Hi,

Wow, I've heard about these boards for years from my Mum, but I never realised how much information there is!

Basically, I'm planning my very first Disney Paris trip. I grew up in Disneyland and have been to DisneyWorld, so this is the next big step. For my 21st, I want to do something really special, so I'm going to Disneyland Paris to celebrate with my closest friends. As uni students though, we're on a bit of a budget. I've been looking around the forums, trying to find some good deals, but it's so overwhelming! I'm not really sure where to start, where's the best place to stay, where to avoid, what's a good deal, what isn't...

Anyway, I just wanted to post to see if anybody had any advice about booking the trip, places to stay, rides that can't be missed, restaurants that are amazing, etc. And obviously to get to know people. :) Also, can I ask what the weather might be like at the end of March/beginning of April? Are the crowds pretty heavy?

Thank you in advance,
~Jen xxx

Hi Jen . Elaine, Jackie, Elaine and Reid welcome to DLP DIS board :wave2:

We are a friendly bunch here so please join in on any other thread or if you have a number of questions then just start a new thread for each :goodvibes

If you have not had a look yet, DLP posting rules are here (http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1477038), DIS posting guidelines can be found here (http://www.wdwinfo.com/guidelines.htm).

You have come to the happy place :goodvibes Lots on here will be happy to help. So take a deep breath, grab a cup of tea and lets' begin to help you plan your trip.

Let's start off with the first part. How will you be travelling car, eurostar, ferry or flight?
Is staying on-site important or would you stay off-site for a better budget deal?

Hi Cyrano,

Thank you for the reply and welcome! :)

We'll be travelling either by eurostar or flight, whichever offers the best deal. I've looked around at flights to Paris on Ryanair and they only leave from Glasgow, which none of us live anywhere near, and the times weren't very good. So unless I can find a better flight leaving from somewhere a bit closer or easier for us all to get to, we'll probably use the Eurostar. I already looked at prices, £29.50 each way (direct to Disneyland Resort), so not too horrible.

As for where to stay, I'd love to stay in a Disneyland hotel, but it's definitely not a must. I don't want to have to travel too far to get to Disneyland though.

Thank you so much,
~Jen xxx

Hi Jen. :)

If you can cope with a WDW trip then DLRP is going to be really easy for you to get your head around! It is a lot more similar to DLR.

I'd suggest for you to stay at a Disney resort as they are all walking distance to the parks.

Going on a budget I'd say consider the Cheyenne, as it's a lovely resort and a great price. If you can stretch a little further then check out the Sequoia Lodge, really lovely for a little bit extra. :)

I would totally agree with you if it weren't for the fact that my Mummy planned that trip, haha! I was only 12 at the time, so I wouldn't have been much help. Hopefully this will be the first trip of many I plan to various Disneys around the world! :D

Thanks for the recommendations, I'll be sure to look into them. I was on the website and they've got this deal advertised for the Sante Fe (I think? If I'm reading it correctly, at least) where it's £150 for two nights and three days, park passes included for the three days, and breakfast. It's the New Years Deal, I believe? Anyway, I thought that might be worth looking more into, but what do you think?

I just looked at the Cheyenne, and I'm thinking bunk beds may not be the way to go for us, personally. The Sequoia looks beautiful, and the Santa Fe isn't too bad either. At the end of the day, we'll only be sleeping there. Most of our time will be spent at the parks or Disney Village, so as long as it's close and comfortable, it doesn't really matter that much, you know?

Thank you so much, I really do appreciate the thoughts and advice!

P.S. I LOVE that you got engaged at Disneyland Paris! It's my dream to be proposed to in front of the castle! Congratulations to you and your fiance; he's a keeper!

The Santa Fe is just across the little river from the Cheyenne, and I do like the Santa Fe - especially if its just somewhere to sleep and shower etc. I think the beds at the Santa Fe are really comfy, we sleep like logs each time we stay there :) .

the santa fe is good for a base. it is basic, there isnt much themeing but if its just somewhere to sleep and shower it would do fine. i prefer staying onsite to be honest for emh and to be so close to the parks.

oh and hello and welcome

I've just had a look at the Vienna International Dream Castle, and I think I've fallen in love! Has anybody stayed there? Know of any good deals?
