This is all assuming there is availability.

My cousin's daughter who is 17 expressed interest in going to Disney and I told her she could join us, we'd pay for park ticket and she could stay with us. Her parents (my cousin and his wife) have the means to go, but have always picked Europe for vacations with their girls (the other is 19 and is actually going to meet us there 1 day since she's on spring break with her friends). The older one didn't care, but the younger one has always wanted to go, her parents have zero desire to ever go.

So anyway, guess you didn't need all that back story, lol, I'm a little long-winded. Comes from having to fill all those long history papers in college. So we'll have DH, me, DD 16 mos and my cousin, 17. Right now we're booked in a value studio. We stayed in one in Nov and I felt it was even tight for the 3 of us. DH isn't so convinced. We do take afternoon breaks so DD can have downtime/nap, I'd hate to say to my cousin "shh, baby is sleeping" and make her sit there for 3-4 hrs. Same at bedtime. Hate to make her go to bed early when the baby does.

Thoughts? Basically 3 adults in a value studio is crazy right? Or, have you done it and it worked out fine? Thanks!:goodvibes

We've stayed in a value studio before and it's pretty tight (3 ppl). We only did it for 3 nights so we managed...but I wouldn't like it for a full week I don't think. Add in a pack & play for the baby...no place to put the cushions from the sofa bed...luggage...I'd at LEAST upgrade to a Std or Savannah view studio for a few extra feet. But I think the whole sofa bed / pack & play thing will make it really tight unless you're planning to put it on the balcony. (just kiddding) I know some people say they put air mattresses & pack & plays in the entry hall but IMHO that would have to be a fire hazard.

IF I had the points to spare I'd probably go up in size as much as I could...

I agree. A studio in general, much less the smaller value units, would be very tight for 3 adults and a small child. I would definitely do a 1BR and save your sanity. This would allow you to put the child down for a nap in the bedroom while the rest of you could relax in the living room area. You would also have a full kitchen and washer/dryer which can come in very handy. Plus if you book a 1BR at Kidani you get the 2nd full bath, a necessity when staying with a teenage girl.

If it's available, I'd go with the 1 BR unit. Nap times will be so much easier with a second space to hang around and chat/watch TV while your DD sleeps in a separate bedroom.

Also, night-time sleeping arrangements may be better for everyone. You, DH, and DD can take the bedroom and your cousin can sleep in the living room on the pull out. That way, if your daughter wakes up in the middle of the night your cousin won't be disturbed (come to think of it.....you may want to put your daughter in the living room with your cousin so you can get the good night sleep :thumbsup2)

I just came back from a trip with my DW, DD (3), and my mother. We stayed in a 1 BR at Kidani, and it was perfect for us. We loved having the two separate spaces to spread out, and to give DD the quiet space she needed to nap.

Good luck with your decision.

On a side note. Your cousin is 17 and as long as she feels comfortable there is no reason she needs to hang out with you guys in the room.

she could go to the pool, stay in the parks, check out DTD. My kids are 12, 13, and 15 and I feel completely comfortable letting them "roam" while we are at Disney. They have been several times though and know the "rules". They have to tell me where they are going, when they will be back, and are not allowed to go anywhere Disney transportation doesn't go.

If you have spare points go ahead and upgrade to a 1 bedroom. The extra space will be well worth it. :)

If you really want to stay with a studio, I'd consider OKW, since there are two real queen beds in the studios. Otherwise, with the make up of your party, I think a 1 bedroom would be more comfortable.
