We haven't had many reports from those who stayed in a Savanna View room facing the Pembe Savanna at Kidani Village. I'm curious what the view was like and how many animals you saw. There are supposed to be okapi, red river hogs and hornbills on that savanna. Is there a lot of animal activity?

We were on the 4th floor with the watering hole in front of our balcony and saw quite a bit of activity with the okapi, red river hogs, hornbills and several others. We loved it!

We stayed on the Pembe savannah this past December in a 1 BR on the top floor (if my memory serves me, we were in room 7969). I have to be honest that I was very disappointed in the view. We were near the end of the hallway, and our view looked at a small bit of savannah that had an access road for animal care vehicles running behind it. If you looked to the right, you could see part of the animal care barn, and if you looked to the left, you could see an offsite highrise far in the distance.

We did see some animals--mostly okapi and tommies, plus an occasional guinea fowl. However, the animals weren't as plentiful or in as much variety as the numerous other savannah views I have in the past. In the future, we'll request Sunset Savannah. We did see the red river hogs from one of the hallway windows, and they looked cute. I would imagine we would've enjoyed the view more if we had been able to see them and their activity.
