My in-laws and my three kids will be coming on the trip with us to cheer me and DH on. While it would be really neat for them to get to see us on Main Street, I'm worried that it will be crazy in there and they will miss us. Anybody ever have a spectator (or five) on Main Street? Did you see them? Did they see you? Would you recommend it? In-laws in 60's and in good shape, and kids are 13, 10, and 6, and all of them get around well and are agreeable. In-laws will have a car, but don't mind Disney transport either. Staying at Saratoga Springs.
Thanks! Wow...it's almost here!!!

Head them to the hub just in front of the Castle and headed to Futureland. It is a head on shot for you as a runner and them as a spectator.

I've spent (too) much time thinking about this.
I don't think Disney transportation will help. The MK opens at 9:00 - at least it does on Saturday. I haven't looked at Sunday. Disney MK busses wouldn't start until 8:00ish. You'll be long gone. I would have the in-laws drive to the MK parking lot. Walk to the TTC and take the monorail to the MK.
AFAIK the TTC/MK lot is accessible by car throughout the races.
Good luck!

Disney transportation will not work. Marathon bussing on the marathon assuming a restart of marathon bussing at 7 am sharp. It will not work on the half for most folks.
To get to MK on half day they must go north out of POR to Vista, then left to World. There should be a side gate open for MK parking lot traffic. On marathon day, just go into the lot as you normally would.
Imeant to add in my earlier post that you should see what they are wearing and they you. That is the biggest reason most folks do not see each other.

Also at the Expo Sharpie has in the past paper and sharpies to make a sign for your runner!!
(but Charles is right, know what you are wearing - are they going to have hats on?!)
For the full in '08 I got to MK before opening and I didnt need a ticket to cheer! I had it just in case - I took a cab from BCV to MK I think it was closer to 6am (I had just missed the bus! so asked for a cab...)
