far are that I am walking down the aisle to strings playing Edelweiss (The Sound of Music is my all time favorite movie) and that our first dance is going to be to the song "Then" by Brad Paisley.

DF wants to get Bella Notte in there somewhere also. :)

Sorry..I just saw this.

We had a pianist on the cruise ship. I got the sheet music and gave it to my WC about a month before the wedding and she emailed it to him.

He was playing in the clubs and our onboard WC arranged for us to meet with him before his session. I brought another copy of the sheet music to the ship with a full version and a shortened version. He played the full right away (don't know why I was shocked..but I burst into tears at the amazing job he did) in the club.

I did make a back up CD of the instrumental only I found and carried it on the ship.

ETA - PM me if you would like the sheet music..I still have the email I sent my WC

I want to use all Alice Cooper music. I'm a huge fan, so it's fitting and the df doesn't care, he just wants me to show up.

We used:
Seating Guests -- Love Theme from “Somewhere in Time”; “A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes”; “Rhapsody on the Theme” by Paganini

Groom's Mom's entrance -- "Baby Mine"

Minister (dear friend), Best Man (our son) & Groom -- "You've Got a Friend in Me"

Maid of Honor (our daughter) -- Pachelbel's Canon in D (from our original wedding)

My entrance -- Excerpt from "To the Stars"

Exit - -"When You Wish Upon a Star"

Even now, 14 months later, I wouldn't change any of these choices; I thought they sounded beautiful. All were played on the WP organ except "To The Stars" which I'd burned to a CD
