All these stories of freezing temps have me wondering - does it ever snow? I'd love to see some pictures of the Fort (or WDW) with snow on the ground (though I am not sure I'd want to be there when it was cold enough to have snow).

There have been a couple of times there have been flurries - but the ground & foliage never gets cold enough for it to stick. However....you will see puddles turn to ice & will get ice on your windows.

We've been at the Fort when we've been advised to leave a faucet trickling so the plumbing in the RV doesn't freeze. We've also had that happen when staying in the cabins.

Contrary to popular belief, it does drop below freezing in central Florida! Our farmers are going to really be scrambling to keep from losing their crops over the next 3-4 days.

Today's high was 49 - or approx 15 degrees below normal. Tonight it's supposed to get in the low 20's. This morning at 5:30a it was 27 degrees at my house - just 25 miles west of Ft.W. I grew up in Buffalo, and I don't care where you're from, 27 degrees is cold.

And of course, when you walk down Main Street in MK, you can get snow flurries in the evening thanks to a little Disney :wizard:

Just caught some flurries this past weekend :)

I've lived my entire 38 years in Florida (St. Pete) and in that time I've seen snow only once. It was back in the 70's and there were very light flurries that left a white dusting on the grass and cars that melted by 9AM. There have been a few times where ice formed on puddles, over wet plants or once in a bucket. I do recall going to Epcot Center in January 1985 and the water fountain didn't work due to ice blocking the faucet, but I've never seen or heard of snow in Orlando.

What, no snow you say??!!! It snows quite often on Magic Kingdom Main Street in November and December, and snows almost every night at the Streets of America in Hollywood Studios in November and December :goodvibes

Heck, Scott - You're in Pinellas County and you seldom get freeze warnings, while across the bay in Tampa, they do! I lived in Sarasota and Manatee Counties in the 70's and 80's and it snowed twice in those decades (1977 & 1989). In 1980 in January, 1990 in January, and last January we had snow at FtW while we were camping. None of it stuck - but definitely light flurries in the air! In 1980 we were in a pop-up & had ice on the outside of the canvas in the morning & heavy frost all over the place. Yep....it has snowed in Orlando before - but it doesn't stick.

Also in Pinellas, in 1989 it snowed. I remember being in the back of mom's minivan in the parking lot of a nearby Kash'n'Karry, and seeing it land on the windows. That was the last time it snowed in Pinellas.

I've lived in Central Florida my entire life (less than 50 years) and I've seen it snow 4 times. It melts within a minute after it hit the ground, but boy it sure was fun!!!

I was on the way back from a church ski trip right before Christmas in '89, and we were stuck once we hit Florida since we don't have equipment for clearing snow off the highway. We built a snowman outside a church shelter we stopped at near Lake City (north Florida). So I don't know how much of that made it south to home. But it was nuts up there.

We do get freeze warnings here, but that's different than snow. Everyone wraps their plants up with blankets like other places. But the Gulf and Bay do keep us warmer than places further inland.

I lived on the Gulf Coast most of my life-New Port Richey, and in the mid-70's it snowed enough and stuck long enough for my son to make a little snow man!:cool1:

I hope you get some warmer weather when you come.....it was only 29 degrees this morning, I am on the East coast about a 1/2 hr South of Daytona Beach. It is suppose to go up to the 50's today and low 60's on Thursday, but we have another cold front coming on Friday. The worse thing about Florida weather is it could be in the 70's one day then 50's the next this time of year. It is odd that it is lasting so long this year.

I have lived here about 28 years and only saw snow flurries a few times.

You can visit here right now.. about a foot of accumulation and 17 degrees out. Tomorrows high is going to be 1 and Friday will be 0. :scared1:

I cannot wait to leave in less than a month and go where the snow does not stick to the ground!!!!!

My luck I will bring it.

If that's the case, stay home!:lmao: Just kidding. It will be warmer next week hopefully, but we might get snow Friday night/Saturday morn.

This is one reason we moved back to Georgia in '09. Our children had never seen snow. Then, the week we moved, BAM, 15 inches of it. The kids saw it, had fun for 10 minutes, then said 'I'm cold!' and back inside they went. :goodvibes

The weather difference between Orlando and Atlanta is amazing. We would leave Orlando to visit family, and it would be almost 70 degrees. Then, when we got to GA, the temp would drop 30-40 degrees. You never really knew what to dress for.
