I know there was a Nikon Lens chart posted. Is there anything like that for Canon? I read somewhere (maybe here?) that you can use some older SLR lenses with the DSLRs with an adaptor of some sort.

Please.....ENLIGHTEN ME on this subject! :worship:

you can google it but you will probably not need a chart - Canon "EF" lens mount was introduced in 1987 and consequently all the lens since then fit on all Canon DSLR's. You can get adapters to fit different lens to the Canon system, including the older "FD" mounts but from what I've read using these adapters will result in reduced image quality. you can find further info at

I would only add that the older Sigma lenses will not work on the DSLR systems. You will get the "ERR 99" error on the camera. At one point, these could be "re-chipped" by Sigma but they stopped doing this a few years ago. Now they just offer a rebate if you exchange the lens with them (at MSRP costs which are usually much higher than actual retail).
