We are considering a B2B in August. How does it work when you do a B2B?

Do they make you get off the ship/collect your luggage/etc?

How does this work when using ME? I assume I would only pay 1 fee and just have to call to ensure that the return date coincides with the end of the 2nd portion of the trip.

Any other things I should know when I consider doing a B2B.

We're doing a b2b and so far we don't know if we will have the same cabin. We may have to pack up, but were told out cabin person will deliver our luggage to our new room, if that happens. We were told we have to get off for a very short time..off and right back on.
ME doesn't play into our cruise, since that's just for the airport to Disney. If you mean the transfers you pay for, we decided to cancel ours and go with a rental car, but when we had them, we just told them which days we wanted the transfers.

Current procedure is to leave the ship for a short period of time to recheck-in. You will get a letter in your stateroom about the procedure. (Sometimes they tell you to meet somewhere to be escorted off, sometimes they just tell you to be off with the last guests at 9 - 9:15. If you are staying in the same stateroom, you don't have to pack up anything (just make sure your stateroom host knows you're doing back-to-back. Sometimes they aren't told.) If you are changing cabins, you will have to pack and the letter will tell you what to do with your luggage.

You get off the ship, walk through the customs area (you do have to fill out the customs forms and have your id), go around the corner and back up to the check-in area. When the computers are cleared and brought up for the next cruise, they will check you in (bring your forms and credit card), get your pictures retaken and when they are ready, back on board. The 4 times we've done this, we've never been off the ship for more than 1/2 hour.

Oh and as far as transfers, if you are using Disney transfers, they should book a one way transfer to the port on your first cruise and a one way transfer from the port to the airport on your second cruise.

It's a pretty smooth process. When you can get back on the ship depends on when they get everyone off. Our last cruise, we didn't leave the ship until 9:40 because people were still hanging out. But we were back onboard a little after 10. The letter you get has a contact number of the officer coordinating everything if you have any questions.
