I was reading on allears that when you book a dinner show you have to pay in full when you make the ADR. But what happens if you have the DDP, or hope to add the DDP to your package if free dining comes out?

For prepayment meals, if you are booked with the DDP, they will allow you to schedule the ADR without prepayment, but will take a credit card as a guarantee against a no show. If you're not booked with the DDP already, you'll have to pay at the time of booking the ADR.

Some of the dinner shows require prepayment - the Spirit of Aloha is one example of this. If you wish to book one of these prepaid events and use the DDP, you must already have your vacation package booked. They will pull up your hotel reservations and verify that you do in fact have the dining plan. They probably go ahead and take away those dining credits, though I'm not positive on that. If you don't have your vacation booked already, you cannot make a reservation to the show with the DDP and must pay in full if you wish to book that dinner show or wait until you do have your vacation package reservations and hope they have spaces still available.
