My daughter is currently doing her student teaching. She will graduate from Florida State University in May with the credentials to teach social sciences for U.S. middle and high school. She will soon be looking for a teaching position. She has always wanted to live in the U.K. and would love to teach there. I would greatly appreciate it if anyone could point me to a website that defines the requirements for teachers in the U.K. DD realizes that she might have to take additional courses to teach in another country.
Thank you.

I'm not sure if she would be able to teach in a school over here with her qualifications, I know the rules/requirements changed a couple of years ago.
Start here (http://www.bbc.co.uk/schools/parents/life/you_and_school/working_in_schools/training_teacher.shtml) It has links to government sites which may have the answer.
Your DD if she did come over here would probably start through an agency to begin with. There isn't a huge amount of teaching jobs about at the moment though. She would also need a CRB check done, more info can be found here (http://www.crb.homeoffice.gov.uk/)
Hope that points you in the right direction:thumbsup2

As Scotland and England have different educational systems it might be helpful to look here (http://www.gtcs.org.uk/) for links regarding teacher qualifications required in Scotland :)

Thank you both for the information! That is exactly what she needs.
