Search is just not working for me tonight!

We're planning a trip for late May, using the AP rates. I'm not sure if I want DDP yet. Keeping to a schedule is difficult with my little ones, so I can't decide if table service meals will work. I'd love to be able to book the week right now and add DDP later if it works out. Can I??

The DDP must be added at least 72 hours prior to check in. You would need to have your ADRs made well before then though. In fact, they should already be made.

I was wondering about that myself. Thanks for posting the question. And the answer lol.

Thanks so much!

I decided to make ADR's last night, just in case, actually. I was shocked to get absolutely EVERYTHING we wanted. Even the stuff I always have trouble getting came up with multiple times available! This is too exciting, as we had no plans to do a long trip in May at all until last night. :yay:

i'm glad this was brought up too because we are going the last week of may and we don't know if we want to add the qs plan. it's good to hear you can add 3 day before arrival because we don't have to worry about adrs!!!

I wouldn't say that. I just booked my mid-May vacation last weekend and every restaurant I looked at was wide open. I got every reservation for exactly the time I requested it and could easily have changed to a different time or different restaurant if I wanted.

I also got everything I wanted for our 5/23 check in trip this week. Including F! dinner package, Le Cellier, and several charector dinings at 'normal' dinner hour times. We are used to eating at 8 or 9pm to get ADR's so this was a real treat to get traditional dinner times.

Question if anyone knows.....if you have an AP pass (we're thinking about getting them) can you add the DP without buying a one day MYW ticket?

I know the whole you buy a MYW ticket and can save it for later use or to upgrade to an AP etc but we're looking at doing up to 4 trips this year with the AP and we wouldn't need a lot of extra "one day" tickets - I know you can only upgrade one ticket at a time to an AP

Thanks.

You can buy a ticketless package with dining for annual passholders, just ask when you call.

You can also book it online by going to the "Passholders" section, but you have to have the AP or a voucher in-hand to do so.

Nala and Tilly - thank you both so much! We haven't got the AP pass yet but have been seriously looking at it. We love having the DP for the convenience and DD loves character meals. I've been trying to work out costwise how much we would spend w/o the dining plan...

Thanks again it's nice to know we can still get it if we get the AP!

Word to the wise! (I just changed an AP discount reservation to a AP + DDP reservation last night.)

When you change from room-only to room-plus-DDP, you are changing from a room-only to a package. It's not a matter of 'adding' the DDP (which you can do for DVC). You have to cancel your reservation and get a refund and re-book the package. There are different payment policies and cancellation policies. Since I did mine w/in 45 days, I had to pay 100% last night and will get a credit for my 1 night deposit on my room only. If there is no more availability at your resort you are out of luck.

Just wanted to clarify since I was on the phone twice doing this. (First time, I could tell it was a new CM. She kept calling it the "Plus Dining Plan", I was like "huh?" Then I realized she was reading "AP Rates plus Dining Plan" as "AP Rates and the "Plus Dining Plan." :rotfl:)

Thanks for posting this. I called once yesterday for info and again today. Both times, nothing was said about this other than having your first payment refunded and then paying the entire package in full. When they cancel the first, doesn't that automatically make it available again? I'd hate to think I'll lose my AP room rate at the resort we chose if we decide to pay for the DDP. I know one of the girls I spoke to tried really hard to talk in circles to get me to just book dining right away with her, but neither even hinted at possibly losing the room altogether if I wanted to add it later. You'd think that would be a major selling point if you had someone on the fence about it. Am I understanding this correctly?
