Formal Night Activities

On the Magic 7 day formal nite, I realize dinner is a dress-up affair, but is the show that night also? I'd imagine it is because I wouldn't know what other activity a formal dressed person would attend. If I'm not dressed for this occasion, should I also plan on skipping the show?

Many people go to the show dressed casually and then go back to their rooms to change. Other people are dressed formally. There's a mixture of dress at the shows.
