Hi! We recently moved to a rural area in NJ the deer are plentiful. All of my hostas that I brought with me are all missing big chunks of leaves. We have lots of little critters running around here and I don't know who it could be but think it may be the deer. Does anyone know if the deer could be the culprits?
Hate to tell you this, but yes deer just love them! Groundhogs don't seem to bother them - gee at least one thing they don't like.

Hi Claudine, welcome!! :)
dt is absolutely right, deer love hostas!
It's weird isn't it.....deer are so beautiful and graceful, it's wonderful to watch them, UNLESS they're eating your plants....whole different story then! :D
Check out this link - Deer Resistant & Less Foriaged Plants (http://www.waterloogardens.com/care_sheets/cs_deer/cs_deer_res_pl.htm) - for some ideas on what kind of stuff they find less appetizing!
